Psalm 69:22-25
May the table set before them become a snare; may it become retribution and a trap. May their eyes be darkened so they cannot see, and their backs be bent forever. Pour out your wrath on them; let your fierce anger overtake them. May their place be deserted; let there be no one to dwell in their tents.
May the table set before them become a snare; may it become retribution and a trap
1 Samuel 28:9 But the woman said to him, "Surely you know what Saul has done. He has cut off the mediums and spiritists from the land. Why have you set a trap for my life to bring about my death?"
Job 18:10 "A noose is hidden for him on the ground; a trap lies in his path."
May their eyes be darkened so they cannot see, and their backs be bent forever
Romans 11:7-10 What then? What the people of Israel sought so earnestly they did not obtain. The elect among them did, but the others were hardened, as it is written: "God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes that could not see and ears that could not hear, to this very day." (Deuteronomy 29:4; Isaiah 29:10) And David says: "May their table become a snare and a trap, a stumbling block and a retribution for them. May their eyes be darkened so they cannot see, and their backs be bent forever." (Psalm 69:22-23)
Pour out your wrath on them
Psalm 79:6-7 Pour out your wrath on the nations that do not acknowledge you, on the kingdoms that do not call on your name; for they have devoured Jacob and devastated his homeland.
Jeremiah 10:25 Pour out your wrath on the nations that do not acknowledge you, on the peoples who do not call on your name. For they have devoured Jacob; they have devoured him completely and destroyed his homeland.
May their place be deserted
Leviticus 26:43 " 'For the land will be deserted by them and will enjoy its sabbaths while it lies desolate without them. They will pay for their sins because they rejected my laws and abhorred my decrees.' "
Matthew 23:38 "Look, your house is left to you desolate."
let there be no one to dwell in their tents
Acts 1:20 "For," said Peter, "it is written in the Book of Psalms: 'May his place be deserted; let there be no one to dwell in it' (Psalm 69:25), and 'May another take his place of leadership.' " (Psalm 109:8)

Psalm 69:21
They put gall in my food and gave me vinegar for my thirst.
Numbers 6:2-3 "Speak to the Israelites and say to them: 'If a man or woman wants to make a special vow, a vow of dedication to the LORD as a Nazarite, they must abstain from wine and other fermented drink and must not drink vinegar made from wine or other fermented drink. They must not drink grape juice or eat grapes or raisins.' "
Matthew 27:34 There they offered Jesus wine to drink, mixed with gall (a pain-killing narcotic); but after tasting it, he refused to drink it.
Matthew 27:48 Immediately one of them ran and got a sponge. He filled it with wine vinegar, put it on a staff, and offered it to Jesus to drink.
Mark 15:23 Then they offered him wine mixed with myrrh (to deaden pain), but he did not take it.
Mark 15:36 Someone ran, filled a sponge with wine vinegar, put it on a staff, and offered it to Jesus to drink.
Luke 23:36-37 The soldiers also came up and mocked him. They offered him wine vinegar and said, "If you are the king of the Jews, save yourself."
John 19:28-30 Later, knowing that everything had now been finished, and so that Scripture would be fulfilled, Jesus said, "I am thirsty." A jar of wine vinegar was there, so they soaked a sponge in it, put the sponge on a stalk of the hyssop plant, and lifted it to Jesus' lips. When he had received the drink, Jesus said, "It is finished." With that he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.

Psalm 69:19-20
You know how I am scorned, disgraced and shamed; all my enemies are before you. Scorn has broken my heart and has left me helpless; I looked for sympathy, but there was none, for comforters, but I found none.
You know how I am scorned, disgraced and shamed
Psalm 22:6 But I am a worm and not a man, scorned by everyone, despised by the people.
I looked for sympathy, but there was none, for comforters
Job 16:2 "I have heard many things like these; you are miserable comforters, all of you!"
but I found none
Psalm 142:4 Look and see, there is no one at my right hand; no one is concerned for me. I have no refuge; no one cares for my life.
Isaiah 63:3-6 "I have trodden the winepress alone; from the nations no one was with me. I trampled them in my anger and trod them down in my wrath; their blood spattered my garments, and I stained all my clothing. It was for me the day of vengeance; the year for me to redeem had come. I looked but there was no one to help, I was appalled that no one gave support; so my own arm achieved salvation for me, and my own wrath sustained me. I trampled the nations in my anger; in my wrath I made them drunk and poured their blood on the ground."

Psalm 69:13-15
But I pray to you, LORD, in the time of your favor; in your great love, O God, answer me with your sure salvation. Rescue me from the mire, do not let me sink; deliver me from those who hate me, from the deep waters. Do not let the floodwaters engulf me or the depths swallow me up or the pit close its mouth over me.
but I pray to you, LORD, in the time of your favor
Isaiah 49:8 This is what the LORD says: "In the time of my favor I will answer you, and in the day of salvation I will help you; I will keep you and will make you to be a covenant for the people, to restore the land and to reassign its desolate inheritances, ..."
2 Corinthians 6:2 For he says, "In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you." (Isaiah 49:8) I tell you, now is the time of God's favor, now is the day of salvation.
in your great love, O God
Psalm 17:7 Show me the wonders of your great love, you who save by your right hand those who take refuge in you from their foes.
Psalm 51:1 Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot out my transgressions.
deliver me from those who hate me, from the deep waters
Psalm 69:2 I sink in the miry depths, where there is no foothold. I have come into the deep waters; the floods engulf me.
Psalm 144:7-8 Reach down your hand from on high; deliver me and rescue me from the mighty waters, from the hands of foreigners whose mouths are full of lies, whose right hands are deceitful.
Do not let the floodwaters engulf me
Psalm 124:4-5 ... the flood would have engulfed us, the torrent would have swept over us, the raging waters would have swept us away.
or the depths swallow me up
Numbers 16:33 They went down alive into the realm of the dead, with everything they owned; the earth closed over them, and they perished and were gone from the community.

Psalm 69:10-12
When I weep and fast, I must endure scorn; when I put on sackcloth, people make sport of me. Those who sit at the gate mock me, and I am the song of the drunkards.
When I weep and fast, I must endure scorn; when I put on sackcloth, people make sport of me
Psalm 35:13-16 Yet when they were ill, I put on sackcloth and humbled myself with fasting. When my prayers returned to me unanswered I went about mourning as though for my friend or brother. I bowed my head in grief as though weeping for my mother. But when I stumbled, they gathered in glee; assailants gathered against me without my knowledge. They slandered me without ceasing. Like the ungodly they maliciously mocked; they gnashed their teeth at me.
2 Samuel 3:31 Then David said to Joab and all the people with him, "Tear your clothes and put on sackcloth and walk in mourning in front of Abner." King David himself walked behind the bier.
Those who sit at the gate mock me
Genesis 18:1 The LORD appeared to Abraham near the great trees of Mamre while he was sitting at the entrance to his tent in the heat of the day.
Genesis 23:10-11 Ephron the Hittite was sitting among his people and he replied to Abraham in the hearing of all the Hittites who had come to the gate of his city. "No, my lord," he said. "Listen to me; I give you the field, and I give you the cave that is in it. I give it to you in the presence of my people. Bury your dead."
I am the song of the drunkards
Job 30:9 "And now those young men mock me in song; I have become a byword among them."

Psalm 69:8-9
I am a foreigner to my own family, a stranger to my own mother's children; for zeal for your house consumes me, and the insults of those who insult you fall on me.
I am a foreigner to my own family, a stranger to my own mother's children
Job 19:13-15 "He has alienated my own family from me; my acquaintances are completely estranged from me. My relatives have gone away; my closest friends have forgotten me. My guests and my female servants count me a foreigner; they look on me as on a stranger."
Psalm 31:11 Because of all my enemies, I am the utter contempt of my neighbors and an object of dread to my closest friends--those who see me on the street flee from me.
Psalm 38:11 My friends and companions avoid me because of my wounds; my neighbors stay far away.
Isaiah 53:3 He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain. Like one from whom people hide their faces he was despised, and we held him in low esteem.
John 7:5 For even his own brothers did not believe in him.
for zeal for your house consumes me
John 2:16-17 To those who sold doves he said, "Get these out of here! Stop turning my Father's house into a market!" His disciples remembered that it is written: "Zeal for your house will consume me." (Psalm 69:9)
and the insults of those who insult you fall on me
Psalm 89:50-51 Remember, Lord, how your servant has been mocked, how I bear in my heart the taunts of all the nations, the taunts with which your enemies, LORD, have mocked, with which they have mocked every step of your anointed one.

Psalm 69:6-7
Lord, the LORD Almighty, may those who hope in you not be disgraced because of me; God of Israel, may those who seek you not be put to shame because of me. For I endure scorn for your sake, and shame covers my face.
For I endure scorn
Psalm 39:8 Save me from all my transgressions; do not make me the scorn of fools.
Psalm 22:6-8 But I am a worm and not a man, scorned by everyone, despised by the people. All who see me mock me; they hurl insults, shaking their heads. "He trusts in the LORD," they say, "let the LORD rescue him. Let him deliver him, since he delights in him."
Psalm 42:3 My tears have been my food day and night, while people say to me all day long, "Where is your God?"
Psalm 79:10 Why should the nations say, "Where is their God?" Before our eyes, make known among the nations that you avenge the outpoured blood of your servants.
Psalm 115:2-3 Why do the nations say, "Where is their God?" Our God is in heaven; he does whatever pleases him.
Job 2:9-10 His wife said to him, "Are you still maintaining your integrity? Curse God and die!" He replied, "You are talking like a foolish woman. Shall we accept good from God, and not trouble?" In all this, Job did not sin in what he said.
for your sake
Jeremiah 15:15 LORD, you understand; remember me and care for me. Avenge me on my persecutors. You are long-suffering--do not take me away; think of how I suffer reproach for your sake.
and shame covers my face
Psalm 44:15-16 I live in disgrace all day long, and my face is covered with shame at the taunts of those who reproach and revile me, because of the enemy, who is bent on revenge.

Job 2:9-10 His wife said to him, "Are you still maintaining your integrity? Curse God and die!" He replied, "You are talking like a foolish woman. Shall we accept good from God, and not trouble?" In all this, Job did not sin in what he said.
for your sake

Psalm 68:31
Envoys will come from Egypt; Cush will submit herself to God.
Envoys will come from Egypt
Isaiah 19:19-20 In that day there will be an altar to the LORD in the heart of Egypt, and a monument to the LORD at its border. It will be a sign and witness to the LORD Almighty in the land of Egypt. When they cry out to the LORD because of their oppressors, he will send them a savior and defender, and he will rescue them.
Isaiah 43:3 "For I am the LORD your God, the Holy one of Israel, your Savior; I give Egypt for your ransom, Cush and Seba in your stead."
Isaiah 45:14 This is what the LORD says: "The products of Egypt and the merchandise of Cush, and those tall Sabeans--they will come over to you and will be yours; they will trudge behind you, coming over to you in chains. They will bow down before you and plead with you, saying, 'Surely God is with you, and there is no other; there is no other god.' "
Cush will submit herself to God
Isaiah 11:11 In that day the Lord will reach out his hand a second time to reclaim the surviving remnant of his people from Assyria, from Lower Egypt, from Upper Egypt, from Cush, from Elam, from Babylonia, from Hamath and from the islands of the Mediterranean.
Isaiah 18:1-2 Woe to the land of whirring wings along the rivers of Cush, which sends envoys by sea in papyrus boats over the water. Go, swift messengers, to a people tall and smooth-skinned, to a people feared far and wide, an aggressive nation of strange speech, whose land is divided by rivers.
Zephaniah 3:10 "From beyond the rivers of Cush my worshipers, my scattered people, will bring me offerings."

Psalm 22:22 I will declare your name to my people; in the assembly I will praise you.
Hebrews 2:10-12 In bringing many sons and daughters to glory, it was fitting that God, for whom and through whom everything exists, should make the pioneer of their salvation perfect through what he suffered. Both the one who makes people holy and those who are made holy are of the same family. So Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers and sisters.
praise the LORD in the assembly of Israel
Leviticus 19:1-2 The LORD said to Moses, "Speak to the entire assembly of Israel and say to them: "Be holy because I, the LORD your God, am holy.' "
There is the little tribe
1 Samuel 9:21 Saul answered, "But am I not a Benjamite, from the smallest tribe of Israel, and is not my clan the least of all the clans of the tribe of Benjamin? Why do you say such a thing to me?"
of Benjamin
Genesis 49:27 "Benjamin is a ravenous wolf; in the morning he devours the prey, in the evening he divides the plunder."
Judges 5:14 Some came from Ephraim, whose roots were in Amelek; Benjamin was with the people who followed you. From Makir captains came down, from Zebulun those who bear a commander's staff.
and there the princes of Zebulun and of Naphtali
Judges 5:18 The people of Zebulun risked their very lives; so did Naphtali on the terraced fields.

Psalm 68:24-25
Your procession, God, has come into view, the procession of my God and King into the sanctuary. In front are the singers, after them the musicians; with them are the young women playing timbrels.
the procession of my God and King into the sanctuary
Psalm 63:2 I have seen you in the sanctuary and beheld your power and your glory.
In front are the singers, after them the musicians
1 Chronicles 6:31-32 These are the men David put in charge of the music in the house of the LORD after the ark came to rest there. They ministered with music before the tabernacle, the tent of meeting, until Solomon built the temple of the LORD in Jerusalem. They performed their duties according to the regulations laid down for them.
1 Chronicles 15:16 David told the leaders of the Levites to appoint their fellow Levites as musicians to make a joyful sound with musical instruments: lyres, harps and cymbals.
2 Chronicles 5:12 All the Levites who were musicians--Asaph, Heman, Jeduthun and their sons and relatives--stood on the east side of the altar, dressed in fine linen and playing cymbals, harps and lyres. They were accompanied by 120 priests sounding trumpets.
Revelation 18:22 "The music of harpists and musicians, pipers and trumpeters, will never be heard in you (the great city of Babylon). No worker of any trade will ever be found in you again. The sound of a millstone will never be heard in you again."
with them are the young women playing timbrels
Genesis 31:27 "Why did you run off secretly and deceive me? Why didn't you tell me, so I could send you away with joy and singing to the music of timbrels and harps?" (Laban speaking to Jacob)
Isaiah 5:11-13 Woe to those who rise early in the morning to run after their drinks, who stay up late at night till they are inflamed with wine. They have harps and lyres at their banquets, pipes and timbrels and wine, but they have no regard for the deeds of the LORD, no respect for the work of his hands. Therefore my people will go into exile for lack of understanding; those of high rank will die of hunger and the common people will be parched with thirst.

Psalm 68:21-23
Surely God will crush the heads of his enemies, the hairy crowns of those who go on in their sins. The LORD says, "I will bring them from Bashan; I will bring them from the depths of the sea, that your feet may wade in the blood of your foes, while the tongues of the dogs have their share."
Surely God will crush the heads of his enemies
Psalm 74:14 It was you who crushed the heads of Leviathan and gave it as food to the creatures of the desert.
Psalm 110:5 The Lord is at your right hand; he will crush kings on the day of his wrath.
Habakkuk 3:13 You came out to deliver your people, to save your anointed one. You crushed the leader of the land of wickedness, you stripped him from head to foot.
I will bring them from the depths of the sea
Job 36:30 "See how he scatters his lightning about him, bathing the depths of the sea."
Isaiah 51:10 Was it not you who dried up the sea, the waters of the great deep, who made a road in the depths of the sea so that the redeemed might cross over?
Matthew 18:6 "If anyone causes one of these little ones--those who believe in me--to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea."
that your feet may wade in the blood of your foes
Psalm 58:10 The righteous will be glad when they are avenged, when they dip their feet in the blood of the wicked.
while the tongues of the dogs have their share
1 Kings 21:17-19 Then the word of the LORD came to Elijah the Tishbite: "Go down to meet Ahab king of Israel, who rules in Samaria. He is now in Naboth's vineyard, where he has gone to take possession of it. Say to him, 'This is what the LORD says: Have you not murdered a man and seized his property?' Then say to him, 'This is what the LORD says: In the place where dogs licked up Naboth's blood, dogs will lick up your blood--yes, yours!' "
2 Kings 9:36-37 They went back and told Jehu, who said, "This is the word of the LORD that he spoke through his servant Elijah the Tishbite: On the plot of ground at Jezreel dogs will devour Jezebel's flesh. Jezebel's body will be like dung on the ground in the plot at Jezreel, so that no one will be able to say, 'This is Jezebel.' "

Psalm 68:19-20
Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior, who daily bears our burdens. Our God is a God who saves; from the Sovereign LORD comes escape from death.
Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior
Psalm 65:5-8 You answer us with awesome and righteous deeds, God our Savior, the hope of all the ends of the earth and of the farthest seas, who formed the mountains by your power, having armed yourself with strength, who stilled the roaring of the seas, the roaring of their waves, and the turmoil of the nations. The whole earth is filled with your wonders; where morning dawns, where evening fades, you call forth songs of joy.
who daily bears our burdens
Psalm 81:6 "I removed the burden from their shoulders; their hands were set free from the basket."
Our God is a God who saves
1 Samuel 10:17-19 Samuel summoned the people of Israel to the LORD at Mizpah and said to them, "This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: 'I brought Israel up out of Egypt, and I delivered you from the power of Egypt and all the kingdoms that oppressed you.' but you have now rejected your God, who saves you out of all your disasters and calamities. And you have said, 'No, appoint a king over us.' So now present yourselves before the LORD by your tribes and clans."
from the Sovereign LORD comes escape from death
Psalm 56:13 For you have delivered me from death and my feet from stumbling, that I may walk before God in the light of life.
Jeremiah 45:4-5 "But the LORD has told me to say to you (Baruch), 'This is what the LORD says: I will overthrow what I have built and uproot what I have planted, throughout the earth. Should you then seek great things for yourself? Do not seek them. For I will bring disaster on all people, declares the LORD, but wherever you go I will let you escape with your life.' "
Ezekiel 6:8 " 'But I will spare some, for some of you will escape the sword when you are scattered among the lands and nations.' "
