GLORY 1 Peter 5:1

To the elders among you, I appeal as a fellow elder and a witness of Christ's sufferings who also will share in the glory to be revealed: ...

To the elders among you, I appeal as a fellow elder
Acts 11:29-30  The disciples, as each one was able, decided to provide help for the brothers and sisters living in Judea. This they did, sending their gift to the elders by Barnabas and Saul.

and a witness of Christ's sufferings
Luke 24:46-48  He (Jesus) told them, "This is what is written: The Messiah will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, and repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these things."

who also will share in the glory to be revealed
1 Peter 1:4b-7  This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God's power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith--of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire--may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.

GLORY 1 Peter 4:12-16

Dear friends, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that has come on you to test you, as though some thing strange were happening to you. But rejoice inasmuch as you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed. If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you. If you suffer, it should not be as a murderer or thief or any other kind of criminal, or even as a meddler. However, if you suffer as a Christian, do not be ashamed, but praise God that you bear that name.

Dear friend, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that has come on you to test you
1 Peter 1:6-7  In all this you greatly rejoice though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith--of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire--may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.

But rejoice
Matthew 5:12  "Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you."

inasmuch as you participate in the sufferings of Christ
2 Corinthians 1:5  For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ.

so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed
Romans 8:17  Now if we are children, then we are heirs--heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.
1 Peter 5:1  To the elders among you, I appeal as a fellow elder and a witness of Christ's sufferings who also will share in the glory to be revealed: ...

If you are insulted because of the name of Christ
John 15:21  "They will treat you this way because of my name, for they do not know the one who sent me."

you are blessed
Matthew 5:11  "Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me."

but praise God that you bear that name
Acts 5:41  The apostles left the Sanhedrin, rejoicing because they had been counted worthy of suffering disgrace for the Name.

GLORY 1 Peter 4:10-11

Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace and its various forms. If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.

Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others
Romans 12:6-7  We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.

as faithful stewards of God's grace and its various forms.
1 Corinthians 4:2  Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful.

If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God
1 Thessalonians 2:3-4  For the appeal we make does not spring from error or impure motives, nor are we trying to trick you. On the contrary, we speak as those approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel. We are not trying to please people but God, who tests our hearts.

If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides
Ephesians 6:10  Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.
Philippians 4:13  I can do all this through him who gives me strength.
John 15:5  "I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing."

so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ
1 Corinthians 10:31  So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.

To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.
Romans 11:33-36  Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments and his paths beyond tracing out! "Who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been his counselor?" (Isaiah 40:13) "Who has ever given to God that God should repay them?" (Job 41:11) For from him and through him and for him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen.

GLORY 1 Peter 1:23-25

For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God. For, "All people are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall , but the word of the Lord endures forever." (Isaiah 40:6-8) And this is the word that was preached to you.

For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable
1 Peter 1:3  Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, ...
John 1:12-13  Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God--children born not of natural descent, nor of a human decision or a husband's will, but born of God.
John 3:5  Jesus answered, "Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit."
Titus 3:5  ... he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, ...
James 1:18  He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all he created.

through the living and enduring word of God
Hebrews 4:12  For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

but the word of the Lord endures forever
Isaiah 40:6-8  A voice says, "Cry out." And I said, "What shall I cry?"  "All people are like grass, and all their faithfulness is like the flowers of the field. The grass withers and the flowers fall, because the breath of the LORD blows on them. Surely the people are grass. The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever."
James 1:10-11  But the rich should take pride in their humiliation--since they will pass away like a wild flower. For the sun rises with scorching heat and withers the plant; its blossom falls and its beauty is destroyed. In the same way, the rich will fade away even while they go about their business.

GLORY 1 Peter 1:7

These (trials) have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith--of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire--may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.

These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith
James 1:2-3  Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, when you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.

may result in praise, glory and honor
2 Corinthians 4:17  For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.

when Jesus Christ is revealed
1 Peter 1:13  Therefore, with minds that are alert and fully sober, set your hope on the grace to be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed at his coming.
1 Thessalonians 2:19  For what is our hope, our joy, or the crown in which we will glory in the presence of our Lord Jesus when he comes? Is it not you?
1 Peter 4:13  But rejoice inasmuch as you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed.

GLORY Hebrews 9:5

Above the ark were the cherubim of the Glory, overshadowing the atonement cover. But we cannot discuss these things in detail now.

Above the ark were the cherubim of the Glory
Exodus 25: 17-19  "Make an atonement cover of pure gold--two and a half cubits long and a cubit and a half wide. And make two cherubim out of hammered gold at the ends of the cover. Make one cherub on one end and the second cherub on the other; make the cherubim of one piece with the cover, at the two ends."

overshadowing the atonement cover
Exodus 25:20-22  "The cherubim are to have their wings spread upward, overshadowing the cover with them. The cherubim are to face each other, looking toward the cover. Place the cover on top of the ark and put in the ark the tablets of the covenant law that I will give you. There, above the cover between the two cherubim that are over the ark of the covenant law, I will meet with you and give you all my commands for the Israelites."
Exodus 26:34  "Put the atonement cover on the ark of the covenant law in the Most Holy Place."

GLORY Hebrews 5:5-6

In the same way, Christ did not take on himself the glory of becoming a high priest. But God said to him, "You are my Son; today I have become your Father." (Psalm 2:7) And he says in another place, "You are a priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek." (Psalm 110:4)

Christ did not take on himself the glory
John 8:54  Jesus replied, "If I glorify myself, my glory means nothing. My Father, whom you claim as your God, is the one who glorifies me."

of becoming a high priest
Hebrews 2:17  For this reason he had to be made like them, fully human in every way, in order that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, and that he might make atonement for the sins of the people.

But God said to him
Hebrews 1:1-2  In the past God spoke to our ancestors through prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe.

"You are my Son; today I have become your Father"
Psalm 2:7  I will proclaim the LORD's decree: He said to me, "You are my Son; today I have become your Father."
Matthew 3:17  And a voice from heaven said, "This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased."

"You are a priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek"
Hebrews 5:10  ... and was designated by God to be high priest in the order of Melchizedek.
Genesis 14:18  Then Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine. He was priest of God Most High, ...
Hebrews 6:20  ... where our forerunner, Jesus, has entered on our behalf. He has become a high priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek.
Psalm 110:4  The LORD has sworn and will not change his mind: "You are a priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek."

GLORY Hebrews 2:10

In bringing many sons and daughters to glory, it was fitting that God, for whom and through whom everything exists, should make the pioneer of their salvation perfect through what he suffered.

for whom and through whom everything exists
Romans 11:33-36  Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out! "Who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been his counselor?" (Isaiah 40:13) "Who has ever given to God, that God should repay them?" (Job 41:11) For from him and through him and for him are all things. To him be glory forever! Amen.

should make the pioneer of their salvation perfect through what he suffered
Luke 24:25-27  He said to them, "How foolish you are, and how slow to believe all that the prophets have spoken! Did not the Messiah have to suffer these things and then enter his glory?" And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself.
Hebrews 5:8-9  Son though he was, he learned obedience from what he suffered and once made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him ...
Hebrews 7:28  For the law appoints as high priests men in all their weakness; but the oath, which came after the law, appointed the Son who has been made perfect forever.

GLORY Hebrews 2:5-9 Part 2 of 2

It is not to angels that he has subjected the world to come, about which we are speaking. But there is a place where someone has testified: "What is mankind that you are mindful of them, a son of man that you care for him? You made them a little lower than the angels; you crowned them with glory and honor and put everything under their feet." (Psalm 8:4-6) In putting everything under them, God left nothing that is not subject to them. Yet at present we do not see everything subject to them. But we do see Jesus, who was made lower than the angels for a little while, now crowned with glory and honor because he suffered death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone.

But we do see Jesus, who was made lower than the angels for a little while, now crowned with glory and honor because he suffered death
Acts 3:13  "The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his servant Jesus. You handed him over to be killed, and you disowned him before Pilate, though he had decided to let him go."
Philippians 2:7-11  In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death--even death on a cross! Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone
2 Corinthians 5:15  And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.

Hebrews 4:4  For somewhere he has spoken about the seventh day in these words: "On the seventh day God rested from all his works." (Genesis 2:2)

What is mankind that you are mindful of them, a son of man that you care for him?
Job 7:17  "What is mankind that you make so much of them, that you give them so much attention, ..."
Psalm 144:3  LORD, what are human beings that you care for them, mere mortals that you think of them?

GLORY Hebrews 1:3

The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.

The Son is the radiance of God's glory
John 1:14  The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

the exact representation of his being
John 14:9  Jesus answered: "Don't you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, 'Show us the Father'?"

sustaining all things by his powerful word
Colossians 1:17  He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.

After he had provided purification for sins
Titus 2:14  ... who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.
Hebrews 7:27  Unlike the other high priests, he does not need to offer sacrifices day after day, first for his own sins, and then for the sins of the people. He sacrificed for their sins once for all when he offered himself.
Hebrews 9:11-14  But when Christ came as high priest of the good things that are now already here, he went through the greater and more perfect tabernacle that is not made with human hands, that is to say, is not a part of this creation. He did not enter by means of the blood of goats and calves; but he entered the Most Holy Place once for all by his own blood, thus obtaining eternal redemption. The blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer sprinkled on those who are ceremonially unclean sanctify them so that they are outwardly clean. How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God!

he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven
Mark 16:19  After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven and he sat at the right hand of God.
Acts 5:31  "God exalted him to his own right hand as Prince and Savior that he might bring Israel to repentance and forgive their sins."
Romans 8:34  Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died--more than that, who was raised to life--is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.
Colossians 3:1  Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.
Hebrews 12:2  ... fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

GLORY Titus 2:11-14 Part 4 of 4

For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say "No" to ungodliness and worldly passions and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope--the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.

1 Peter 3:13-14  Who is going to harm you if you are eager to do good? But even if you should suffer for doing what is right, you are blessed. "Do not fear their threats; do not be frightened." (Isaiah 8:12)

GLORY Titus 2:11-14 Part 1 of 4

For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say "No" to ungodliness and worldly passions and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope--the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.

For the grace of God
Romans 3:24  ... and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.

has appeared
2 Timothy 1:10  ... but it (God's grace) has now been revealed through the appearing of our Savior Christ Jesus, who has destroyed death and has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.

that offers salvation to all people
1 Timothy 2:7-9  This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.

It teaches us to say "No" to ungodliness and worldly passions
Titus 3:3  At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another.

to live self-controlled
Titus 2:2  Teach the older men to be temperate, worthy of respect, self-controlled, and sound in faith, in love and endurance.
Titus 2:4-5  Then they (the older women) can urge the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the work of God.
Titus 2:6  Similarly, encourage the young men to be self-controlled.
Titus 1:8  Rather, he must be hospitable, one who loves what is good, who is self-controlled, upright, holy and disciplined.

GLORY 2 Timothy 4:16-18 Part 2 of 2

At my first defense, no one came to my support, but everyone deserted me. May it not be held against them. But the Lord stood at my side and gave me strength, so that through me the message might be fully proclaimed and all the Gentiles might hear it. And I was delivered from the lion's mouth. The Lord will rescue me from every evil attack and will bring me safely to his heavenly kingdom. To him be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

And I was delivered from the lion's mouth
1 Samuel 17:37  "The LORD who rescued me (David) from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear will rescue me from the hand of the Philistine."
Psalm 22:21  Rescue me from the mouth of the lions; save me from the horns of the wild oxen.
Daniel 6:22  "My God has sent his angel, and he shut the mouth of the lions. They have not hurt me, because I was found innocent in his sight. Nor have I ever done any wrong before you, Your Majesty."
1 Corinthians 15:32  If I fought wild beasts in Ephesus with no more than human hopes, what have I gained? If the dead are not raised, "Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die." (Isaiah 22:13)

The Lord will rescue me from every evil attack
Psalm 121:7-8  The LORD will keep you from all harm--he will watch over your life; the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.
2 Peter 2:9  ... if this is so (the rescue of Lot and his family from Sodom), then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials and to hold the unrighteous for punishment on the day of judgment.

and will bring me safely to his heavenly kingdom
2 Timothy 4:1  In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, I give you this charge: ...

To him be glory for ever and ever. Amen

May it not be held against them

GLORY 2 Timothy 2:10

Therefore I endure everything for the sake of the elect, that they too may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus, with eternal glory.

Therefore I endure everything

for the sake of the elect
Titus 1:1  Paul, a servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ to further the faith of God's elect and their knowledge of the truth that leads to godliness--...

that they too may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus

GLORY 1 Timothy 3:16

Beyond all question, the mystery from which true godliness springs is great: He appeared in the flesh, was vindicated by the Spirit, was seen by angels, was preached among the nations, was believed on in the world, was taken up in glory.

Beyond all question, the mystery
Romans 16:25-27  Now to him who is able to establish you in accordance with my gospel, the message I proclaim about Jesus Christ, in keeping with the revelation of the mystery hidden for long ages past, but now revealed and made known through the prophetic writings by the command of the eternal God, so that all the Gentiles might come to the obedience that comes from faith--to the only wise God be glory forever through Jesus Christ! Amen.

from which true godliness springs
1 Timothy 2:1-2  I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people--for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.

He appeared in the flesh
John 1:14  The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

was vindicated by the Spirit
Matthew 12:28  "But if it is by the Spirit of God that I drive out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you."

was seen by angels
Acts 1:10-11  They were looking intently up into the sky as he was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them. "Men of Galilee," they said, "why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven."

was preached among the nations
Psalm 9:11  Sing the praises of the LORD, enthroned in Zion; proclaim among the nations what he has done.
Colossians 1:22-23  But now he has reconciled you by Christ's physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation--if you continue in your faith, established and firm, and do not move from the hope held out in the gospel. This is the gospel that you heard and that has been proclaimed to every creature under heaven, and of which I, Paul, have become a servant.

was believed on in the world, was taken up in glory
Mark 16:19  After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven and he sat at the right hand of God.
Luke 24:51  While he was blessing them, he left them and was taken up into heaven.

GLORY 1 Timothy 1:17

Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Now to the King
Revelation 15:2-4  And I saw what looked like a sea of glass glowing with fire and, standing beside the sea, those who had been victorious over the beast and its image and over the number of its name. They held harps given them by God and sang the song of God's servant Moses and of the Lamb: "Great and marvelous are your deeds, Lord God Almighty. Just and true are your ways, King of the nations. Who will not fear you, Lord, and bring glory to your name? For you alone are holy. All nations will come and worship before you, for your righteous acts have been revealed." (Psalm 111:2-3; Deuteronomy 32:4; Jeremiah 10:7; Psalm 86:9; 98:2)

eternal, immortal
1 Timothy 6:13-16  In the sight of God, who gives life to everything, and of Christ Jesus, who while testifying before Pontius Pilate made the good confession, I charge you to keep this command without spot or blame until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ, which God will bring about in his own time--God, the blessed and only Ruler, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone is immortal and who lives in unapproachable light, whom no one has seen or can see. To him be honor and might forever. Amen.

invisible
Colossians 1:15  The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.

the only God
Jude 24-25  To him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy--to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen.

be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen.
Romans 11:36  For from him and through him and for him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen.

GLORY 1 Timothy 1:9-11

We also know that the law is made not for the righteous but for lawbreakers and rebels, the ungodly and sinful, the unholy and irreligious, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers, for the sexually immoral, for those practicing homosexuality, for slave traders and liars and perjurers--and for whatever else is contrary to the sound doctrine that conforms to the gospel concerning the glory of the blessed God, which he entrusted to me.

We also know that the law is made not for the righteous
Galatians 5:22-23  But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

but for lawbreakers and rebels
Galatians 3:19  Why, then, was the law given at all? It was added because of transgressions until the Seed to whom the promise referred had come. The law was given through angels and entrusted to a mediator.

and for whatever else is contrary to the sound doctrine
1 Timothy 6:3-4a  If anyone teaches otherwise and does not agree to the sound instruction of our Lord Jesus Christ and to godly teaching, they are conceited and understand nothing.
2 Timothy 1:13  What you have heard from me, keep as the pattern of sound teaching, with faith and love in Christ Jesus.
2 Timothy 4:3  For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.
Titus 1:9  He must hold firmly to the trustworthy message as it has been taught, so that he can encourage others by sound doctrine and refute those who oppose it.
Titus 2:1  You, however, must teach what is appropriate to sound doctrine.

that conforms to the gospel concerning the glory of the blessed God, which he entrusted to me
Galatians 2:7  On the contrary, they recognized that I had been entrusted with the task of preaching the gospel to the uncircumcised, just as Peter had been to the circumcised.
1 Thessalonians 2:4  On the contrary, we speak as those approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel. We are not trying to please people but God, who tests our hearts.
Titus 1:3  ... and which now at his appointed season he has brought to light through the preaching entrusted to me by the command of God our Savior, ...

GLORY 2 Thessalonians 2:13-14

But we ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters loved by the Lord, because God chose you as firstfruits to be saved through the sanctifying work of the Spirit and through belief in the truth. He called you to this through our gospel, that you might share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Bur we ought always to thank God for you
Romans 1:8  First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith is being reported all over the world.

because God chose you as firstfruits
Ephesians 1:4  For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight.

to be saved
1 Thessalonians 5:9  For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.

through the sanctifying work of the Spirit
1 Peter 1:1-2  Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, To God's elect, exiles scattered throughout the provinces of Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia and Bithynia, who have been chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through the sanctifying work of the Spirit, to be obedient to Jesus Christ and sprinkled with his blood: Grace and peace be yours in abundance.

He called you to this
Romans 8:28  And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
Romans 11:28-29  As far as the gospel is concerned, they (Israel) are enemies for your sake; but as far as election is concerned, they are loved on account of the patriarchs, for God's gifts and his call are irrevocable.

through our gospel
1 Thessalonians 1:4-5  For we know, brothers and sisters loved by God, that he has chosen you, because our gospel came to you not simply with words but also with power, with the Holy Spirit and deep conviction. You know how we lived among you for your sake.

GLORY 2 Thessalonians 1:8-10 Part 2 of 2

He will punish those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. They will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might on the day he comes to be glorified in his holy people and to be marveled at among all those who have believed. This includes you, because you believed our testimony to you.

and from the glory of his might
Isaiah 2:10  Go into the rocks, hide in the ground from the fearful presence of the LORD and the splendor of his majesty!
Isaiah 2:19  People will flee to caves in the rocks and to holes in the ground from the fearful presence of the LORD and the splendor of his majesty, when he rises to shake the earth.
2 Thessalonians 2:8  And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will overthrow with the breath of his mouth and destroy by the splendor of his coming.

on the day
1 Corinthians 3:12-13  If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, their work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each person's work.

he comes to be glorified in his holy people and to be marveled at among all those who have believed.
John 17:10  "All I have is yours, and all you have is mine. And glory has come to me through them."

This includes you, because you believed our testimony to you
1 Corinthians 1:5-6  For in him you have been enriched in every way--with all kinds of speech and with all knowledge--God thus confirming our testimony about Christ among you.

He will punish
Isaiah 66:15  See, the LORD is coming with fire, and his chariots are like the whirlwind; he will bring down his anger with fury, and his rebuke with flames of fire.
Jeremiah 10:25  Pour out your wrath on the nations that do not acknowledge you, on the peoples who do not call on your name. For they have devoured Jacob; they have devoured him completely and destroyed his homeland. (Psalm 79:6-7)

those who do not know God
Galatians 4:8  Formerly, when you did not know God, you were slaves to those who by nature are not gods.

and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus
Romans 2:8  But for those who are self-seeking and who reject the truth and follow evil, there will be wrath and anger.

They will be punished with everlasting destruction
Philippians 3:19  Their destiny is destruction, their god is their stomach, and their glory is in their shame. Their mind is set on earthly things.
1 Thessalonians 5:3  While people are saying, "Peace and safety," destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.
2 Peter 3:7  By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly.

and shut out from the presence of the Lord
