Romans 15:7-9 Part 3 of 4

Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God. For I tell you that Christ has become a servant of the Jews on behalf of God's truth, so that the promises made to the patriarchs might be confirmed and, moreover, that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy. As it is written: "Therefore I will praise you among the Gentiles; I will sing the praises of your name."

might glorify God for his mercy
Matthew 9:8  When the crowd saw this, they were filled with awe; and they praised God, who had given such authority to man.
Matthew 5:16  "In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven."
Matthew 15:31  The people were amazed when they saw the mute speaking, the crippled made well, the lame walking and the blind seeing. And they praised the God of Israel.
Luke 7:16  They were all filled with awe and praised God. "A great prophet has appeared among us," they said. "God has come to help his people."
Luke 13:13  Then he put his hands on her, and immediately she straightened up and praised God.
Luke 17:15  One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice.
Luke 23:47  The centurion, seeing what had happened, praised God and said, "Surely this was a righteous man."
John 15:8  "This is to my Father's glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples."
Acts 4:21-22  After further threats they let them go. They could not decide how to punish them, because all the people were praising God for what had happened. For the man who was miraculously healed was over forty years old.
Acts 11:18  When they heard this, they had no further objections and praised God, saying, "So then, even to the Gentiles God has granted repentance that leads to life."
Acts 21:20  When they heard this, they praised God. Then they said to Paul: "You see, brother, how many thousands of Jews have believed, and all of them are zealous for the law."

Romans 15:7-9 Part 2 of 4

Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God. For I tell you that Christ has become a servant of the Jews on behalf of God's truth, so that the promises made to the patriarchs might be confirmed and, moreover, that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy. As it is written: "Therefore I will praise you among the Gentiles; I will sing the praises of your name."

and, moreover, that the Gentiles
Romans 3:29-30  Or is God the God of Jews only? Is he not the God of the Gentiles too? Yes, of Gentiles too, since there is only one God, who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through that same faith.
Acts 10:34-35  Then Peter began to speak: "I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism but accepts from every nation the one who fears him and does what is right."
Romans 9:22-24  What if God, although choosing to show his wrath and make his power known, bore with great patience the objects of his wrath--prepared for destruction? What if he did this to make the riches of his glory known to the objects of his mercy, whom he prepared in advance for his glory--even us, whom he also called, not only from the Jews but also from the Gentiles?
Romans 10:12-13  For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile--the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." (Joel 2:32)
Galatians 3:28  There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

Romans 15:7-9 Part 1 of 4

Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God. For I tell you that Christ has become a servant of the Jews on behalf of God's truth, so that the promises made to the patriarchs might be confirmed and, moreover, that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy. As it is written: "Therefore I will praise you among the Gentiles; I will sing the praises of your name."

Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you
Romans 14:1  Accept the one whose faith is weak, without quarreling over disputable matters.

Christ has become a servant of the Jews on behalf of God's truth
Matthew 15:24  He answered, "I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel."
Acts 3:24-26  "Indeed, beginning with Samuel, all the prophets who have spoken have foretold these days. And you are heirs of the prophets and of the covenant God made with your fathers. He said to Abraham, 'Through your offspring all peoples on earth will be blessed.' (Genesis 22:18; 26:4) When God raised up his servant, he sent him first to you to bless you by turning each of you from your wicked ways."
Matthew 10:5-6  These twelve Jesus sent out with the following instructions: "Do not go among the Gentiles or enter any town of the Samaritans. Go rather to the lost sheep of Israel."

so that the promises made to the patriarchs might be confirmed
2 Corinthians 1:20  For no matter how many promises God has made, they are "Yes" in Christ. And so through him the "Amen" is spoken by us to the glory of God.

Romans 15:5-6

May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude toward each other that Christ Jesus had, so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude toward each other that Christ Jesus had

1 Corinthians 1:10  I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought.
2 Corinthians 13:11  Finally, brothers and sisters, rejoice! Strive for full restoration, encourage one another, be of one mind, live in peace. And the God love and peace will be with you.
Ephesians 4:3  Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.
Philippians 2:1-2  Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind.
Colossians 3:14  And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.

Romans 15:3-4

For even Christ did not please himself but, as it is written: "The insults of those who insult you have fallen on me." For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope.

For Christ did not please himself
2 Corinthians 8:9  For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich.
Matthew 20:28  "... just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."
Philippians 2:6-8  Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death--even death on a cross!

"The insults of those who insult you have fallen on me."
Psalm 69:9  ... for zeal for your house consumes me, and the insults of those who insult you fall on me.
Psalm 89:50-51  Remember, Lord, how your servant has been mocked, how I bear in my heart the taunts of all the nations, the taunts with which your enemies, LORD, have mocked, with which they have mocked every step of your anointed one.

For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us
Romans 4:23-24  The words "it was credited to him" were written not for him alone, but also for us, to whom God will credit righteousness--for us who believe in him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead.
1 Corinthians 10:11  These things happened to them (see verses 1-10) as examples for us, on whom the culmination of the ages has come.
2 Timothy 3:16-17  All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Romans 15:1-2

We who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak and not to please ourselves. Each of us should please our neighbors for their good, to build them up.

We who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak
Romans 14:1  Accept the one whose faith is weak, without quarreling over disputable matters.
1 Thessalonians 5:14  And we urge you, brothers and sisters, warn those who are idle and disruptive, encourage the disheartened, help the weak, be patient with everyone.

Each of us should please our neighbors for their good
1 Corinthians 10:24  No one should seek their own good, but the good of others.
1 Corinthians 10:32-33  Do not cause anyone to stumble, whether Jews, Greeks or the church of God--even as I try to please everyone in every way. For I am not seeking my own good but the good of many, so that they may be saved.
1 Corinthians 13:5  It (love) does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrong.
Philippians 2:3-4  Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of others.
Philippians 2:21  For everyone looks out for their own interests, not those of Jesus Christ.

to build them up
Romans 14:19  Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification.
1 Corinthians 14:12  So it is with you. Since you are eager for the gifts of the Spirit, try to excel in those that build up the church.
Ephesians 4:29  Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.

Romans 14:22-23

So whatever you believe about these things keep between yourself and God. Blessed is the one who does not condemn himself by what he approves. But whoever has doubts is condemned if they eat because their eating is not from faith; and everything that does not come from faith is sin.

Blessed is the one who does not condemn himself by what he approves
1 John 3:21-23  Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God and receive from him anything we ask, because we keep his commands and do what pleases him. And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us.

But whoever has doubts is condemned if they eat because their eating is not from faith
Romans 14:4-6  One person considers one day more sacred than another; another considers every day alike. Each of them should be fully convinced in their own mind. Whoever regards one day as special does so to the Lord. Whoever eats meat does so to the Lord, for they give thanks to God; and whoever abstains does so to the Lord and gives thanks to God.
James 1:6  But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.
Jude 22  Be merciful to those who doubt; ...
Matthew 14:30-31  But when he (Peter) saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, "Lord, save me!" Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. "You of little faith," he said, "why did you doubt?"
Matthew 21:21  Jesus replied, "Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea.' and it will be done."
Mark 11:22-24  "Have faith in God," Jesus answered. "Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours."

Romans 14:20-21

Do not destroy the work of God for the sake of food. All food is clean, but it is wrong for a person to eat anything that causes someone else to stumble. It is better not to eat meat or drink wine or to do anything else that will cause your brother or sister to fall.

Do not destroy the work of God for the sake of food
Romans 14:15  If your brother or sister is distressed because of what you eat, you are no longer acting in love. Do not by your eating destroy someone for whom Christ died.

All food is clean
Romans 14:14  I am convinced, being fully persuaded in the Lord Jesus, that nothing is unclean in itself. But if anyone regards something as unclean, then for that person it is unclean.
Acts 10:15  The voice spoke to him a second time, "Do not call anything impure that God has made clean."

but it is wrong for a person to eat anything that causes someone else to stumble
Romans 14:13  Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in the way of a brother or sister.
1 Corinthians 8:9-12  Be careful that the exercise of your rights does not become a stumbling block to the weak. For if someone with a weak conscience sees you, with all your knowledge, eating in an idol's temple, won't that person be emboldened to eat what is sacrificed to idols? So this weak brother or sister, for whom Christ died, is destroyed by your knowledge. When you sin against them in this way and wound their weak conscience, you sin against Christ.

It is better not to eat meat or drink wine or to do anything else that will cause your brother or sister to fall
Luke 17:1-2  Jesus said to his disciples: "Things that cause people to stumble are bound to come, but woe to anyone through whom they come. It would be better for them to be thrown into the sea with a millstone tied around their neck than to cause one of these little ones to stumble."
1 Corinthians 8:13  Therefore, if what I eat causes my brother or sister to fall into sin, I will never eat meat again, so that I will not cause them to fall.
2 Corinthians 6:3  We put no stumbling block in anyone's path, so that our ministry will not be discredited.

Romans 14:19

Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification.

Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace
Psalm 34:14  Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.
Romans 12:18  If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.
1 Corinthians 7:15  But if the unbeliever leaves, let it be so. The brother or sister is not bound in such circumstances; God has called us to live in peace.
2 Timothy 2:22  Flee the evil desires of youth and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
Hebrews 12:14  Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord.

and to mutual edification
Romans 15:2  Each of us should please our neighbors for their good, to build them up.
1 Corinthians 14:3-5  But the one who prophesies speaks to people for their strengthening, encouraging and comfort. Anyone who speaks in a tongue edifies themselves, but the one who prophesies edifies the church. I would like every one of you to speak in tongues, but I would rather have you prophesy. The one who prophesies is greater than the one who speaks in tongues, unless someone interprets, so that the church may be edified.
1 Corinthians 14:12  So it is with you. Since you are eager for gifts of the Spirit, try to excel in those that build up the church.
Ephesians 4:11-13  So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.
Ephesians 4:29  Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.

Romans 14:16-18 Part 3 of 3

Therefore do not let what you know is good be spoken of as evil. For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit, because anyone who serves Christ in this way is pleasing to God and receives human approval.

and joy in the Holy Spirit
Romans 15:13  May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope in the power of the Holy Spirit.
Galatians 5:22-23  But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

because anyone who serves Christ in this way is pleasing to God and receives human approval
Luke 2:52  And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.
Acts 24:16  "So I strive always to keep my conscience clear before God and man."
2 Corinthians 8:21  For we are taking pains to do what is right, not only in the eyes of the Lord but also in the eyes of man.
Romans 12:17  Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone.

Romans 14:16-18 Part 2 of 3

Therefore do not let what you know is good be spoken of as evil. For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit, because anyone who serves Christ in this way is pleasing to God and receives human approval.

but of righteousness, peace
Isaiah 32:17  The fruit of that righteousness will be peace; its effect will be quietness and confidence forever.
Psalm 119:165  Great peace have those who love your law, and nothing can make them stumble.
Isaiah 9:7  Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David's throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the LORD Almighty will accomplish this.
Hebrews 12:11  No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.
James 3:18  Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness.
Psalm 37:11  But the meek will inherit the land and enjoy peace and prosperity.
Isaiah 26:3  You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.
Isaiah 26:12  LORD, you establish peace for us; all that we have accomplished you have done for us.

Romans 14:16-18 Part 1 of 3

Therefore do not let what you know is good be spoken of as evil. For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit, because anyone who serves Christ in this way is pleasing to God and receives human approval.

Therefore do not let what you know is good be spoken of as evil
1 Corinthians 10:30-31  If I take part in the meal with thankfulness, why am I denounced because of something I thank God for? So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
Romans 14:6  Whoever regards one day as special does so to the Lord. Whoever eats meat does so to the Lord, for they give thanks to God; and whoever abstains does so to the Lord and gives thanks to God.
1 Timothy 4:3-5  They forbid people to marry and order them to abstain from certain foods, which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and who know the truth. For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, because it is consecrated by the word of God and prayer.

For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking
1 Corinthians 8:8  But food does not bring us near to God; we are no worse if we do not eat, and no better if we do.

Romans 14:13-15 Part 2 of 2

Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in the way of a brother or sister. I am convinced, being fully persuaded in the Lord Jesus, that nothing is unclean in itself. But if anyone regards something as unclean, then for that person it is unclean. If your brother or sister is distressed because of what you eat, you are no longer acting in love. Do not by your eating destroy someone for whom Christ died.

But if anyone regards something as unclean, then for that person it is unclean
1 Corinthians 8:7  But not everyone possesses this knowledge. Some people are still so accustomed to idols that when they eat sacrificial food they think of it as having been sacrificed to a god, and since their conscience is weak, it is defiled.
1 Corinthians 10:28  But if someone says to you, "This has been offered in sacrifice," then do not eat it, both for the sake of the one who told you and for the sake of conscience.

If your brother or sister is distressed because of what you eat, you are no longer acting in love
Ephesians 5:1-2  Follow God's example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

Do not by your eating destroy someone for whom Christ died
Romans 14:20  Do not destroy the work of God for the sake of food. All food is clean, but it is wrong for a person to eat anything that causes someone else to stumble.
1 Corinthians 8:9-11  Be careful, however, that the exercise of your rights does not become a stumbling block to the weak. Romans 14:13-15 Part 1 of 2

Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another
Romans 14:1  Accept the one whose faith is weak, without quarreling over disputable matters.

Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in the way of a brother or sister
2 Corinthians 6:3  We put no stumbling block in anyone's path, so that our ministry will not be discredited.
Matthew 18:6-7  "If anyone causes one of these little ones--those who believe in me--to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea. Woe to the world because of the things that cause people to stumble! Such things must come, but woe to the person through whom they come!"
Romans 14:20-21  Do not destroy the work of God for the sake of food. All food is clean, but it is wrong for a person to eat anything that causes someone else to stumble. It is better not to eat meat or drink wine or to do anything else that will cause your brother or sister to fall.

Romans 14:10-12 Part 2 of 2

You, then, why do you judge your brother or sister? Or why do you treat them with contempt? For we will all stand before God's judgment seat. It is written: " 'As surely as I live,' says the Lord, 'every knee will bow before me; every tongue will acknowledge God.' " So then, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God.

" 'every knee will bow before me; every tongue will acknowledge God.' "
Isaiah 45:23  "By myself I have sworn, my mouth has uttered in all integrity a word that will not be revoked: Before me every knee will bow; by me every tongue will swear."
Philippians 2:9-11  Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

So then, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God
Matthew 12:36-37  But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken. For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned."
Proverbs 10:14  The wise store up knowledge, but the mouth of a fool invites ruin.
Proverbs 18:21  The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.
James 3:2  We all stumble in many ways. Anyone who is never at fault in what they say is perfect, able to keep their whole body in check.
Proverbs 10:19  Sin is not ended by multiplying words, but the prudent hold their tongues.
Psalm 34:12-13  Whoever of you loves life and desires to see many good days, keep your tongue from evil and your lips from telling lies.

Romans 14:10-12 Part 1 of 2

You, then, why do you judge your brother or sister? Or why do you treat them with contempt? For we will all stand before God's judgment seat. It is written: " 'As surely as I live,' says the Lord, 'every knee will bow before me; every tongue will acknowledge God.' " So then, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God.

Or why do you treat them with contempt?
Romans 14:3  The one who eats everything must not treat with contempt the one who does not, and the one who does not eat everything must not judge the one who does, for God has accepted them.
Matthew 7:1  "Do not judge, or you too will be judged."

For we will all stand before God's judgment seat
2 Corinthians 5:10  For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.
Matthew 16:27  "For the Son of Man is going to come in his Father's glory with his angels, and then he will reward each person according to what they have done."
Ephesians 6:7-8  Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not people, because you know that the Lord will reward each one for whatever good they do, whether they are slave or free.

" 'As surely as I live,' declares the Lord"
Isaiah 49:18  "Lift up your eyes and look around; all your children gather and come to you. As surely as I live," declares the LORD, "you will wear them all as ornaments; you will put them on like a bride."
Numbers 14:20-23  The LORD replied, "I have forgiven them, as you asked. Nevertheless, as surely as I live and as surely as the glory of the LORD fills the whole earth, not one of those who saw my glory and the signs I performed in Egypt and in the wilderness but who disobeyed me and tested me ten times--not one of them will ever see the land I promised on oath to their ancestors. No one who has treated me with contempt will ever see it."

Romans 14:7-9

For none of us lives for ourselves alone, and none of us dies for ourselves alone. If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we belong to the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord. For this very reason, Christ died and returned to life so that he might be the Lord of both the dead and the living.

For none of us lives for ourselves alone
2 Corinthians 5:15  And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.
Galatians 2:20  I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord
Philippians 1:20-21  I eagerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed, but will have sufficient courage so that now as always Christ will be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death. For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.

For this very reason, Christ died and returned to life
Revelation 1:18  " I am the Living One; I was dead, and now look, I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades."
Revelation 2:8  "To the angel of the church in Smyrna write: These are the words of him who is the First and the Last, who died and came to life again."

so that he might be the Lord of both the dead and the living
Acts 10:42  "He commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that he is the one whom God appointed as judge of the living and the dead."
John 5:22  "Moreover, the Father judges no one, but has entrusted all judgment to the Son, ..."
Acts 17:31  "For he has set a day when he will judge the world with justice by the man he has appointed. He has given proof of this to everyone by raising him from the dead."
2 Corinthians 5:10  For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.
2 Timothy 4:1  In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of his appearing and his kingdom, I give you this charge: ...
1 Peter 4:5  But they will have to give account to him who is ready to judge the living and the dead.

Romans 14:5-6

One person considers one day more sacred than another; another considers every day alike. Each of them should be fully convinced in their own mind. Whoever regards one day as special does so to the Lord. Whoever eats meat does so to the Lord, for they give thanks to God; and whoever abstains does so to the Lord and gives thanks to God.

One person considers one day more sacred than another
Galatians 4:8-11  Formerly, when you did not know God, you were slaves to those who by nature are not gods. [legalistic trust in rituals] But now that you know God--or rather are known by God--how is it that you are turning back to those weak and miserable forces? Do you wish to be enslaved by them all over again? You are observing special days and months and seasons and years! I fear for you, that somehow I have wasted my efforts on you.
Colossians 2:16-17  Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ.

for they give thanks to God; and whoever abstains does so to the Lord and gives thanks to God
Mark 7:18-19  "Are you so dull?" he asked. "Don't you see that nothing that enters a person from the outside can defile them? For it doesn't go into their heart but into their stomach, and then out of the body." (In saying this, Jesus declared all foods clean.)
Acts 10:15  The voice spoke to him a second time, "Do not call anything impure that God has made clean."
Romans 14:14  I am convinced, being fully persuaded in the Lord Jesus, that nothing is unclean in itself. But if anyone regards something as unclean, then for that person it is unclean.
