Psalm 45:6-7

Your throne, O God, will last for ever and ever; a scepter of justice will be the scepter of your kingdom. You love righteousness and hate wickedness; therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy.

Your throne, O God, will last for ever and ever 
Genesis 21:33  Abraham planted a tamarisk tree in Beersheba, and there he called on the name of the LORD, the Eternal God.
Lamentations 5:19  You, LORD, reign forever; your throne endures from generation to generation.

You love righteousness 
Psalm 33:5  The LORD loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of his unfailing love.

and hate wickedness 
Psalm 11:5  The LORD examines the righteous, but the wicked, those who love violence, he hates with a passion.

therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you

Psalm 45:4-5

In your majesty ride forth victoriously in the cause of truth, humility and justice; let your right hand achieve awesome deeds. Let your sharp arrows pierce the hearts of the king's enemies; let the nations fall beneath your feet.

In your majesty ride forth victoriously 
Revelation 6:2  I looked, and there before me was a white horse! It's rider held a bow, and he was given a crown, and he rode out as a conqueror bent on conquest.

in the cause of truth, humility and justice 
Zephaniah 2:3  Seek the LORD, all you humble of the land, you who do what he commands. Seek righteousness, seek humility; perhaps you will be sheltered on the day of the LORD's anger.

let your right hand 
Psalm 21:8  Your hand will lay hold on all your enemies; your right hand will seize your foes.

achieve awesome deeds 
Deuteronomy 4:34  Has any god ever tried to take for himself one nation out of another nation, by testings, by signs and wonders, by war, by a mighty hand and an outstretched arm or by great and awesome deeds, like all the things the LORD your God did for you in Egypt before your very eyes?

Your lips have been anointed with grace

Gird your sword on your side

Psalm 44:23-24

Awake, Lord! Why do you sleep? Rouse yourself! Do not reject us forever. Why do you hide your face and forget our misery and oppression?

Why do you sleep? 
Psalm 78:65  Then the Lord awoke as from sleep, as a warrior wakes from the stupor of wine.

Rouse yourself! 
Psalm 59:5  You, LORD God Almighty, you who are the God of Israel, rouse yourself to punish all the nations; show no mercy to wicked traitors.

Do not reject us forever 
Psalm 74:1  O God, why have you rejected us forever? Why does your anger smolder against the sheep of your pasture?
Psalm 77:7  "Will the Lord reject forever? Will he never show his favor again?"

Why do you hide your face 
Deuteronomy 32:20  "I will hide my face from them," he said, "and see what their end will be; for they are a perverse generation, children who are unfaithful."

and forget 
Lamentations 5:20  Why do you always forget us? Why do you forsake us so long?

our misery and oppression 
Deuteronomy 26:7  Then we cried out to the LORD, the God of our ancestors, and the LORD heard our voice and saw our misery, toil and oppression.

Psalm 44:22

Yet for your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.

we are considered as sheep 
Psalm 44:11  You gave us up to be devoured like sheep and have scattered us among the nations.

to be slaughtered 
Isaiah 53:7  He was oppressed and afflicted, yet he did not open his mouth; he was led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is silent, so he did not open his mouth.
Jeremiah 11:19  I had been like a gentle lamb led to the slaughter; I did not realize that they had plotted against me, saying, "Let us destroy the tree and its fruit; let us cut him off from the land of the living, that his name be remembered no more."

Psalm 44:20-21

If we had forgotten the name of our God or spread out our hands to a foreign god, would not God have discovered it, since he knows the secrets of the heart?

If we had forgotten the name of our God 
Deuteronomy 32:18  You deserted the Rock, who fathered you; you forgot the God who gave you birth.
Judges 3:7  The Israelites did evil in the eyes of the LORD; they forgot the LORD their God and served the Baals and Asherahs.

or spread out our hands to a foreign god 
Exodus 20:3  "You shall have no other gods before me."
Isaiah 43:12  "I have revealed and saved and proclaimed--I, and not some foreign god among you. You are my witnesses," declared the LORD, "that I am God."

All this came upon us, though we had not forgotten you; we had not been false to your covenant. Our hearts had not turned back; our feet had not strayed from your path. But you crushed us and made us a haunt for jackals; you covered us over with deep darkness. 

Our hearts had not turned back 
Psalm 119:51  The arrogant mock me unmercifully, but I do not turn from your law.
Psalm 119:157  Many are the foes who persecute me, but I have not turned from your statutes.

but you crushed us 
2 Chronicles 14:12-13  The LORD struck down the Cushites before Asa and Judah. The Cushites fled, and Asa and his army pursued them as far as Gerar. Such a great number of Cushites fell that they could not recover; they were crushed before the LORD and his forces. The men of Judah carried off a large amount of plunder.
Psalm 51:8  Let me hear joy and gladness; let the bones you have crushed rejoice.

and made us a haunt for jackals 
Job 30:29  "I have become a brother of jackals, a companion of owls."
Isaiah 34:13  Thorns will overrun her citadels, nettles and brambles her strongholds. She will become a haunt for jackals, a home for owls.

you covered us over with deep darkness 
Job 3:5  "May gloom and utter darkness claim it (the day of Job's birth) once more; may a cloud settle over it; may blackness overwhelm it."

Psalm 44:15-16

I live in disgrace all day long, and my face is covered with shame at the taunts of those who reproach and revile me, because of the enemy, who is bent on revenge. 

I live in disgrace all day long 
Genesis 30:23  She became pregnant and gave birth to a son and said, "God has taken away my disgrace."
2 Chronicles 32:21  And the LORD sent an angel who annihilated all the fighting men and the commanders and officers in the camp of the Assyrian king. So he withdrew to his own land in disgrace. And when he went into the temple of his god, some of his sons, his own flesh and blood, cut him down with the sword.
Psalm 35:26  May all who gloat over my distress be put to shame and confusion; may all who exalt themselves over me be clothed with shame and disgrace.

and my face is covered with shame 
Psalm 34:4-5  I sought the LORD, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame.

at the taunts 
Psalm 42:10  My bones suffer mortal agony as my foes taunt me, saying to me all day long, "Where is your God?"

of those who reproach and revile me 
Psalm 10:13  Why does the wicked man revile God? Why does he say to himself, "He won't call me to account"?
Psalm 55:2b-3  My thoughts trouble me and I am distraught because of what my enemy is saying, because of the threats of the wicked; for they bring down suffering on me and assail me in their anger.
Psalm 74:10  How long will the enemy mock you, God? Will the foe revile your name forever?

because of the enemy, who is bent on revenge 
1 Samuel 18:25  ... Saul replied, "Say to David, 'The king wants no other price for the bride than a hundred Philistine foreskins, to take revenge on his enemies.' " Saul's plan was to have David fall by the hands of the Philistines.

You have made us a reproach to our neighbors, the scorn and derision of those around us. You have made us a byword among the nations; the peoples shake their heads at us.

the scorn 
Deuteronomy 28:37  You will become a thing of horror, a byword and an object of ridicule among all the peoples where the LORD will drive you.
Micah 2:6  "Do not prophesy," their prophets say. "Do not prophesy about these things; disgrace will not overtake us."

and derision of those around us 
Ezekiel 23:32  "This is what the Sovereign LORD says: You will drink your sister's cup, a cup large and deep; it will bring scorn and derision, for it holds so much."

You have made us a byword among the nations 
1 Kings 9:6-7  "But if you or your descendants turn away from me and do not observe the commands and decrees I have given you and go off to serve other gods and worship them, then I will cut off Israel from the land I have given them and will reject this temple I have consecrated for my Name. Israel will become a byword, and an object of ridicule among all peoples."
2 Kings 19:20-22  Then Isaiah son of Amoz sent a message to Hezekiah: "This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: I have heard your prayer concerning Sennacherib king of Assyria. You have made us a reproach to our neighbors, the scorn and derision of those around us. You have made us a byword among the nations; the peoples shake their heads at us.

You have made us a reproach 
2 Chronicles 29:8  "Therefore, the anger of the LORD has fallen on Judah and Jerusalem; he has made them an object of dread and horror and scorn, as you can see with your own eyes."
Isaiah 30:3  "But Pharaoh's protection will be to your shame, Egypt's shade will bring you disgrace."
Jeremiah 25:9  "... I will summon all the peoples of the north and my servant Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon," declares the LORD, "And I will bring them against this land and its inhabitants and against all the surrounding nations. I will completely destroy them and make them an object of horror and scorn, and an everlasting ruin."
Jeremiah 42:18  "This is what the LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, says: 'As my anger and wrath have been poured out on those who lived in Jerusalem, so will my wrath be poured out on you when you to to Egypt. You will be a curse and an object of horror, a curse and an object of reproach; you will never see this place again.' "

to our neighbors 
Psalm 79:4  We are objects of contempt to our neighbors, of scorn and derision to those around us.
Psalm 80:6  You have made us an object of derision to our neighbors, and our enemies mock us.
Psalm 89:41  All who pass by have plundered him; he has become the scorn of his neighbors.

Psalm 44:11-12

You gave us up to be devoured like sheep and have scattered us among the nations. You sold your people for a pittance, gaining nothing from their sale. 

You gave us up to be devoured like sheep

Leviticus 26:33  " 'I will scatter you among the nations and will draw out my sword and pursue you. Your land will be laid waste, and your cities will lie in ruins.' "
Psalm 9:11  Sing the praises of the LORD, enthroned in Zion; proclaim among the nations what he has done.

Deuteronomy 32:30  How could one man chase a thousand, or two put ten thousand to flight, unless their Rock had sold them, unless the LORD had given them up?
Isaiah 52:3  For this is what the LORD says: "You were sold for nothing, and without money you will be redeemed."
Jeremiah 15:13  "Your wealth and your treasures I will give as plunder, without charge, because of all your sins throughout your country."
Jeremiah 50:1-2  This the word the LORD spoke through Jeremiah the prophet concerning Babylon and the land of the Babylonians: "Announce and proclaim among the nations, lift up a banner and proclaim it; keep nothing back, but say, 'Babylon will be captured; Bel will be put to shame, Marduk filled with terror. Her images will be put to shame and her idols filled with terror.' "
Jeremiah 52:3  It was because of the LORD's anger that all this happened to Jerusalem and Judah, and in the end he thrust them from his presence. Now Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.

Psalm 44:9-10

But now you have rejected and humbled us; you no longer go out with our armies. You made us retreat before the enemy, and our adversaries have plundered us. 

But now you have rejected 
Psalm 43:2  You are God my stronghold. Why have you rejected me? Why must I go about mourning, oppressed by the enemy?

and humbled us 
Deuteronomy 8:3  He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your ancestors had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD.
Deuteronomy 31:17-18  "And in that day I will become angry with them and forsake them; I will hide my face from them, and they will be destroyed. Many disasters and calamities will come on them, and in that day they will ask, 'Have not these disasters come on us because our God is not with us?' And I will certainly hide my face in that day because of all their wickedness in turning to other gods."

Joshua 7:12  "That is why the Israelites cannot stand against their enemies; they turn their backs and run because they have been made liable to destruction. I will not be with you anymore unless you destroy whatever among you is devoted to destruction."
Psalm 108:11  Is it not you, God, who have rejected us and no longer go out with our armies?

You made us retreat before the enemy 
Leviticus 26:17  " 'I will set my face against you so that you will be defeated by your enemies; those who hate you will rule over you, and you will flee even when no one is pursuing you.' "

and our adversaries have plundered us 
Judges 2:14  In his anger against Israel the LORD gave them into the hands of raiders who plundered them. He sold them into the hands of their enemies all around, whom they were no longer able to resist.

Psalm 44:6-8

I put no trust in my bow, my sword does not give me victory; but you give us victory over our enemies, you put our adversaries to shame. In God we make our boast all day long, and we will praise your name forever.

Psalm 43:1-2

Vindicate me, my God, and plead my cause against an unfaithful nation. Rescue me from those who are deceitful and wicked. You are God my stronghold. Why have you rejected me? Why must I go about mourning, oppressed by the enemy? 

Vindicate me, my God, and plead my cause 
Judges 6:31 But Joash replied to the hostile crowd around him, "Are you going to plead Baal's cause? Are you trying to save him? Whoever fights for him shall be put to death by morning! If Baal really is a god, he can defend himself when someone breaks down his altar."

Rescue me 
Psalm 25:20  Guard my life and rescue me; do not let me be put to shame, for I take refuge in you.

from those who are deceitful and wicked 
Psalm 36:3  The words of their mouths are wicked and deceitful; they fail to act wisely or do good.
Psalm 109:1-2  My God, whom I praise, do not remain silent, for people who are wicked and deceitful have opened their mouths against me; they have spoken against me with lying tongues.

Why have you rejected me? 
Psalm 44:9  But now you have rejected and humbled us; you no longer go out with our armies.

Psalm 42:9

I say to God my Rock, "Why have you forgotten me? Why must I go about mourning, oppressed by the enemy?"

I say to God my Rock 
Psalm 18:31  For who is God besides the LORD? And who is the Rock except our God?

Why have you forgotten me? 
Psalm 10:11  He says to himself, "God will never notice; he covers his face and never sees."

Why must I go about mourning 
Psalm 35:14  I went about mourning as though for a friend or brother. I bowed my head in grief as though weeping for my mother.

oppressed 
Job 20:19  "For he (the godless person) has oppressed the poor and left them destitute; he has seized houses he did not build."
Psalm 43:2  You are God my stronghold. Why have you rejected me? Why must I go about mourning, oppressed by the enemy?
Psalm 106:42  Their enemies oppressed them and subjected them to their power.

by the enemy

Psalm 42:8

By day the LORD directs his love, at night his song is with me--a prayer to the God of my life.

My soul is downcast within me; therefore I will remember you from the land of the Jordan, the heights of Hermon--from Mount Mizar. Deep calls to deep in the roar of your waterfalls; all your waves and breakers have swept over me.

Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God. 

Why, my soul, are you downcast? 
Psalm 38:6  I am bowed down and brought very low; all day long I go about mourning.
Psalm 77:3  I remembered you, God, and I groaned; I meditated, and my spirit grew faint.
