JESUS - Galatians 2:15-16 Part 2 of 2

"We who are Jews by birth and not sinful Gentiles know that a person is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law, because by the works of the law no one will be justified."

because by the works of the law no one will be justified
Romans 3:20  Therefore no one will be declared righteous in God's sight by the works of the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of our sin.
Philippians 3:8-9  What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ--the righteousness that comes from God on the basis of faith.
Ephesians 2:8-9  For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God--not by works, so that no one can boast.
James 2:14  What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them?
James 2:17  In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.
James 2:26  As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead. (See James 2:14-26)
Romans 4:25  He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.

JESUS - Galatians 2:15-16 Part 1 of 2

"We who are Jews by birth and not sinful Gentiles know that a person is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law, because by the works of the law no one will be justified."

We who are Jews by birth
Philippians 3:4b-5  If someone else thinks they have reasons to put confidence in the flesh, I have more: circumcised on the eighth day, of the people of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews; in regard to the law, a Pharisee; ...

and not sinful Gentiles
1 Samuel 15:17-18  Samuel said (to Saul), "Although you were once small in your own eyes, did you not become the head of the tribes of Israel? The LORD anointed you king over Israel. And he sent you on a mission, saying, 'Go and completely destroy those wicked people, the Amalekites; wage war against them until you have wiped them out.' "
Luke 24:7  " 'The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.' "

know that a person is not justified by the works of the law
Romans 3:28  For we maintain that a person is justified by faith apart from the works of the law.

but by faith in Jesus Christ
Romans 9:30-33  What then shall we say? That the Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, have obtained it, a righteousness that is by faith; but the people of Israel, who pursued the law as the way of righteousness, have not attained their goal. Why not? Because they pursued it not by faith but as if it were by works. They stumbled over the stumbling stone. As it is written: "See, I lay in Zion a stone that causes people to stumble and a rock that makes them fall, and the one who believes in him will never be put to shame." (Isaiah 8:14; 28:16)

JESUS - 2 Corinthians 13:5

Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you--unless, of course, you fail the test?

Examine yourselves
1 Corinthians 11:28  Everyone ought to examine themselves before they eat of the bread and drink from the cup.
2 Peter 1:10-11  Therefore, my brothers and sisters, make every effort to confirm your calling and election. For if you do these things (see verses 3-9), you will never stumble, and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

test yourselves
Lamentations 3:40  Let us examine our ways and test them, and let us return to the LORD.
John 6:5-6  When Jesus looked up and saw a great crowd coming toward him, he said to Philip, "Where shall we buy bread for these people to eat?" He asked this only to test him, for he already had in mind what he was going to do.

Do you not realize that Christ Jesus in in you
Romans 8:9-11  You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ. But if Christ is in you, then even though your body is subject to death because of sin, the Spirit gives life because of righteousness. And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you.

JESUS - 2 Corinthians 4:4-5

The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. For what we preach is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus' sake.

The god
John 12:31  "Now is the time for judgment on this world; now the prince of this world will be driven out."

of this age
1 Corinthians 1:20  Where is the wise person? Where is the teacher of the law? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?

has blinded the minds of unbelievers
2 Corinthians 3:14-16  But their minds were made dull, for to this day the same veil remains when the old covenant is read. It has not been removed, because only in Christ is it taken away. Even to this day when Moses is read, a veil covers their hearts. But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away.

so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ
2 Corinthians 4:6  For God, who said, "Let light shine out of darkness," made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God's glory displayed in the face of Christ.

who is the image of God
John 14:9  Jesus answered, "Don't you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, 'Show us the Father'?"

For what we preach is not ourselves
1 Corinthians 1:13  Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Were you baptized in the name of Paul?

but Jesus Christ as Lord
1 Corinthians 1:22-25  Jews demand signs and Greeks look for wisdom, but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength.

and ourselves as your servants for Jesus' sake
1 Corinthians 9:19  Though I am free and belong to no one, I have made myself a slave to everyone, to win as many as possible.

JESUS - 1 Corinthians 12:3

Therefore I want you to know that no one who is speaking by the Spirit of God says, "Jesus be cursed," and no one can say, "Jesus is Lord," except by the Holy Spirit.

no one who is speaking by the Spirit of God says, "Jesus be cursed"
Romans 9:2-5  ... I have great sorrow and unceasing anguish in my heart. For I could wish that I myself were cursed and cut off from Christ for the sake of my people, those of my own race, the people of Israel. Theirs is the adoption to sonship; theirs the divine glory, the covenants, the receiving of the law, the temple worship and the promises. Theirs are the patriarchs, and from them is traced the human ancestry of the Messiah, who is God over all, forever praised! Amen.
1 Corinthians 16:22  If anyone does not love the Lord, let that person be cursed! come, Lord!

no one can say, "Jesus is Lord"
John 13:13  "You call me 'Teacher' and 'Lord', and rightly so, for that is what I am."

except by the Holy Spirit
1 John 4:1-3  Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world.

JESUS - 1 Corinthians 8:5-6 Part 2 of 2

For even if there are so-called gods, whether in heaven or on earth (as indeed there are many "gods" and many "lords"), yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live.

from whom all things came
Romans 11:36  For from him and through him and for him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen.
Acts 4:24  When they heard this, they raised their voices together in prayer to God. "Sovereign Lord," they said, "you made the heavens and the earth and the sea and everything in them."
Hebrews 2:10  In bringing many sons and daughters to glory, it was fitting that God, for whom and through whom everything exists, should make the pioneer of their salvation perfect through what he suffered.

there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ
Ephesians 4:4-6  There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.

through whom all things came
John 1:3  Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.
Colossians 1:16  For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him.
Hebrews 1:1-2  In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe.

JESUS - 1 Corinthians 8:5-6 Part 1 of 2

For even if there are so-called gods, whether in heaven or on earth (as indeed there are many "gods" and many "lords"), yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live.

For even if there are so-called gods
2 Thessalonians 2:3-4  Don't let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God's temple, proclaiming himself to be God.

yet for us there is but one God
Deuteronomy 6:4  Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one.
1 Corinthians 8:4  So then, about eating food sacrificed to idols: We know that "An idol is nothing at all in the world" and that "There is no God but one."
1 Corinthians 10:19-20  Do I mean then that food sacrificed to an idol is anything, or that an idol is anything? No, but the sacrifices of pagans are offered to demons, not to God, and I do not want you to be participants with demons.

the Father
Malachi 2:10  Do we not all have one Father? Did not one God create us? Why do we profane the covenant of our ancestors by being unfaithful to one another?

JESUS - 1 Corinthians 6:11 Part 2 of 2

And this is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

you were justified
Romans 5:1-19  But the gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died by the trespass of the one man (Adam), how much more did God's grace and the gift that came by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, overflow to the many! Nor can the gift of God be compared with the result of one man's sin: The judgment followed one sin and brought condemnation, but the gift followed many trespasses and brought justification. For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God's abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ! Consequently, just as one trespass resulted in condemnation for all people, so also one righteous act resulted in justification and life for all people. For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.
Romans 8:28-30  And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.

JESUS - 1 Corinthians 6:11 Part 1 of 2

And this is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

And this is what some of you were
Ephesians 2:1-2  As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient.

you were washed
Acts 22:16  " 'And now what are you waiting for? Get up, be baptized and wash your sins away, calling on his name.' "

you were sanctified
1 Corinthians 1:2-3  To the church of God in Corinth, to those sanctified in Christ Jesus and called to be his holy people, together with all those everywhere who call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ--their Lord and ours: Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ

you were justified
Romans 4:25  He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.
Isaiah 53:11  After he has suffered, he will see the light of life and be satisfied; by his knowledge my righteous servant will justify many, and he will bear their iniquities.
Romans 3:24  ... and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.
Romans 5:1  Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, ...
Romans 5:9  Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God's wrath through him!

JESUS - 1 Corinthians 2:1-2

And so it was with me, brothers and sisters. When I came to you, I did not come with eloquence or human wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God. For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.

I did not come with eloquence or human wisdom
1 Corinthians 2:4  My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit's power, so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God's power.
1 Corinthians 2:12-13  What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us. This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual realities with Spirit-taught words.
1 Corinthians 1:7  For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel--not with wisdom and eloquence, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power.

For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified
Galatians 6:14  May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.

JESUS - 1 Corinthians 1:7 Part 2 of 2

Therefore you do not lack any spiritual gift as you eagerly wait for our Lord Jesus Christ to be revealed.

as you eagerly wait for our Lord Jesus Christ to be revealed
1 Thessalonians 2:19  For what is our hope, our joy, or the crown in which we will glory in the presence of our Lord Jesus when he comes? Is it not you?
Titus 2:13-14  ... while we wait for the blessed hope--the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.
James 5:7-8  Be patient, then, brothers and sisters, until the Lord's coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop, patiently waiting for the autumn and spring rains. You too, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord's coming is near.
1 Peter 1:13  Therefore, with minds that are alert and fully sober, set your hope on the grace to be brought to you when Jesus is revealed at his coming.
2 Peter 3:10-13  But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare. Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming. That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat. But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells.
Revelation 1:7  "Look, he is coming with the clouds," (Daniel 7:13) and "every eye will see him, even those who pierced him;" and "all peoples on earth will mourn because of him." (Zechariah 12:10) So shall it be! Amen.

JESUS - 1 Corinthians 1:7 Part 1 of 2

Therefore you do not lack any spiritual gift as you eagerly wait for our Lord Jesus Christ to be revealed.

Therefore you do not lack any spiritual gift
Romans 1:11-12  I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong--that is, that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other's faith.

(Also see 1 Corinthians 12:1-31 concerning spiritual gifts)

as you eagerly wait for our Lord Jesus Christ to be revealed
Matthew 16:27  "For the Son of Man is going to come in his Father's glory with his angels, and then he will reward each person according to what they have done."
Luke 17:26-30  "Just as it was in the days of Noah, so also will it be in the days of the Son of Man. People were eating, drinking, marrying and being given in marriage up to the day Noah entered the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all. It was the same in the days of Lot. People were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building. But the day Lot left Sodom, fire and sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all. It will be just like this on the day the Son of Man is revealed."
1 Thessalonians 1:9b-10  They tell us how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God, and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead--Jesus, who rescues us from the coming wrath.

JESUS - Romans 8:1-2

Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.

there is now no condemnation
Romans 8:34  Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died--more than that, who was raised to life--is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.

for those who are in Christ Jesus
Romans 8:38-39  For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, or anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

because through Christ Jesus
Romans 7:25  Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord!

the law of the Spirit who give life
1 Corinthians 15:45  So it is written: "The first man Adam became a living being" (Genesis 2:7), the last Adam, a life-giving spirit.

has set you free
John 8:31-32  To the Jews who had believed in him, Jesus said, "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."
John 8:36  "So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed."
Romans 6:18  You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness.

from the law of sin and death
Romans 6:16  Don't you know that when you offer yourselves to someone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one you obey--whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness?
Romans 7:4  So, my brothers and sisters, you also died to the law through the body of Christ, that you might belong to another, to him who was raised from the dead, in order that we might bear fruit for God.

JESUS - Romans 5:17

For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God's abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ!

For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man
Romans 5:12-14  Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned--To be sure, sin was in the world before the law was given, but sin is not charged against anyone's account where there is no law. Nevertheless, death reigned from the time of Adam to the time of Moses, even over those who did not sin by breaking a command as did Adam, who is a pattern of the one to come.

how much more will those who receive God's abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ
John 10:10-11  "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep."
2 Timothy 2:11-13  Here is a trustworthy saying: If we died with him, we will also live with him; if we endure, we will also reign with him. If we disown him, he will also disown us; if we are faithless, he remains faithful, for he cannot disown himself.
Revelation 20:4  I saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony about Jesus and because of the word of God. They had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
Revelation 20:6  Blessed and holy are those who share in the first resurrection. The second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him for a thousand years.
Revelation 22:5  There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign for ever and ever.

JESUS - Romans 3:24 Part 2 of 2

... and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.

freely by his grace
Titus 2:11  For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people.
Hebrews 4:16  Let us then approach God's throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus
Psalm 130:7-8  Israel, put your hope in the LORD, for with the LORD is unfailing love and with him is full redemption. He himself will redeem Israel from all their sins.
1 Corinthians 1:30  It is because of him (God) that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God--that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption.
Galatians 4:4-5  But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship.
Ephesians 1:7-8a  In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace that he lavished on us.
Ephesians 1:13-14  And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession--to the praise of his glory.
Colossians 1:13-14  For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
Hebrews 9:12  He did not enter by means of the blood of goats and calves; but he entered the Most Holy Place once for all by his own blood, thus obtaining eternal redemption.

JESUS - Romans 3:24 Part 1 of 2

... and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.

and all are justified
Romans 4:25  He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.

freely by his grace

John 1:16-17  Out of his fullness we have all received grace in place of grace already given. For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
Romans 4:16  Therefore, the promise comes by faith, so that it may be by grace and may be guaranteed to all Abraham's offspring--not only to those who are of the law but also to those who have the faith of Abraham. He is the father of us all.
Romans 5:20-21  The law was brought in so that the trespass might increase. But where sin increased, grace increased all the more, so that just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Romans 6:14  For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace.
Romans 11:5-6  So too, at the present time there is a remnant chosen by grace. And if by grace, then it cannot be based on works; if it were, grace would no longer be grace.
2 Corinthians 12:9  But he said, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.
Ephesians 2:8-9  For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God--not by works, so that no one can boast.
Ephesians 4:7  But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it.

JESUS - Acts 20:24

"However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me--the task of testifying to the good news of God's grace."

I consider my life worth nothing to me
Acts 21:13  Then Paul answered, "Why are you weeping and breaking my heart? I am ready not only to be bound, but also to die in Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus."

my only aim is to finish the race
2 Timothy 4:7  I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

and complete the task
2 Corinthians 4:1  Therefore, since through God's mercy we have this ministry, we do not lose heart.

the Lord Jesus has given me
Galatians 1:1  Paul, an apostle--sent not from men nor by a man, but by Jesus Christ and God the Father, who raised him from the dead--...
Titus 1:1-3  Paul, a servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ to further the faith of God's elect and their knowledge of the truth that leads to godliness--in the hope of eternal life, which God, who does not lie, promised before the beginning of time, and which now at his appointed season he has brought to light through the preaching entrusted to me by the command of God our Savior, ...

the task of testifying to the good news of God's grace
Acts 11:23  When he (Barnabas) arrived (in Antioch) and saw what the grace of God had done, he was glad and encouraged them all to remain true to the Lord with all their hearts.

JESUS - Acts 16:31

They (Paul and Silas) replied, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved--you and your household."

Believe
John 3:14-18  "Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness (Numbers 21:8-9), so the Son of Man must be lifted up, that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him." For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God's one and only Son.

and you will be saved
Romans 11:13-14  I am talking to you Gentiles. Inasmuch as I am the apostle to the Gentiles, I take pride in my ministry in the hope that I may somehow arouse my own people to envy and save some of them.

you and your household
Acts 11:13-14  "He (Cornelius) told us how he had seen an angel appear in his house and say, 'Send to Joppa for Simon who is called Peter. He will bring you a message through which you and all your household will be saved.' "
Acts 10:43  "All the prophets testify about him (Jesus) that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name."

JESUS - Acts 15:10-11 Part 2 of 2

"Now then, why do you try to test God by putting on the necks of Gentiles a yoke that neither we nor our ancestors have been able to bear? No! We believe it is through the grace of our Lord Jesus that we are saved, just as they are."

We believe it is through the grace of our Lord Jesus that we are saved
Romans 3:22-24  This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.
Galatians 2:15-16  "We who are Jews by birth and not sinful Gentiles know that a person is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law, because by the works of the law no one will be justified."
Ephesians 2:4-10  But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions--it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. For it is by grace you have been saved through faith--and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God--not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are all God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

JESUS - Acts 15:10-11 Part 1 of 2

"Now then, why do you try to test God by putting on the necks of Gentiles a yoke that neither we nor our ancestors have been able to bear? No! We believe it is through the grace of our Lord Jesus that we are saved, just as they are."

why do you try to test God
Acts 5:9  Peter said to her, "How could you conspire to test the Spirit of the Lord? Listen! The feet of the men who buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out also."

by putting on the necks of Gentiles a yoke that neither we nor our ancestors have been able to bear
Matthew 23:4  "They (teachers of the law and Pharisees) tie up heavy, cumbersome loads and put them on other people's shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them."
Galatians 5:1  It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.

Psalm 49:15-17

But God will redeem me from the realm of the dead; he will surely take me to himself. Do not be overawed when others grow rich, when the splendor of their houses increases; for they will take nothing with them when they die, their splendor will not descend with them.

Psalm 49:14

They are like sheep and are destined to die; death will be their shepherd (but the upright will prevail over them in the morning). Their forms will decay in the grave, far from their princely mansions.

They are like sheep and are destined
Jeremiah 43:11  " 'He [Nebuchadnezzar] will come and attack Egypt, bring death to those destined for death, captivity to those destined for captivity, and the sword to those destined for the sword.' "
Ezekiel 31:14  " 'Therefore no other trees by the waters are ever to tower proudly on high, lifting tops above the thick foliage. No other trees so well-watered are ever to reach such a height; they are all destined for death, for the earth below, among mortals who go down to the realm of the dead. ' " [The fall of Assyria to Lebanon]

to die
Numbers 16:29-30  "If these men die a natural death and suffer the fate of all mankind, then the LORD has not sent me [Moses]. But if the LORD brings about something totally new, and the earth opens its mouth and swallows them, with everything that belongs to them, and they go down alive into the realm of the dead, then you will know that these men have treated the LORD with contempt."
Job 21:13-15  "They [the wicked] spend their years in prosperity and go down to the grave in peace. Yet they say to God, 'Leave us alone! We have no desire to know your ways. Who is the Almighty, that we should serve him? What would we gain by serving him?' "

Psalm 49:12-13

People, despite their wealth, do not endure; they are like the beasts that perish. This is the fate of those who trust in themselves, and of their followers, who approve their sayings.

People, despite their wealth, do not endure
Job 14:1-2  "Mortals, born of woman, are of few days and full of trouble. They spring up like flowers and wither away; like fleeting shadows, they do not endure."
Ecclesiastes 3:19  Surely the fate of human beings is like that of the animals; the same fate awaits them both: As one dies, so dies the other. All have the same breath; humans have no advantage over animals. Everything is meaningless.
Ecclesiastes 7:2  It is better to go to a house of mourning than to go to a house of feasting, for death is the destiny of everyone; the living should take this to heart.

This is the fate of those who trust in themselves
Luke 12:16-21  And he told them this parable: "The ground of a certain rich man yielded an abundant harvest. He thought to himself, 'What shall I do? I have no place to store my crops.' Then he said, 'This is what I'll do. I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store my surplus grain. And I'll say to myself, "You have plenty of grain laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry." ' But God said to him, 'You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?' This is how it will be with whoever stores up things for themselves but is not rich toward God."

Psalm 49:10-11

For all can see that the wise die, that the foolish and the senseless also perish, leaving their wealth to others. Their tombs will remain their houses forever, their dwellings for endless generations, though they had named lands after themselves.

For all can see that the wise die

leaving their wealth
Job 27:16-17  Though he heaps up silver like dust and clothes like piles of clay, what he lays up the righteous will wear, and the innocent will divide his silver.

to others
Ecclesiastes 2:18  I hated all the things I had toiled for under the sun, because I must leave them to the one who comes after me.
Ecclesiastes 2:21  For a person may labor with wisdom, knowledge and skill, and then they must leave all they own to another who has not toiled for it. This too is meaningless and a great misfortune.

Their tombs will remain their houses forever

for endless generations

though they had named lands after themselves
Deuteronomy 3:14  (Jair, a descendant of Manasseh, took the whole region of Argob as far as the border of the Geshurites and the Maakathites; it was named after him, so that to this day Bashan is called Havath Jair.)

Psalm 49:7-9

No one can redeem the life of another or give to God a ransom for them--the ransom for a life is costly, no payment is ever enough--so that they should live on forever and not see decay.

the ransom for a life is costly
Numbers 35:31  " 'Do not accept a ransom for the life of a murderer, who deserves to die. They are to be put to death.' "

Matthew 20:28  "... just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."
Hebrews 9:15  For this reason Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance--now that he has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant.

so that they should live on forever and not see decay
Psalm 22:29  All the rich of the earth will feast and worship; all who go down to the dust will kneel before him--those who cannot keep themselves alive.

Psalm 27:1  The LORD is my light and my salvation--whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life--of whom shall I be afraid?

those who trust in their wealth
