to be holy and blameless in his sight
Ephesians 5:25-27  Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.

Ephesians 1:3

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ
2 Corinthians 1:3-4  Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.
1 Peter 1:3-9  Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God's power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith--of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire--may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls.

Galatians 6:17-18

From now on, let no one cause me trouble, for I bear on my body the marks of Jesus. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit, brothers and sisters. Amen.

2 Corinthians 1:5  For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ.
2 Corinthians 11:23-27  Are they servants of Christ? (I am out of my mind to talk like this.) I am more. I have worked much harder, been in prison more frequently, been flogged more severely, and been exposed to death again and again. Five times I received from the Jews the forty lashes minus one. Three times I was beaten with rods, once I was pelted with stones, three times I was shipwrecked, I spent a night and a day in the open sea, I have been constantly on the move. I have been in danger from rivers, in danger from bandits, in danger from my fellow Jews, in danger from Gentiles; in danger in the city, in danger in the country, in danger at sea; and in danger from false believers. I have labored and toiled and have often gone without sleep; I have known hunger and thirst and have often gone without food; I have been cold and naked.

Galatians 6:14-16

May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. Neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything; what counts is the new creation. Peace and mercy to all who follow this rule--to the Israel of God.

May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ
1 Corinthians 2:2  For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.

through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world
Romans 6:2  By no means! We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer?
Romans 6:6-7  For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin--because anyone who has died has been set free from sin.

neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything
1 Corinthians 7:19  Circumcision is nothing and uncircumcision is nothing. Keeping God's commands is what counts.

what counts is the new creation
2 Corinthians 5:17  Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation as come; the old is gone, the new is here!

Galatians 6:11-13

See what large letters I use as I write to you in my own hand! Those who want to impress people by means of the flesh are trying to compel you to be circumcised. The only reason they do this is to avoid being persecuted for the cross of Christ. Not even those who are circumcised keep the law, yet they want you to be circumcised that they may boast about your circumcision in the flesh.

See what large letters I use as I write to you in my own hand!
1 Corinthians 16:21  I, Paul, write this greeting in my own hand.

Those who want to impress people by means of the flesh are trying to compel you to be circumcised

Acts 15:1  Certain people came down from Judea to Antioch and were teaching the believers: "Unless you are circumcised, according to the custom taught by Moses, you cannot be saved."

The only reason they do this is to avoid being persecuted for the cross of Christ
Galatians 5:11  Brothers and sisters, if I am still preaching circumcision, why am I still being persecuted? In that case the offense of the cross has been abolished.

Not even those who are circumcised keep the law
Romans 2:25  Circumcision has value if you observe the law, but if you break the law, you have become as though you had not been circumcised.

yet they want you to be circumcised that they may boast about your circumcision in the flesh
Philippians 3:2-3  Watch out for those dogs, those evildoers, those mutilators of the flesh. For it is we who are the circumcision, we who serve God by his Spirit, who boast in Christ Jesus, and who put no confidence in the flesh--...

Galatians 6:9-10

2 Corinthians 4:1  Therefore, since through God's mercy we have this ministry, we do not lose heart.

for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up

Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people
Proverbs 3:27  Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act.
Titus 2:11-14  For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say "No" to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope--the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.

especially to those who belong to the family of believers
Ephesians 2:19  Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God's people and also members of his household, ...
1 Peter 4:17  For it is time for judgment to begin with God's household; and if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for those who do not obey the gospel of God?

Galatians 6:7-8 Part 2 of 2

Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.

Whoever sows to please their flesh
Galatians 5:24  Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

Romans 7:18  For I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out.
Romans 8:5-6  Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.

from the flesh will reap destruction
Job 4:8  "As I have observed, those who plow evil and those who sow trouble reap it."

Galatians 6:7-8 Part 1 of 2

Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.

Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked
1 Corinthians 6:9-11  Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

A man reaps what he sows
Proverbs 22:8  Whoever sows injustice reaps calamity, and the rod they wield in fury will be broken.
Jeremiah 34:17  "Therefore this is what the LORD says: You have not obeyed me; you have not proclaimed freedom to your own people. So I now proclaim 'freedom' for you, declares the LORD--'freedom' to fall by the sword, plague and famine. I will make you abhorrent to all the kingdoms of the earth."
Hosea 10:12-15  "Sow righteousness for yourselves, reap the fruit of unfailing love, and break up your unplowed ground; for it is time to seek the LORD, until he comes and showers his righteousness on you. But you have planted wickedness, you have reaped evil, you have eaten the fruit of deception. Because you have depended on your own strength and on your many warriors, the roar of battle will rise against your people, so that all your fortresses will be devastated--as Shalman devastated Beth Arbel on the day of battle, when mothers were dashed to the ground with their children. So it will happen to you, Bethel, because your wickedness is great. When the day dawns, the king of Israel will be completely destroyed.
2 Corinthians 9:6  Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.

Galatians 6:4-6

Each one should test their own actions. Then they can take pride in themselves alone, without comparing themselves to someone else, for each one should carry their own load. Nevertheless, the one who receives instruction in the word should share all good things with their instructor.

Each one should test their own actions
1 Corinthians 11:28  Everyone ought to examine themselves before they eat of the bread or drink from the cup.

Then they can take pride in themselves alone
2 Corinthians 13:5  Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you--unless, of course, you fail the test?

without comparing themselves to someone else
2 Corinthians 10:12  We do not dare to classify or compare ourselves with some who commend themselves. When they measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves with themselves, they are not wise.
2 Corinthians 10:18  For it is not the one who commends himself who is approved, but the one whom the Lord commends.

for each one should carry their own load
Galatians 6:2  Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.
Jeremiah 31:30  "Instead, everyone will die for their own sin; whoever eats sour grapes--their own teeth will be set on edge."

the one who receives instruction in the word should share all good things with their instructor
1 Corinthians 9:11  If we have sown spiritual seed among you, is it too much if we reap a material harvest from you?
1 Corinthians 9:14  In the same way, the Lord has commanded that those who preach the gospel should receive their living from the gospel.
1 Timothy 5:17-18  The elders who direct the affairs of the church well are worthy of double honor, especially those whose work is preaching and teaching.

Galatians 6:1-3

Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted. Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. If anyone thinks they are something when they are not, they deceive themselves.

if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit
1 Corinthians 2:15-16  The person with the Spirit makes judgments about all things, but such a person is subject to merely human judgments, for "Who has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?" [Isaiah 40:13] But we have the mind of Christ.
1 Corinthians 3:1  Brothers and sisters, I could not address you as people who live by the Spirit but as people who are still worldly--mere infants in Christ.

should restore that person gently
Matthew 18:15  "If your brother or sister sins, go and point out their fault, just between the two of you. If they listen to you, you have won them over."
2 Corinthians 2:7  Now instead, you ought to forgive and comfort him, so that he will not be overwhelmed by excessive sorrow.

Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ
1 Corinthians 9:21  To those not having the law I became like one not having the law (though I am not free from God's law but am under Christ's law), so as to win those not having the law.
James 2:8  If you really keep the royal law found in Scripture, "Love your neighbor as yourself," [Leviticus 19:18] you are doing right.

If anyone thinks they are something when they are not
Romans 12:3  For by the grace given me I say to everyone of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you.
1 Corinthians 8:2  Those who think they know something do not yet know as they ought to know.

they deceive themselves
1 Corinthians 3:18-20  Do not deceive yourselves. If any of you think you are wise by the standards of this age, you should become "fools" so that you may become wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God's sight. As it is written: "He catches the wise in their craftiness" [Job 5:13]; and again, "The Lord knows that the thoughts of the wise are futile." [Psalm 94:11]

Galatians 5:25-26

Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.

Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit
Galatians 5:16  So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.

Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other
Philippians 2:3  Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of others.
Romans 12:10  Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.
1 Corinthians 10:24  No one should seek their own good, but the good of others.
1 Peter 5:5  In the same way, you who are younger, submit yourselves to your elders. All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, "God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble." (Proverbs 3:34)

Galatians 5:24 Part 2 of 2

Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh
Romans 8:8-9  Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God. You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ.
Romans 8:12-13  Therefore, brothers and sisters, we have an obligation--but it is not to the flesh, to live according to it. For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live.
Romans 13:14  Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the flesh.
Galatians 6:8  Whoever sows to please their flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.
Colossians 2:11-12  In him you were also circumcised with a circumcision not performed by human hands. Your whole self ruled by the flesh was put off when you were circumcised by Christ, having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through your faith in the working of God, who raised him from the dead.

with its passions and desires
Galatians 5:16-17  So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want.

Galatians 5:24 Part 1 of 2

Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh
Galatians 5:13  You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.
Galatians 5:16-21  So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies and the like. I warn you as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.
Romans 6:6-7  For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin--because anyone who has died has been set free from sin.
Romans 7:5  For when we were in the realm of the flesh, the sinful passions aroused by the law were at work in us, so that we bore fruit for death.
Romans 7:18  For I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out.
Romans 8:3-5  For what the law was powerless to do because it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires.

Galatians 5:22-23 Part 2 of 2

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

peace
Malachi 2:6  "True instruction was in his (Levi's) mouth and nothing false was found on his lips. He walked with me in peace and uprightness, and turned many from sin."
John 14:27  "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."

gentleness and self-control
Acts 24:25  As Paul talked about righteousness, self-control and the judgment to come, Felix was afraid and said, "That's enough for now! You may leave. When I find it convenient, I will send for you."

Against such things there is no law
Galatians 5:18  But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

Galatians 5:22-23 Part 1 of 2

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

But the fruit of the Spirit
Matthew 7:15-20  "Watch out for false prophets. They will come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them."
Ephesians 5:9  ... (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth) ....

is love
Colossians 3:12-15  Therefore as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.

Galatians 5:19-21

The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.

The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality
1 Corinthians 6:18  Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body.

drunkenness, orgies and the like
Matthew 15:19  "For out of the heart come evil thoughts--murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander."
Romans 1:29-32  They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy. Although they know God's righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.
Romans 3:13  Let us behave decently, as in the daytime, not in carousing and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and debauchery, not in dissension and jealousy.

those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God
Matthew 25:34  "Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world.' "
Matthew 25:41  "Then he will say to those on his left, "Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.' "

Galatians 5:17-18

For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh
Romans 8:5-8  Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God's law, nor can it do so. Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God.

They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want
Romans 7:15  I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do.
Romans 7:21-23  So I find this law at work: Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God's law; but I see another law at work in me, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within me.

But if you are led by the Spirit
Galatians 5:16  So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.

you are not under the law
Romans 2:12  All who sin apart from the law will also perish apart from the law, and all who sin under the law will be judged by the law.
1 Timothy 1:9-11  We also know that the law is made not for the righteous but for lawbreakers and rebels, the ungodly and sinful, the unholy and irreligious, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers, for the sexually immoral, for those practicing homosexuality, for slave traders and liars and perjurers--and for whatever else is contrary to the sound doctrine that conforms to the gospel concerning the glory of the blessed God, which he entrusted to me.

Galatians 5:14-16 Part 2 of 2

For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: "Love your neighbor as yourself." If you bite and devour each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other. So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.

So I say, walk by the Spirit
Romans 8:5-6  Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.
Romans 8:9  You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ.
Romans 8:14  For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.
2 Corinthians 5:17  Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!

and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh
Galatians 5:24  Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

Galatians 5:14-16 Part 1 of 2

For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: "Love your neighbor as yourself." If you bite and devour each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other. So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.

"Love your neighbor as yourself."
Leviticus 19:18  " 'Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against anyone among your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the LORD.' "
Matthew 5:43-44  "You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, ..."
Galatians 6:2  Carry each others burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.

so I say, walk by the Spirit
Galatians 5:18  But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.
Galatians 5:25  Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.
Romans 8:1-2  Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.

Galatians 5:13

You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.

You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free
Galatians 5:1  It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.

But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh
Galatians 5:24  Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.
1 Corinthians 8:9  Be careful, however, that the exercise of your rights does not become a stumbling block to the weak.
1 Peter 2:16  Live as free people, but do not use your freedom as a cover-up for evil; live as God's slaves.

rather, serve one another humbly in love
1 Corinthians 9:19  Though I am free and belong to no one, I have made myself a slave to everyone, to win as many as possible.
2 Corinthians 4:5  For what we preach is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus' sake.
Ephesians 5:21  Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.

Galatians 5:11-12

Brothers and sisters, if I am still preaching circumcision, why am I still being persecuted? In that case the offense of the cross has been abolished. As for those agitators, I wish they would go the whole way and emasculate themselves!

if I am still preaching circumcision, why am I still being persecuted?
Galatians 4:29  At that time the son born according to the flesh persecuted the son born by the power of the Spirit. It is the same now.
Galatians 6:12  Those who want to impress people by means of their flesh are trying to compel you to be circumcised. The only reason they do this is to avoid being persecuted for the cross of Christ.

In that case the offense of the cross has been abolished
Luke 2:34-35  The Simeon blessed them and said to Mary, his mother: "This child is destined to cause the falling and rising of many in Israel, and to be a sign that will be spoken against, so that the thoughts of many hearts will be revealed. And a sword will pierce your own soul too."

As for those agitators
Galatians 5:10  I am confident in the Lord that you will take no other view. The one who is throwing you into confusion, whoever that may be, will have to pay the penalty.
