3 John 5-8 Part 1 of 2

Dear friend, you are faithful in what you are doing for the brothers and sisters, even though they are strangers to you. They have told the church about your love. Please send them on their way in a manner that honors God. It was for the sake of the Name that they went out, receiving no help from the pagans. We ought therefore to show hospitality to such people so that we may work together for the truth.

3 John 3  It gave me great joy when some believers came and testified about your faithfulness to the truth, telling how you continue to walk in it. (see verses 1-4)

Romans 12:13  Share with the Lord's people who are in need. Practice hospitality. (see all chapter 12)

Hebrews 13:2  Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without know it. (see verses 1-3)

1 Corinthians 16:1-2  Now about the collection for the Lord's people: Do what I told the Galatian churches to do. On the first day of every week, each one of you should set aside a sum of money in keeping with your income, saving it up, so that when I come no collections will have to be made.

Ephesians 4:1  As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. (see verses 1-6)

Philippians 1:27  Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. Then, whether I come and see you or only hear about you in my absence, I will know that you stand firm in the one Spirit, striving together as one for the faith of the gospel ... (see verses 27-30)

We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, ... 1 Thessalonians 2:11-12  For you know that we dealt with each of you as a father deals with his own children, encouraging, comforting and urging you to live lives worthy of God, who calls you into his kingdom and glory. (see verses 9-16)
