TRUST Isaiah 36:13-15
Then the commander stood and called out in Hebrew, "Hear the words of the great king, the king of Assyria! This is what the king says: Do not let Hezekiah deceive you. He cannot deliver you! Do not let Hezekiah persuade you to trust in the LORD when he says, 'The LORD will surely deliver us; this city will not be given into the hand of the king of Assyria.' "

2 Chronicles 32:18-19 Then they called out in Hebrew to the people of Jerusalem who were on the wall, to terrify them and make them afraid in order to capture the city. They spoke about the God of Jerusalem as they did about the gods of the other peoples of the world--the work of human hands.

They told him, "This is what Hezekiah says: This day is a day of distress and rebuke and disgrace, as when children come to the moment of birth and there is no strength to deliver them. It may be that the LORD your God will hear the words of the field commander, whom his master, the king of Assyria, has sent to ridicule the living God, and that he will rebuke him for the words the LORD your God has heard. Therefore pray for the remnant that still survives."

2 Chronicles 32:15 "Now do not let Hezekiah deceive you and mislead you like this. Do not believe him, for no god of any nation or kingdom has been able to deliver his people from my hand or the hand of my predecessors. How much less will your god deliver you from my hand!"
The LORD will surely deliver us

multitude of their chariots and in the great strength of their horsemen,

Deuteronomy 17:16 The king, moreover, must not acquire great numbers of horses for himself or make the people return to Egypt to get more of them, for the LORD has told you, "You are not to go back that way again."

This is what the Sovereign LORD, the Holy One of Israel, says: "In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength, but you would have none of it."

Hebrews 2:10-15 In bringing many sons and daughters to glory, it was fitting that God, for whom and through whom everything exists, should make the pioneer of their salvation perfect through what he suffered. He says, "I will declare your name to my brothers and sisters; in the assembly I will sing your praises." (Psalm 22:22) And again, "I will put my trust in him." One who is wise can go up against the city of the mighty and pull down the stronghold in which they trust.

Ecclesiastes 9:13-16 I also saw under the sun this example of wisdom that greatly impressed me: There was once a small city with only a few people in it. And a powerful king came against it, surrounded it and built huge siege works against it. Now there lived in that city a man poor but wise, and he saved the city by his wisdom. But nobody remembered that poor man. So I said, "Wisdom is better than strength." But the poor man's wisdom is despised, and his words are no longer heeded.
Proverbs 24:5-6 The wise prevail through great power, and those who have knowledge muster their strength. Surely you need guidance to wage war, and victory is won through many advisers.

TRUST Psalm 135:15-18
The idols of the nations are silver and gold, made by human hands. They have mouths, but cannot speak, eyes, but cannot see. They have ears, but cannot hear, nor is there breath in their mouths. Those who make them will be like them, and so will all who trust in them.

Those who trust in the LORD are like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but endures forever.

For the LORD is our judge, the LORD is our lawgiver, the LORD is our king; it is he who will save us.

TRUST Psalm 115:2-8 Part 2 of 2
Why do the
nations say, "Where is their God?" Our God is in heaven; he does
whatever pleases him. But their idols are silver and gold, made by human
hands. They have mouths, but cannot speak, eyes, but cannot see. They
have ears, but cannot hear, noses but cannot smell. They have hands, but
cannot feel, feet, but cannot walk, nor can they utter a sound with
their throats. Those who make them will be like them, and so will all
who trust in them.
But their idols are silver and gold
Revelation 9:20 The rest of mankind who were not killed by these plagues still did not repent of the work of their hands; they did not stop worshiping demons, and idols of gold, silver, bronze, stone and wood--idols that cannot see or hear or walk.

TRUST Psalm 115:2-8 Part 1 of 2
Why do the nations say, "Where is their God?" Our God is in heaven; he does whatever pleases him. But their idols are silver and gold, made by human hands. TRUST Psalm 91:1-2
Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty (Shaddai). I will say of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust."

TRUST Psalm 78:21-22
When the LORD heard them, he was furious; his fire broke out against Jacob, his wrath rose against Israel, for they did not believe in God or trust in his deliverance.

TRUST Psalm 78:5-7
He decreed statutes for Jacob and established the law in Israel, which he commanded our ancestors to teach their children, so the next generation would know them, even the children yet to be born, and they in turn would tell their children. Then they would put their trust in God and would not forget his deeds but would keep his commands.
He decreed statutes
Psalm 19:7-9 The law of the LORD is perfect, refreshing the soul. The statutes of the LORD are trustworthy, making wise the simple. The precepts of the LORD are right, giving joy to the heart. The commands of the LORD are radiant, giving light to the eyes. The fear of the LORD is pure, enduring forever. The decrees of the LORD are firm, and all of them are righteous.

Do not trust in extortion or put vain hope in stolen goods; though your riches increase, do not set your heart on them.
