John 15:5-8 Part 2 of 3

"I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. This is to my Father's glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples."

If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned
John 15:2  "He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful."
Ezekiel 15:2-5  "Son of man, how is the wood of the vine different from that of a branch from any of the trees in the forest? Is wood ever taken from it to make anything useful? Do they make pegs from it to hang things on? And after it is thrown on the fire as fuel and the fire burns both ends and chars the middle, is it then useful for anything? If it was not useful for anything when it was whole, how much less can it be made into something useful when the fire has burned it and it is charred?"
Matthew 3:10  "The ax is already at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire." (also Luke 3:9)
Matthew 7:19  "Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire."

If you remain in me and my words remain in you
John 15:4  "Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me."

ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you
Matthew 7:7-8  "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened."  (See Blog on 3/12-13/21, John 14:13-14)
