LIGHT Romans 13:12

The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light.

The night is nearly over; the day is almost here
Hebrews 10:25 Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another--and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
1 John 2:8 Yet I am writing you a new command; its truth is seen in him and you, because the darkness is passing and the true light is already shining.

so let us put aside the deeds of darkness
Ephesians 5:11 Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.

and put on the armor of light
Ephesians 6:11-13 Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
1 Thessalonians 5:8 But since we belong to the day, let us be self-controlled, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet.

NOTES:
Nearness of the end times:
Matthew 24:33 "Even so, when you see all these things, you know that it is near, right at the door."
1 Corinthians 7:29-31 What I mean, brothers, is that the time is short. From now on those who have wives should live as if they had none; those who mourn, as if they did not; those who are happy, as if they were not; those who buy something, as if it were not theirs to keep; those who use the things of the world as if not engrossed in them. For this world in its present form is passing away.
James 5:8 You too, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord's coming is near.
1 Peter 4:7 The end of all things is near. Therefore be clear minded and self-controlled so that you can pray.
1 John 2:18 Dear children, this is the last hour; and as you have heard that the anticrhist is coming, even now many antichrists have come. This is how we know it is the last hour.

LIGHT John 12:44-46

Then Jesus cried out, "When a man believes in me, he does not believe in me only, but in the one who sent me. When he looks at me, he sees the one who sent me. I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness."

When he looks at me he sees the one who sent me
John 14:9 Jesus answered, "Don't you know me, Phillip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, 'Show us the Father'?"

I have come into the world as a light
John 1:4-5 In him was life, and that life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness but the darkness has not understood it.

LIGHT John 12:35-36

Then Jesus said, "You are going to have the light just a little while longer. Walk while you have the light, before darkness overtakes you. 1 John 2:11 But whoever hates his brother is in the darkness and walks around in the darkness; he does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded him.

Put your trust in the light while you have it, so that you may become sons of light
Luke 16:8 "The master commended the dishonest manager because he had acted shrewdly. For the people of this world are more shrewd in dealing with their own kind than are the people of the light."

Acts 26:17b-18 "I am sending you to them to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me."

When he had finished speaking, Jesus left and hid himself from them
John 8:59 At this they picked up stones to stone him, but Jesus hid himself, slipping away from the temple grounds.

As long as it is day
John 11:9-10 Jesus answered, "Are there not twelve hours of daylight? A man who walks by day will not stumble, for he sees by this world's light. It is when he walks by night that he stumbles, for he has no light."
John 12:35-36a Then Jesus told them, "You are going to have the light just a little while longer. Walk while you have the light, before darkness overtakes you. LIGHT John 3:19-21

"This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God."

LIGHT Luke 11:33-36

"No one lights a lamp and puts it in a place where it will be hidden, or under a bowl. Instead he puts it on its stand, so that those who come in may see the light. Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your eyes are good, your whole body is full of light. But when they are bad, your body also is full of darkness. See to it, then, that the light within you is not darkness. Therefore, if your whole body is full of light, and no part of it dark, it will be completely lighted, as when the light of a lamp shines on you."

Matthew 5:14-16 "You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. LIGHT Isaiah 53:11

After the suffering of his soul, he will see the light of life and be satisfied; by his knowledge my righteous servant will justify many, he will bear their iniquities.

After the suffering of his soul
John 10:14-18 "I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me--just as the Father knows me and I know the Father--and I lay down my life for the sheep. I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd. The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life--only to take it up again. No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from my Father."

he will see the light of life and be satisfied
Job 33:29-30 "God does all these things to a man--twice, even three times--to turn back his soul from the pit, that the light of life may shine on him."

Acts 7:52 "Was there ever a prophet your fathers did not persecute? They even killed those who predicted the coming of the Righteous One. And now you have betrayed and murdered him-- ..."

will justify many
Isaiah 6:7 With it he touched my mouth and said, "See, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away and your sin atoned for."
John 1:29 The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, "Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!"
Romans 4:25 He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.

and he will bear their iniquities
Exodus 28:38 "It will be on Aaron's forehead, and he will bear the guilt involved in the sacred gifts the Israelites consecrate, whatever their gifts may be. It will be on Aaron's forehead continually so that they will be acceptable to the LORD."
Isaiah 53:5 But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed.

LIGHT Isaiah 45:17

"I form the light and create darkness, I bring prosperity and create disaster; I, the LORD, do all these things."

I form the light and create darkness
Genesis 1:3-4 And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light. God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness.
Exodus 10:21-23 Then the LORD said to Moses, "Stretch out your hand toward the sky so that darkness will spread over Egypt--darkness that can be felt." So Moses stretched out his hand toward the sky, and total darkness covered all Egypt for three days. No one could see anyone else or leave his place for three days. Yet all the Israelites had light in the places where they lived.
Psalm 105:28 He sent darkness and made the land dark--for had they not rebelled against his words?

I bring prosperity and create disaster
Isaiah 31:2 Yet he too is wise and can bring disaster; he does not take back his words. He will rise up against the house of the wicked, against those who help evildoers.
Lamentations 3:38-40 Is it not from the mouth of the Most High that both calamities and good things come? Why should any living man complain when punished for his sins? Let us examine our ways and test them, and let us return to the LORD.
Isaiah 47:11 "Disaster will come upon you, and you will not know how to conjure it away. A calamity will fall upon you that you cannot ward off with a ransom; a catastrophe you cannot foresee will suddenly come upon you."
