Romans 9:6-9 Part 4 of 4

It is not as though God's word had failed. For not all who are descended from Israel are Israel. Nor because they are his descendants are they all Abraham's children. On the contrary, "It is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned." In other words, it is not the children by physical descent who are God's children, but it is the children of the promise who are regarded as Abraham's offspring. For this was how the promise was stated: "At the appointed time I will return, and Sarah will have a son."

but it is the children of the promise who are regarded as Abraham's offspring
Galatians 3:16  The promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. Scripture does not say "and to seeds," meaning many people, but "and to your seed," meaning one person, who is Christ.
Luke 1:54-55  " He has helped his servant Israel, remembering to be merciful to Abraham and his descendants forever, just as he promised our ancestors."
Romans 4:16  Therefore, the promise comes by faith, so that it may be by grace and may be guaranteed to all Abraham's offspring--not only to those who are of the law but also to those who have the faith of Abraham. He is the father of us all.
Galatians 3:29  If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

"At the appointed time I will return and Sarah will have a son."
Genesis 18:10  Then one of them said, "I will surely return to you about this time next year, and Sarah your wife will have a son." Now Sarah was listening at the entrance to the tent, which was behind him.
Genesis 18:14  "Is anything too hard for the LORD? I will return to you at the appointed time next year, and Sarah will have a son."

Romans 9:6-9 Part 3 of 4

It is not as though God's word had failed. For not all who are descended from Israel are Israel. Nor because they are his descendants are they all Abraham's children. On the contrary, "It is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned." In other words, it is not the children by physical descent who are God's children, but it is the children of the promise who are regarded as Abraham's offspring. For this was how the promise was stated: "At the appointed time I will return, and Sarah will have a son."

"It is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned."
Genesis 21:12  But God said to him, "Do not be so distressed about he boy and your slave woman. Listen to whatever Sarah tells you, because it is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned."
Hebrews 11:17-19  By faith Abraham, when God tested him, offered Isaac as a sacrifice. He who had embraced the promises was about to sacrifice his one and only son, even though God had said to him, "It is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned." Abraham reasoned that God could even raise the dead, and so in a manner of speaking he did receive Isaac back from death.

it is not the children by physical descent who are God's children
Romans 8:14  For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.
Romans 8:19  For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed.
John 1:12  Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God--...
Galatians 3:26  So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, ...

Romans 9:6-9 Part 2 of 4

It is not as though God's word had failed. For not all who are descended from Israel are Israel. Nor because they are his descendants are they all Abraham's children. On the contrary, "It is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned." In other words, it is not the children by physical descent who are God's children, but it is the children of the promise who are regarded as Abraham's offspring. For this was how the promise was stated: "At the appointed time I will return, and Sarah will have a son."

It is not as though God's word had failed
1 Thessalonians 2:13  And we also thank God continually because, when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as a human word, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is indeed at work in you who believe.
2 Timothy 2:8-9  Remember Jesus Christ, raised from the dead, descended from David. This is my gospel, for which I am suffering even to the point of being chained like a criminal. But God's word is not chained.
1 Peter 1:23  For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God.
1 John 2:14  I write to you, dear children, because you know the Father. I write to you fathers, because you know him who is from the beginning. I write to you young men, because you are strong, and the word of God lives in you, and you have overcome the evil one.
Revelation 1:1-2  The revelation from Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants what must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John, who testifies to everything he saw--that is, the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ.

For not all who are descended from Israel are Israel
Romans 2:28-29  A person is not a Jew who is one only outwardly, nor is circumcision merely outward and physical. No, a person is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is circumcision of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the written code. Such a person's praise is not from other people, but from God.
Galatians 6:15-16  Neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything, what counts is the new creation. Peace and mercy to all who follow this rule--to the Israel of God.

Romans 9:6-9 Part 1 of 4

It is not as though God's word had failed. For not all who are descended from Israel are Israel. Nor because they are his descendants are they all Abraham's children. On the contrary, "It is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned." In other words, it is not the children by physical descent who are God's children, but it is the children of the promise who are regarded as Abraham's offspring. For this was how the promise was stated: "At the appointed time I will return, and Sarah will have a son."

It is not as though God's word had failed
Hebrews 4:12  For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
Mark 4:14-20  "The farmer sows the word. Some people are like seed along the path, where the word is sown. As soon as they hear it, Satan comes and takes away the word that was sown in them. Others, like seed sown on rocky places, hear the word and at once receive it with joy. But since they have no root, they last only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away. Still others, like seed sown among thorns, hear the word; but the worries of this life, the deceitfulness of wealth and the desires for other things come in and choke the word, making it unfruitful. Others, like the seed sown on good soil, hear the word, accept it, and produce a crop--some thirty, some sixty, some a hundred times what was sown.
Luke 5:1  One day as Jesus was standing by the Lake of Gennesaret, the people were crowding around him and listening to the word of God.
Luke 11:28  He replied, "Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it."
Acts 12:24  But the word of God continued to spread and flourish.

Romans 9:4-5 Part 4 of 4

... the people of Israel. Theirs is the adoption to sonship; theirs the divine glory, the covenants, the receiving of the law, the temple worship and the promises. Theirs are the patriarchs, and from them is traced the human ancestry of the Messiah, who is God over all, forever praised! Amen.

and from them is traced the human ancestry of the Messiah
Matthew 1:1 ... 16  This is the genealogy of Jesus the Messiah the son of David, the son of Abraham: ... and Jacob the father of Joseph, the husband of Mary, and Mary was the mother of Jesus who is called the Messiah.
Romans 1:1-4  Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle and set apart for the gospel of God--the gospel he promised beforehand through his prophets in the Holy Scriptures regarding his Son, who as to his earthly life was a descendant of David, and who through the Spirit of holiness was appointed the Son of God in power by his resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ our Lord.

who is God over all
John 1:1  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Colossians 2:9-10  For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, and in Christ you have been brought to fullness. He is the head over every power and authority.

forever praised! Amen.
Romans 1:25  They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator--who is forever praised. Amen.
2 Corinthians 11:31  The God and Father of the Lord Jesus, who is to be praised forever, knows that I am not lying.

Romans 9:4-5 Part 3 of 4

... the people of Israel. Theirs is the adoption to sonship; theirs the divine glory, the covenants, the receiving of the law, the temple worship and the promises. Theirs are the patriarchs, and from them is traced the human ancestry of the Messiah, who is God over all, forever praised! Amen.

and the promises
Acts 13:32-33a  "We tell you the good news: What God promised our ancestors he has fulfilled for us, their children, by raising up Jesus."
Galatians 3:16  The promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. Scripture does not say "and to seeds," meaning many people, but "and to your seed," meaning one person, who is Christ.
Genesis 17:19  Then God said, "Yes, but your wife Sarah will bear you a son, and you will call him Isaac. I will establish my covenant with him as an everlasting covenant for his descendants after him."
Psalm 132:11  "If your (David's) sons keep my covenant and the statutes I teach them, then their sons will sit on your throne for ever and ever."
Micah 7:20  You (God) will be faithful to Jacob, and show love to Abraham, as you pledged on oath to our ancestors in days long ago.
Luke 1:54-55  "He has helped his servant Israel, remembering to be merciful to Abraham and his descendants forever, just as he promised our ancestors."
Romans 4:13  It was not through the law that Abraham and his offspring received the promise that he would be heir of the world, but through the righteousness that comes by faith.
Romans 4:16  Therefore the promise comes by faith, so that it may be by grace and may be guaranteed to all Abraham's offspring--not only to those who are of the law but also to those who have the faith of Abraham. He is the father of us all.
Galatians 3:29  If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Theirs are the patriarchs
Romans 11:28  As far as the gospel is concerned, they (Israel) are enemies for your sake; but as far as election is concerned, they are loved on account of the patriarchs, for God's gifts and his call are irrevocable.

Romans 9:4-5 Part 2 of 4

... the people of Israel. Theirs is the adoption to sonship; theirs the divine glory, the covenants, the receiving of the law, the temple worship and the promises. Theirs are the patriarchs, and from them is traced the human ancestry of the Messiah, who is God over all, forever praised! Amen.

the covenants
Genesis 17:1-2  When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to him and said, "I am God Almighty; walk before me faithfully and be blameless. Then I will make my covenant between me and you and will greatly increase your numbers."
Deuteronomy 4:12-13  Then the LORD spoke to you out of the fire. You heard the sound of words but saw no form; there was only a voice. He declared to you his covenant, the Ten Commandments, which he commanded you to follow and then wrote them on two stone tablets.
Acts 3:25  "And you are heirs of the prophets and of the covenant God made with your fathers. He said to Abraham, 'Through your offspring all peoples on earth will be blessed.' " [Genesis 22:18; 26:4]
Ephesians 2:11-13  Therefore, remember that formerly, you who are Gentiles by birth and called "uncircumcised" by those who call themselves "the circumcision" (which is done in the body by human hands)--remember that at that time you were separate from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners to the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ.

the receiving of the law
Psalm 147:19-20  He has revealed his word to Jacob, his laws and decrees to Israel. He has done this for no other nation; they do not know his laws. Praise the LORD.

the temple worship
Hebrews 9:1  Now the first covenant had regulations for worship and also an earthly sanctuary.

the people of Israel
Romans 9:6  It is not as though God's word had failed. For not all who are descended from Israel are Israel.

Theirs is the adoption to sonship
Exodus 4:22-23  "Then say to Pharaoh, 'This is what the LORD says: Israel is my firstborn son, and I told you, "Let my son go, so he may worship me." But you refused to let him go; so I will kill your firstborn son.' "
Exodus 6:7  " 'I will take you as my own people, and I will be your God. then  you will know that I am the LORD your God, who brought you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians.' "
Deuteronomy 7:6  For you are a people holy to the LORD your God. The LORD your God has chosen you out of all the peoples on the face of the earth to be his people, his treasured possession.

theirs the divine glory
Hebrews 9:5  Above the ark were the cherubim of the Glory, overshadowing the atonement cover. But we cannot discuss these things in detail now.
Exodus 25:17-20  "Make an atonement cover of pure gold--two and a half cubits long (about 45 inches) and a cubit and a half wide (about 27 inches). And make two cherubim out of hammered gold at the ends of the cover. Make one cherub on one end and the second on the other; make the cherubim of one piece with the cover, at the two ends. The cherubim are to have their wings spread upward, overshadowing the cover with them. The cherubim are to face each other, looking toward the cover."

Romans 9:1-3 Part 2 of 2

I speak the truth in Christ--I am not lying, my conscience confirms it through the Holy Spirit--I have great sorrow and unceasing anguish in my heart. For I could wish that I myself were cursed and cut off from Christ for the sake of my people, those of my own race, ...

those of my own race
Romans 11:13-15  I am talking to you Gentiles. Inasmuch as I am the apostle to the Gentiles, I take pride in my ministry in the hope that I may somehow arouse my own people to envy and save some of them. For if their rejection brought reconciliation to the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead?
Romans 10:19-21  Again I ask? Did Israel not understand? First Moses says, "I will make you envious by those who are not a nation; I will make you angry by a nation that has no understanding." (Deuteronomy 32:21) And Isaiah boldly says, "I was found by those who did not seek me; I revealed myself to those who did not ask for me." (Isaiah 65:1) But concerning Israel he says, "All day long I have held out my hands to a disobedient and obstinate people." (Isaiah 65:2)
1 Thessalonians 2:14-16  For you, brothers and sisters, became imitators of God's churches in Judea, which are in Christ Jesus: You suffered from your own people the same things those churches suffered from the Jews who killed the Lord Jesus and the prophets and also drove us out. They displease God and are hostile to everyone in their effort to keep us from speaking to the Gentiles so that they may be saved. In this way they always heap up their sins to the limit. The wrath of God has come upon them at last.
Acts 13:45  When the Jews saw the crowds, they were filled with jealousy. They began to contradict what Paul was saying and heaped abuse on him.
Acts 17:5  But other Jews were jealous; so they rounded up some bad characters from the marketplace, formed a mob and started a riot in the city. They rushed to Jason's house in search of Paul and Silas in order to bring them out to the crowd.

Romans 9:1-3 Part 1 of 2

I speak the truth in Christ--I am not lying, my conscience confirms it through the Holy Spirit--I have great sorrow and unceasing anguish in my heart. For I could wish that I myself were cursed and cut off from Christ for the sake of my people, those of my own race, ...

I speak the truth in Christ- I am not lying
Psalm 15:2  The one whose walk is blameless, who does what is righteous, who speaks the truth from their heart; ...
2 Corinthians 11:10  As surely as the truth of Christ is in me, nobody in the regions of Achaia will stop this boasting of mine.
Galatians 1:20  I assure  you before God that what I am writing you is no lie.
1 Timothy 2:7  And for this purpose I was appointed a herald and an apostle--I am telling the truth, I am not lying--and a true and faithful teacher of the Gentiles.

my conscience confirms it through the Holy Spirit
Romans 1:9  God, whom I serve in my spirit in preaching the gospel of his Son, is my witness how constantly I remember you ...

For I could wish that I myself were cursed and cut off from Christ
Exodus 32:32  "But now, please forgive their sin--but if not, then blot me out of the book you have written."

for the sake of my people
Acts 22:4-5  "I persecuted the followers of this Way to their death, arresting both men and women and throwing them into prison, as the high priest and all the Council can themselves testify. I even obtained letters from them to their associates in Damascus, and went there to bring these people as prisoners to Jerusalem to be punished."
Acts 13:26  "Fellow children of Abraham and you God-fearing Gentiles, it is to us that this message of salvation has been sent."
Acts 28:17  Three days later he called together the local Jewish leaders. When they had assembled, Paul said to them: "My brothers, although I have done nothing against our people or against the customs of our ancestors, I was arrested in Jerusalem and handed over to the Romans."
Acts 22:21  They replied, "We have not received any letters from Judea concerning you, and none of our people who have come from there has reported or said anything bad about you."

Romans 8:37-39 Part 3 of 3

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

that is in Christ Jesus our Lord
Romans 8:1  Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, ...
Romans 16:3  Greet Priscilla and Aquila, my co-workers in Christ Jesus.
Romans 16:7  Greet Andronicus and Junia, my fellow Jews who have been in prison with me. They are outstanding among the apostles, and they were in Christ before I was.
Romans 16:9-10  Greet Urbanus, our co-worker in Christ, and my dear friend Stachys. Greet Apelles, whose fidelity to Christ has stood the test. Greet those who belong to the household of Aristobulus.
1 Corinthians 1:30  It is because of him (God) that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God--that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption.
2 Corinthians 5:17  Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!
Galatians 1:22  I was personally unknown to the churches of Judea that are in Christ.
Galatians 5:6  For in Christ neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value. The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.
Ephesians 1:13-14  And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession--to the praise of his glory.

Ephesians 1:18-21  I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come.
Colossians 1:16  For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him.
1 Peter 3:21b-22  It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ, who has gone into heaven and is at God's right hand--with angels, authorities and powers in submission to him.

neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God
Romans 5:8  But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
John 3:16  For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
John 15:13  "Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends."
1 John 4:10  This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors
1 Corinthians 15:57  But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

through him who loved us
Romans 5:8  But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Galatians 2:20  I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
Ephesians 5:1-2  Follow God's example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
Revelation 1:4-6  John, To the seven churches in the province of Asia: Grace and peace to you from him who is, and who was, and who is to come, and from the seven spirits before his throne, and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who loved us and has freed us from our sins by his blood, and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve his God and Father--to him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen.
Revelation 3:9  " I will make those who are of the synagogue of Satan, who claim to be Jews though they are not, but are liars--I will make them come and fall down at your feet and acknowledge that I have loved you."

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future
1 Corinthians 3:21-23  So then, no more boasting about human leaders! All things are yours, whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas or the world or life or death or the present or the future--all are yours, and you are of Christ, and Christ is of God.

Romans 8:35-36

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written: "For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered."

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?
Romans 8:37-39  No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?
1 Corinthians 4:11  To this very hour we go hungry and thirsty, we are in rags, we are brutally treated, we are homeless. [see verses 8-13]
2 Corinthians 11:26-27  I have been constantly on the move. I have been in danger from rivers, in danger from bandits, in danger from my fellow Jews, in danger from Gentiles; in danger in the city, in danger in the country, in danger at sea, in danger from false believers. I have labored and toiled and have often gone without sleep; I have known hunger and thirst and have often gone without food; I have been cold and naked. [see verses 16-33]

"For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered."
Psalm 44:22  Yet for your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.
1 Corinthians 4:9  For it seems to me that God has put us apostles on display at the end of the procession, like those condemned to die in the arena. We have been made a spectacle to the whole universe, to angels as well as to human beings.
1 Corinthians 15:30-31  And as for us, why do we endanger ourselves every hour? I face death every day--yes, just as surely as I boast about you in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 8:33-34 Part 2 of 2

Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died--more than that, who was raised to life--is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.

is at the right hand of God
Mark 16:19  After the Lord had spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven and he sat at the right hand of God.
Acts 7:55  But Stephen, full of the Holy Spirit, looked up to heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God.
Ephesians 1:19b-21  That power is the same as the mighty strength he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come.
Hebrews 1:3  The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.

and is also interceding for us
Romans 8:27  And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God's people in accordance with the will of God.
Job 16:20-21  "My intercessor is my friend as my eyes pour out tears to God; on behalf of a man he pleads with God as one pleads for a friend."
Isaiah 53:12  Therefore I will give him a portion among the great, and he will divide the spoils with the strong, because he poured out his life unto death, and was numbered among the transgressors. For he bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.
Hebrews 7:25  Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.
Hebrews 9:24  For Christ did not enter a sanctuary made with human hands that was only a copy of the true one; he entered heaven itself, now to appear for us in God's presence.
1 John 2:1  My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father--Jesus Christ, the Righteous One.

Romans 8:33-34 Part 1 of 2

Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died--more than that, who was raised to life--is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.

Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen?
Isaiah 50:8-9  He who vindicates me is near. Who then will bring charges against me? Let us face each other! Who is my accuser? Let him confront me! It is the sovereign LORD who helps me. Who will condemn me? They will all wear out like a garment; the moths will eat them up.
Job 13:19  "Can anyone bring charges against me? If so, I will be silent and die."

Who then is the one who condemns?
Romans 8:1  Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

Christ who died
Romans 5:6-8  You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possible dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

more than that, who was raised to life
Acts 2:24  "But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him."
Acts 13:30  "But God raised him from the dead, and for many days he was seen by those who had traveled with him from Galilee to Jerusalem. They are now his witnesses to our people."
Acts 17:31  "For he has set a day when he will judge the world with justice by the man he has appointed. He has given proof of this to everyone by raising him from the dead."
Romans 10:9  If you declare with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
1 Peter 1:20-21  He (Jesus) was chosen before the creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake. Through him you believe in God, who raised him from the dead and glorified him, and so your faith and hope are in God.

Romans 8:31-32 Part 2 of 2

What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all--how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?

He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all
Genesis 22:12-13  "Do not lay a hand on the boy," he (the LORD) said. "Do not do anything to him. Now I know that you fear God, because you have not withheld from me your son, your only son." Abraham looked up and there in the thicket he saw a ram caught by its horns. He went over and took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering instead of his son.
Malachi 3:17  "On the day when I act," says the LORD Almighty, "they will be my treasured possession. I will spare them, just as a father has compassion and spares his son who serves him."
John 3:16  For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Romans 5:8  But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?
Matthew 6:11  "Give us today our daily bread."
Matthew 7:11  "If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!"
Isaiah 30:18  Yet the LORD longs to be gracious to you; therefore he will rise up to show you compassion. For the LORD is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for him!

Romans 8:31-32 Part 1 of 2

What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all--how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?

What, then, shall we say in response to these things?
Romans 4:1  What then shall we say that Abraham, our forefather according to the flesh, discovered in this matter?
Romans 6:1  What shall we say then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase?
Romans 7:7  What shall we say, then? Is the law sinful? Certainly not! Nevertheless I would not have known what sin was had it not been for the law. For I would not have known what coveting really was if the law had not said, "You shall not covet." (Exodus 20:7; Deuteronomy 5:21)
Romans 9:14  What then shall we say? Is God unjust? Not at all!
Romans 9:30  What then shall we say? that the Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, have obtained it, a righteousness that is by faith; ...

If God is for us
Exodus 3:12  And God said, "I will be with you. And this will be the sign to you that it is I who have sent you: When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you will worship God on this mountain."
Isaiah 41:10  "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."
Haggai 1:13  Then Haggai, the LORD's messenger, gave this message of the LORD to the people: "I am with you," declares the LORD.

who can be against us?
Psalm 56:9  Then my enemies will turn back when I call for help. By this I will know that God is for me.
Psalm 118:6  The LORD is with me; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?
Isaiah 8:10  Devise your strategy, but it will be thwarted; propose your plan, but it will not stand, for God is with us.
Jeremiah 20:11  But the LORD is with me like a mighty warrior; so my persecutors will stumble and not prevail. They will fail and be thoroughly disgraced; their dishonor will never be forgotten.
Hebrews 13:6  So we say with confidence, "The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?" (Psalm 118:6-7)

Romans 8:29-30 Part 2 of 2

For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. And those he predestined, he also called; and those he called, he also justified, and those he justified, he also glorified.

And those he predestined
Ephesians 1:11-12  In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will, in order that we, who were the first to put our hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory.

he also called
Romans 8:28  And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

those he called, he also justified
Romans 4:25  He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.
Romans 3:24  ... and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.
Romans 5:1  Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Romans 5:9  Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God's wrath through him!
1 Corinthians 6:11  And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

and those he justified, he also glorified
Romans 9:22-24  What if God, although choosing to show his wrath and make his power known, bore with great patience the objects of his wrath--prepared for destruction? What if he did this to make the riches of his glory known to the objects of his mercy, whom he had prepared in advance for glory--even us, whom he also called, not only from the Jews but also from the Gentiles?

Romans 8:26-27 Part 2 of 2

In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God's people in accordance with the will of God.

because the Spirit intercedes for God's people in accordance with the will of God

1 John 2:1-2  My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father--Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.
