I will turn my ear to a proverb; with the harp I will expound my riddle: ...
I will turn my ear to a proverb
Psalm 78:2-3 I will open my mouth with a parable; I will utter hidden things, things from of old--things we have heard and known, things our ancestors have told us.
Proverbs 1:5-6 ... let the wise listen and add to their learning, and let the discerning get guidance--for understanding proverbs and parables, the sayings and riddles of the wise.
Ezekiel 12:22 "Son of man, what is this proverb you have in the land of Israel: 'The days go by and every vision comes to nothing'?"
Ezekiel 16:44 " 'Everyone who quotes proverbs will quote this proverb about you (Jerusalem): "Like mother, like daughter."
Ezekiel 18:2-3 "What do you people mean by quoting this proverb about the land of Israel: 'The parents eat sour grapes, and the children's teeth are set on edge;? As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign LORD, you will no longer quote this proverb in Israel."
Luke 4:23 Jesus said to them, "Surely you will quote this proverb to me: 'Physician, heal yourself!' And you will tell me, 'Do here in your hometown what we have heard that you did in Capernaum.' "
with the harp
1 Samuel 16:16 "Let our lord command his servants here to search for someone who can play the lyre. He will play when the evil spirit from God comes on you, and you will feel better."
Psalm 33:2 Praise the LORD with the harp; make music to him on the ten-stringed lyre.
I will expound my riddle
Numbers 12:6-8 ... he said, "Listen to my words: When there is a prophet among you, I, the LORD, reveal myself to them in visions, I speak to them in dreams. But this is not true of my servant Moses; he is faithful in all my house. With him I speak face to face, clearly and not in riddles; he sees the form of the LORD. Why then were you not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?"
