1 John 5:13-15 Part 1 of 2

I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life. This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us--whatever we ask--we know that we have what we asked of him.

I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God
1 John 3:23  And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us. (see verses 16-24)
John 6:29  Jesus answered, "The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent." (see verses 15-40)

so that you may know that you have eternal life.
1 John 5:11  And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. (see verses 1-12)
Matthew 19:29  "And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life." (see verses 16-30)
Matthew 25:34  "Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world.' " (see verses 31-46)

This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.
Ephesians 3:12  In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence. (see verses 7-13)
2 Corinthians 3:4-5  Such confidence we have through Christ before God. Not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything for ourselves, but our competence comes from God. (see verses 1-6)
Hebrews 4:16  Let us then approach God's throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. (see verses 14-16)
1 John 2:28  And now dear children, continue in him, so that when he appears we may be confident and unashamed before him at his coming. (see verses 15-29)
1 John 3:21-22  Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God and receive from him anything we ask, because we keep his commands and do what pleases him. (see verses 18-24)
