GRACE 2 Corinthians 9:13-15

Because of the service by which you have proved yourselves, others will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ, and for your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else. And in their prayers for you their hearts will go out to you, because of the surpassing grace God has given you. Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!

Because of the service by which you have proved yourselves
2 Corinthians 8:4  ... they urgently pleaded with us for the privilege of sharing in this service to the Lord's people.

others will praise God
Matthew 9:8  When the crowd saw this, they were filled with awe; and they praised God, who had given such authority to man.

for the obedience that accompanies your confession
Hebrews 3:1  Therefore, holy brothers and sisters, who share in the heavenly calling, fix your thoughts on Jesus, whom we acknowledge as our apostle and high priest.

of the gospel of Christ
2 Corinthians 2:12  Now when I went to Troas to preach the gospel of Christ and found that the Lord had opened a door for me, ...

and for your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else
2 Corinthians 9:5  So I thought it necessary to urge the brothers to visit you in advance and finish the arrangements for the generous gift you had promised. Then it will be ready as a generous gift, not as one grudgingly given.

Thanks be to God
2 Corinthians 2:14  But thanks be to God, who always leads us as captives in Christ's triumphal procession and uses us to spread the aroma of the knowledge of him everywhere.

for his indescribable gift!
Romans 5:15-17  But the gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died by the trespass of the one man (Adam), how much more did God's grace and the gift that came by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, overflow to the many! Nor can the gift of God be compared with the result of one man's sin: The judgment followed one sin and brought condemnation, but the gift followed many trespasses and brought justification. For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God's abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ!

GRACE 2 Corinthians 8:8-9

I am not commanding you, but I want to test the sincerity of your love by comparing it with the earnestness of others. For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich.

I am not commanding you
1 Corinthians 7:6  I say this as a concession, not as a command.

For you know the grace
Romans 3:24  ... and all justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.

of our Lord Jesus Christ
2 Corinthians 13:14  May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.

that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor
Matthew 20:28  "... just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."
Philippians 2:6-8  Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death--even death on a cross!

so that you through his poverty might become rich
2 Corinthians 6:10  ... sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; poor, yet making many rich; having nothing, and yet possessing everything.

SEEK Hebrews 11:6

And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

Hebrews 7:18-19  The former regulation is set aside because it was weak and useless (for the law made nothing perfect), and a better hope is introduced, by which we draw near to God.
Hebrews 4:16  Let us then approach God's throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
Hebrews 10:22-23  ... let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.
James 4:7-8a  Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to God and he will come hear to you.

GRACE 2 Corinthians 8:6-7

So we urged Titus, just as he had earlier made a beginning, to bring also to completion this act of grace on your part. But since you excel in everything--in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in the love we have kindled in you--see that you also excel in this grace of giving.

So we urged
2 Corinthians 8:17  For Titus not only welcomed our appeal, but he is coming to you with much enthusiasm and on his own initiative.
2 Corinthians 12:18  I urged Titus to go to you and I sent our brother with him. Titus did not exploit you, did he? Did we not walk in the same footsteps by the same Spirit?

Titus
2 Corinthians 8:23  As for Titus, he is my partner and co-worker among you; as for our brothers, they are representatives of the churches and an honor to Christ.
2 Corinthians 2:13  I still had no peace of mind, because I did not find my brother Titus there. So I said goodbye to them and went on to Macedonia.

to bring also to completion, this act of grace on your part
2 Corinthians 8:10-11  And here is my judgment about what is best for you in this matter. Last year you were the first not only to give but also to have the desire to do so. Now finish the work, so that your eager willingness to do it may be matched by your completion of it, according to your means.

But since you excel in everything
2 Corinthians 9:8  And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.

in faith, in speech, in knowledge
Romans 15:14  I myself am convinced, my brothers and sisters, that you yourselves are full of goodness, filled with knowledge and competent to instruct one another.
1 Corinthians 1:5  For in him you have been enriched in every way--with all kinds of speech and with all knowledge--...
1 Corinthians 12:8  To one there is given through the Spirit a message of wisdom, to another, a message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, ...
1 Corinthians 13:1-2  If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.
1 Corinthians 14:6  Now, brothers and sisters, if I come to you and speak in tongues, what good will I be to you, unless I bring you some revelation or knowledge or prophecy or word of instruction?

SEEK 1 Corinthians 10:23-24

"I have the right to do anything," you say--but not everything is beneficial. "I have the right to do anything"--but not everything is constructive. No one should seek their own good, but the good of others.

but not everything is beneficial
1 Corinthians 6:12  "I have the right to do anything," you say--but not everything is beneficial. "I have the right to do anything"--but I will not be mastered by anything.

No one should seek their own good, but the good of others
1 Corinthians 10:31-33  So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. Do not cause anyone to stumble, whether Jews, Greeks or the church of God--even as I try to please everyone in every way. For I am not seeking my own good but the good of many, so that they may be saved.
Romans 15:1-2  We who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak and not to please ourselves. Each of us should please our neighbors for their good, to build them up.
1 Corinthians 13:5  It (love) does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
Philippians 2:21  For everyone looks out for their own interests, not those of Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians 9:22  To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some.
Romans 11:13-14  I am talking to you Gentiles. Inasmuch as I am the apostle to the Gentiles, I take pride in my ministry in the hope that I may somehow arouse my own people to envy and save some of them.

GRACE 2 Corinthians 8:1-5

And now brothers and sisters, we want you to know about the grace that God has given the Macedonian churches. In the midst of a very severe trial, their overflowing joy and their extreme poverty welled up in rich generosity. For I testify that they gave as much as they were able, and even beyond their ability. Entirely on their own, they urgently pleaded with us for the privilege of sharing in this service to the Lord's people. And they exceeded our expectations: They gave themselves first of all to the Lord, and then by the will of God also to us.

we want you to know about the grace that God has given the Macedonian churches
Acts 16:9  During the night Paul had a vision of a man of Macedonia standing and begging him, "Come over to Macedonia and help us."

their overflowing joy and their extreme poverty welled up in rich generosity
Exodus 36:4-5  So all the skilled workers who were doing all the work on the sanctuary left what they were doing and said to Moses, "The people are bringing more than enough for doing the work the LORD commanded to be done."
2 Corinthians 9:11  Now finish the work, so that your eager willingness to do it may be matched by your completion of it, according to your means.

For I testify that they gave as much as they were able
1 Corinthians 16:2  On the first day of every week, each one of you should set aside a sum of money in keeping with your income, saving it up, so that when I come no collections will have to be made.

they urgently pleaded with us for the privilege of sharing in this service
Acts 24:17  "After an absence of several years, I came to Jerusalem to bring my people gifts for the poor and to present offerings."

to the Lord's people
Acts 9:13  "Lord," Ananias answered, "I have heard many reports about this man and all the harm he has done to your holy people in Jerusalem."

They gave themselves first to the Lord
2 Corinthians 12:9-10  But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

SEEK Romans 10:20

And Isaiah boldly says, "I was found by those who did not seek me; I revealed myself to those who did not ask for me."

Isaiah 65:1  "I revealed myself to those who did not ask for me; I was found by those who did not seek me. To a nation that did not call on my name, I said, 'Here am I, here am I.' "

Romans 9:30-33  What then shall we say? That the Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, have obtained it, a righteousness that is by faith; but the people of Israel, who pursued the law as a way of righteousness, have not attained their goal. Why not? Because they pursued it not by faith but as if it were by works. They stumbled over the stumbling stone. As it is written: "See, I lay in Zion a stone that causes people to stumble and a rock that makes them fall, and the one who believes in him will never be put to shame." (Isaiah 8:14; 28:16)

GRACE 2 Corinthians 6:1-2

As God's co-workers we urge you not to receive God's grace in vain. For he says, "In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you." I tell you, now is the time of God's favor, now is the day of salvation.

As God's co-workers
1 Corinthians 3:9  For we are co-workers in God's service; you are God's field, God's building.
2 Corinthians 5:20  We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God.

we urge you not to receive God's grace in vain
1 Corinthians 15:1-2  Now brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.
2 Corinthians 5:15  And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.

For he says, "In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you."
Isaiah 49:8  This is what the LORD says: "In the time of my favor I will answer you, and in the day of salvation I will help you; I will keep you and will make you to be a covenant for the people, to restore the land and to reassign its desolate inheritances, ..."
Psalm 69:13  But I pray to you, LORD, in the time of your favor; in your great love, O God, answer me with your sure salvation.
Isaiah 55:6-7  Seek the LORD while he may be found; call on him while he is near. Let the wicked forsake their ways and the unrighteous their thoughts. Let them turn to the LORD, and he will have mercy on them, and to our God, for he will freely pardon.
Psalm 32:6-7  Therefore let all the faithful pray to you while you may be found; surely the rising of the mighty waters will not reach them. You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance.

SEEK Romans 3:9-11

What shall we conclude then? Do we have any advantage? Not at all! For we have already made the charge that Jews and Gentiles alike are all under the power of sin. As it is written: "There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands; there is no one who seeks God." (Psalm 14:1-3; 53:1-3; Ecclesiastes 7:20)

Do we have any advantage?
Romans 3:1-4  What advantage, then, is there is being a Jew, or what value is there in circumcision? Much in every way! First of all, the Jews have been entrusted with the very words of God. What if some were unfaithful? Will their unfaithfulness nullify God's faithfulness? Not at all! Let God be true, and every human being a liar. As it is written: "So that you may be proved right when you speak and prevail when you judge." (Psalm 51:4)

Jews and Gentiles alike are all under the power of sin
Romans 3:19  Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God.
Romans 3:23  ... for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, ...
1 Kings 8:46  "When they sin against you--for there is no one who does not sin--and you become angry with them and give them over to their enemies, who take them captive to their own lands, far away or near; ..."
2 Chronicles 6:36  "When they sin against you--for there is no one who does not sin--and you become angry with them and give them over to the enemy, who takes them captive to a land far away or near; ..."
Psalm 106:6  We have sinned, even as our ancestors did; we have done wrong and acted wickedly.
Romans 5:12  Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned--...
Romans 11:32  For God has bound everyone over to disobedience so that he may have mercy on them all.
Galatians 3:22  But Scripture has locked up everything under the control of sin, so that what was promised, being given through faith in Jesus Christ, might be given to those who believe.

GRACE 2 Corinthians 4:13-15 Part 2 of 2

It is written: "I believed; therefore I have spoken." Since we have that same spirit of faith, we also believe and therefore speak, because we know that the one who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead will also raise us with Jesus and present us with you to himself. All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God.

and present us with you to himself
Ephesians 5:27  ... and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.
Colossians 1:22-23  But now he has reconciled you by Christ's physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation--if you continue in your faith, established and firm, and do not move from the hope held out in the gospel. This is the gospel that you heard and that has been proclaimed to every creature under heaven, and of which I, Paul, have become a servant.
Jude 24-25  To him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy--to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen.

so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God
2 Corinthians 1:11b  Then many will give thanks on our behalf for the gracious favor granted us in answer to the prayers of many.
2 Corinthians 9:11  You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.

SEEK John 8:50-51

"I am not seeking glory for myself; but there is one who seeks it, and he is the judge. Very truly I tell you, whoever obeys my word will never see death."

I am not seeking glory for myself
John 8:54  Jesus replied, "If I glorify myself, my glory means nothing. My Father, whom you claim as your God, is the one who glorifies me."
John 5:41-44  "I do not accept glory from human beings, but I know you. I know that you do not have the love of God in your hearts. I have come in my Father's name, and you do not accept me; but if someone else comes in his own name, you will accept him. How can you believe since you accept glory from one another but do not seek the glory that comes from the only God?"

whoever obeys my word will never see death
John 11:25-26  Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?"

GRACE 2 Corinthians 4:13-15 Part 1 of 2

It is written: "I believed; therefore I have spoken." Since we have that same spirit of faith, we also believe and therefore speak, because we know that the one who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead will also raise us with Jesus and present us with you to himself. All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God.

It is written: "I believed; therefore I have spoken."
Psalm 116:10-11  I trusted in the LORD when I said, "I am greatly afflicted"; in my alarm I said, "Everyone is a liar."

since we have the same spirit of faith
1 Corinthians 12:9  ... to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, ...

because we know that the one who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead
Acts 2:24  "But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him."

will also raise us with Jesus
1 Thessalonians 4:14-17  For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. According to the Lord's word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.

SEEK John 5:44

"How can you believe since you accept glory from one another but do not seek the glory that comes from the only God?"

Romans 2:29  No, a person is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is circumcision of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the written code. Such a person's praise is not from other people, but from God.
John 12:42-43  Yet at the same time many even among the leaders believed in him. But because of the Pharisees they would not openly acknowledge their faith for fear they would be put out of the synagogue; for they loved human praise more than praise from God.
1 Corinthians 4:5  Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait until the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of the heart. At that time each will receive their praise from God.
2 Corinthians 10:18  For it is not the one who commends himself who is approved, but the one whom the Lord commends.
Galatians 1:10  Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.
1 Thessalonians 2:4  On the contrary, we speak as those approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel. We are not trying to please people but God, who tests our hearts.
1 Peter 3:4  Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight.

GRACE 2 Corinthians 1:12

Now this is our boast: Our conscience testifies that we have conducted ourselves in the world, and especially in our relations with you, with integrity and godly sincerity. We have done so, relying not on worldly wisdom but on God's grace.

Our conscience testifies
Acts 23:1  Paul looked straight at the Sanhedrin and said, "My brothers, I have fulfilled my duty to God in all good conscience to this day."

that we have conducted ourselves in the world, and especially in our relations with you, with integrity
1 Thessalonians 2:10  You are witnesses, and so is God, of how holy, righteous and blameless we were among you who believed.

and godly sincerity
2 Corinthians 2:17-20  Was I fickle when I intended to do this? Or do I make my plans in a worldly manner so that in the same breath I say both "Yes, yes" and No, no"? But as surely as God is faithful, our message to you is "Yes" and "No". For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us--by me and Silas and Timothy--was not "Yes" and "No", but in him it has always been "Yes". For no matter how many promises God has made, they are "Yes" in Christ. And so through him the "Amen" is spoken by us to the glory of God.

We have done so, relying not on worldly wisdom but on God's grace
1 Corinthians 1:17  For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel--not with wisdom and eloquence, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power.
1 Corinthians 2:1  And so it was with me, brothers and sisters. When I came to you, I did not come with eloquence or human wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God.
1 Corinthians 1:4-5  My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit's power, so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God's power.
1 Corinthians 2:13-16  This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual realities with Spirit-taught words. The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit. The person with the Spirit makes judgments about all things, but such a person is not subject to merely human judgments, for, "Who has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?" (Isaiah 40:13) But we have the mind of Christ.

SEEK John 5:28-30

"Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice and come out--those who have done what is good will rise to live, and those who have done what is evil will rise to be condemned. By myself I can do nothing; I judge only as I hear, and my judgment is just, for I seek not to please myself but him who sent me."

a time is coming
John 4:21  "Woman," Jesus replied, "believe me, a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem."
John 16:2  "They will put you out of the synagogue; in fact, the time is coming when anyone who kills you will think they are offering a service to God."

those who have done what is evil will rise to be condemned
Matthew 25:46  "Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life."

By myself I can do nothing
John 5:19  Jesus gave them this answer: "Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does."

my judgment is just
Isaiah 28:6  He will be a spirit of justice to the one who sits in judgment, a source of strength to those who turn back the battle at the gate.
John 8:16  "But if I do judge, my decisions are true, because I am not alone. I stand with the Father, who sent me."

for I seek not to please myself but him who sent me
Matthew 26:39  Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, "My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will."

GRACE 1 Corinthians 15:10

But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them--yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me.

But by the grace of God I am what I am
Romans 3:24  ... and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.

and his grace to me was not without effect
Romans 12:3  For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you.

No, I worked harder than all of them
2 Corinthians 11:23  Are they servants of Christ? (I am out of my mind to talk like this.) I am more. I have worked much harder, been in prison more frequently, been flogged more severely, and been exposed to death again and again.
Colossians 1:29  To this end I strenuously contend with all the energy Christ so powerfully works in me.

yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me
Philippians 2:12-13  Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed--not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence--continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.

SEEK John 4:23-24

"Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth."

Yet a time is coming and has now come
John 5:24-27  "Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes in him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life. Very truly I tell you, a time is coming and has now come when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God and those who hear will live. For as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son also to have life in himself. And he has given him authority to judge because he is the Son of Man."
John 16:32-33  "A time is coming and in fact has come when you will be scattered, each to your own home. You will leave me all alone. Yet I am not alone, for my Father is with me. I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."

when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth
Philippians 3:3  For it is we who are the circumcision, we who serve God by his Spirit, who boast in Christ Jesus, and who put no confidence in the flesh--...
Titus 3:3-7  At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another. But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.

GRACE 1 Corinthians 3:10

By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as a wise builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should build with care.

By the grace God has given me
Romans 12:3  For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you.

I laid a foundation as a wise builder
Romans 15:20  It has always been my ambition to preach the gospel where Christ was not known, so that I would not be building on someone else's foundation.
Ephesians 2:19-22  Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God's people and also members of his household, built on the foundations of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.

SEEK Luke 19:9-10

Jesus said to him, "Today salvation has come to this house, because this man, too, is a son of Abraham. For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost."

Today salvation has come to this house, because this man, too, is a son of Abraham
Luke 3:7-8  John said to the crowds coming out to be baptized by him, "You brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the coming wrath? Produce fruit in keeping with repentance. And do not begin to say to yourselves, 'We have Abraham as our father.' For I tell you that out of these stones God can raise up children for Abraham."
Romans 4:11-12  And he (Abraham) received circumcision as a sign, a seal of the righteousness that he had by faith while he was still uncircumcised. So then, he is the father of all who believe but have not been circumcised, in order that righteousness might be credited to them. And he is then also the father of the circumcised who not only are circumcised but who also follow in the footsteps of the faith that our father Abraham had before he was circumcised.

For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost
Ezekiel 34:12  " 'As a shepherd looks after his scattered flock when he is with them, so will I look after my sheep. I will rescue them from all the places where they were scattered on a day of clouds and darkness.' "
Ezekiel 34:16  " 'I will search for the lost and bring back the strays. I will bind up the injured and strengthen the weak, but the sleek and the strong I will destroy. I will shepherd the flock with justice.' "
John 3:16-17  For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

GRACE 1 Corinthians 1:3-6

Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. I always thank my God for you because of his grace given you in Christ Jesus. For in him you have been enriched in every way--with all kinds of speech and with all knowledge--God thus confirming our testimony about Christ among you.

Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ
Romans 1:7  To all in Rome who are loved by God and called to be his holy people: Grace and peace to you from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ.

I always thank my God for you because of the grace given you in Christ Jesus
Romans 1:8  First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith is being reported all over the world.

For in him you have been enriched in every way
2 Corinthians 9:11  You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.

with all kinds of speech and with all knowledge
2 Corinthians 8:7  But since you excel in everything--in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in the love we have kindled in you--see that you also excel in this grace of giving.

God thus confirming our testimony about Christ among you
2 Thessalonians 1:10  ... on the day he comes to be glorified in his holy people and to be marveled at among all those who have believed. This includes you, because you believed our testimony to you.
1 Timothy 2:5-6  For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all people. This has now been witnessed to at the proper time.
Revelation 1:1-3  The revelation from Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants what must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John, who testifies to everything he saw--that is, the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ. Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near.

SEEK Luke 12:27-31

"Consider how the wild flowers grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much more will he clothe you--you of little faith! And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink; do not worry about it. For the pagan world runs after all such things, and your Father knows that you need them. But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well."

not even Solomon in all his splendor
1 Kings 10:4-7  When the queen of Sheba saw all the wisdom of Solomon and the palace he had built, the food on his table, the seating of his officials, the attending servants in their robes, his cupbearers, and the burnt offerings he made at the temple of the LORD, she was overwhelmed. She said to the king, "The report I heard in my own country about your achievements and your wisdom is true. But I did not believe these things until I came and saw with my own eyes. Indeed, not even half was told me; in wisdom and wealth you have far exceeded the report I heard."

you of little faith
Matthew 6:30  If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you--you of little faith?"

your Father
Luke 6:36  "Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful."

knows that you need them
Matthew 6:8  "Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him."

But seek his kingdom
Matthew 3:1-2  In those days John the Baptist came preaching in the wilderness of Judea and saying, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near."

and these things will be given to you as well
Matthew 19:29  "And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or fields for my sake will receive  a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life."

GRACE Romans 16:20

The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you.

The God of peace
Romans 15:33  The God of peace be with you all. Amen.

will soon crush
Genesis 3:15  "And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel."

Satan under your feet
Matthew 4:10  Jesus said to him, "Away from me, Satan! For it is written: 'Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.' "

The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you
2 Corinthians 13:14  May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
Galatians 6:18  The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit, brothers and sisters. Amen.
1 Thessalonians 5:28  The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
Revelations 22:20-21  He who testifies to these things says, "Yes, I am coming soon." Amen. Come Lord Jesus. The grace of the Lord Jesus be with God's people. Amen.

SEEK Matthew 7:7-8 Part 2 of 2

"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened."

Ask and it will be given to you
James 4:2-3  You desire but do not have, so you kill. You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask God. When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.
James 5:16  Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.
1 John 3:21-22  Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God and receive from him anything we ask, because we keep his commands and do what pleases him.
1 John 5:14-15  This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us--whatever we ask--we know that we have what we asked of him.

the one who seeks finds
Proverbs 8:17  "I love those who love me, and those who seek me find me." (wisdom speaking)
Jeremiah 29:12-13  "Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart."

GRACE Romans 15:15-16

Yet I have written you quite boldly on some points to remind you of them again, because of the grace of God gave me to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles. He gave me the priestly duty of proclaiming the gospel of God, so that the Gentiles might become an offering acceptable to God, sanctified by the Holy Spirit.

because of the grace God gave me
Romans 12:3  For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you.

to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles
Acts 9:15  But the Lord said to Ananias, "Go! This man is my chosen instrument to proclaim my name to the Gentiles and their kings and to the people of Israel."

He gave me the priestly duty of proclaiming the gospel of God
Romans 15:19b  So from Jerusalem all the way around to Illyricum, I have fully proclaimed the gospel of Christ.
Romans 1:1-6  Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle and set apart for the gospel of God--the gospel he promised beforehand through his prophets in the Holy Scriptures regarding his Son, who as to his earthly life was a descendant of David, and who through the Spirit of holiness was appointed the Son of God in power by his resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ our Lord. Through him we received grace and apostleship to call all the Gentiles to the obedience that comes from faith for his name's sake. And you also are among those Gentiles who are called to belong to Jesus Christ.

so that the Gentiles might become an offering acceptable to God
Isaiah 66:19-20  "I will set a sign among them, and I will send some of those who survive to the nations--to Tarshish, to the Libyans and Lydians (famous as archers), to Tubal and Greece, and to the distant islands that have not heard of my fame or seen my glory. They will proclaim my glory among the nations. And they will bring all your people, from all the nations, to my holy mountain in Jerusalem as an offering to the LORD--on horses, in chariots and wagons, and on mules and camels," says the LORD. "They will bring them, as the Israelites bring their grain offerings, to the temple of the LORD in ceremonially clean vessels."

SEEK Matthew 7:7-8 Part 1 of 2

"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened."

Ask and it will be given to you
1 Kings 3:5  At Gibeon the LORD appeared to Solomon during the night in a dream, and God said, "Ask for whatever you want me to give you."
Matthew 18:19  "Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven."
Matthew 21:22  "If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer."
John 14:13-14  "And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it."
John 15:7  "If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you."
John 15:16  "You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit--fruit that will last--and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you."
John 16:23-24  "In that day you will no longer ask me anything. Very truly I tell you, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete."
James 1:5-8  If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do.

GRACE Romans 12:6-8 Part 2 of 2

We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.

if it is to encourage, then give encouragement
Acts 11:23   When he arrived and saw what the grace of God had done, he was glad and encouraged them all to remain true to the Lord with all their hearts.
Acts 13:15  After the reading from the Law and the Prophets, the leaders of the synagogue sent word to them, saying, "Brothers, if you have a word of exhortation for the people, please speak."
Acts 15:32  Judas and Silas, who themselves were prophets, said much to encourage and strengthen the believers.

if it is giving, then give generously
2 Corinthians 8:2  In the midst of a very severe trial, their overflowing joy and their extreme poverty welled up in rich generosity.
2 Corinthians 9:6-8  Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.

SEEK Matthew 6:32-34

"For pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."

your heavenly Father knows that you need them
Matthew 6:8  "Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him."

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness
Matthew 3:1-2  In those days John the Baptist came, preaching in the wilderness of Judea and saying, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near."
Matthew 5:6  "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled."
Matthew 5:10  "Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven."
Matthew 5:20  "For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven."
Matthew 6:1-2  "Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven. So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full."

and all these things will be given to you as well
Psalm 37:4  Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 19:29-30  "And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life. But many who are first will be last, and many who are last will be first."

GRACE Romans 12:6-8 Part 1 of 2

We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.

We have different gifts
1 Corinthians 7:7  I wish that all of you were as I am. But each of you has your own gift from God; one has this gift, another that.
1 Corinthians 12:4  There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them.
1 Corinthians 12:8-10  To one there is given through the Spirit a message of wisdom, to another a message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, to another faith by that same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues.

if your gift is prophesying
Ephesians 4:11-13  So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

then prophesy in accordance with your faith
1 Peter 4:10-11  Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.

SEEK Malachi 3:1

"I will send my messenger, who will prepare the way before me. Then suddenly the Lord you are seeking will come to his temple; the messenger of the covenant, whom you desire, will come," Says the LORD Almighty.

I will send my messenger
Numbers 27:21  "He (Joshua) is to stand before Eleazar the priest, who will obtain decisions for him by inquiring of the Urim before the LORD. At his command he and the entire community of the Israelites will go out, and at his command they will come in."
2 Chronicles 36:15  The LORD, the God of their ancestors, sent word to them through his messengers again and again, because he had pity on his people and on his dwelling place.

who will prepare the way before me
Isaiah 40:3  A voice of one calling: "In the wilderness prepare the way for the LORD; make straight in the desert a highway for our God."
Matthew 3:3  This is he who was spoken of through the prophet Isaiah: "A voice of one calling in the wilderness, 'Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.' "
Matthew 11:10  "This is the one about whom it is written: 'I will send my messenger ahead of you, who will prepare your way before you.' "
Mark 1:1-3  The beginning of the good news about Jesus the Messiah, the Son of God, as it is written in Isaiah the prophet: "I will send my messenger ahead of you, who will prepare your way"--"a voice of one calling in the wilderness, 'Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.' "
Luke 7:27  "This is the one about whom it is written: 'I will send my messenger ahead of you, who will prepare your way before you.' " (John the Baptist)

Then suddenly the Lord you are seeking
Micah 5:2  "But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times."

the messenger of the covenant
Isaiah 42:6-7  "I, the LORD, have called you in righteousness; I will take hold of your hand. I will keep you and will make you to be a covenant for the people and a light for the Gentiles, to open eyes that are blind, to free captives from prison and to release from the dungeon those who sit in darkness."

whom you desire, will come
1 Samuel 9:20  "As for the donkeys you lost three days ago, do not worry about them; they have been found. And to whom is all the desire of Israel turned, if not to you (Saul) and your whole family line?"
Haggai 2:7  "I will shake all nations, and what is desired by all nations will come, and I will fill this house with glory," says the LORD Almighty.

He gave me the priestly duty of proclaiming the gospel of God, so that the Gentiles might become an offering acceptable to God, sanctified by the Holy Spirit.
1 Corinthians 15:10  But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them--yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me.
Galatians 2:9  James, Cephas and John, those esteemed as pillars, gave me and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship when they recognized the grace given to me. They agreed that we should go to the Gentiles, and they to the circumcised.
Ephesians 3:7  I became a servant of this gospel by the gift of God's grace given me through the working of his power.
Ephesians 4:7  But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it.
1 Peter 4:10-11  Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms.
