2 John 1-3

The elder, To the lady chosen by God and to her children, whom I love in the truth--and not I only, but also all who know the truth--because of the truth, which lives in us and will be with us forever: Grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and from Jesus Christ, the Father's Son, will be with us in truth and love.

 

The elder,

Acts 11:29-30  The disciples, as each one was able, decided to provide help for the brothers and sisters living in Judea. This they did, sending their gift to the elders by Barnabas and Saul. [see verses 19-30]

Acts 15:22  Then the apostles and elders, with the whole church, decided to choose some of their own men and send them to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas. They chose Judas (called Barsabbas) and Silas, men who were leaders among the believers. [see verses 1-35]

1 Peter 5:1  To the elders among you, I appeal as a fellow elder and witness of Christ's sufferings who also will share in the glory to be revealed: ... [see verses 1-11]

John 8:31-32  To the Jews who had believed in him, Jesus said, "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." [see verses 31-47]

1 Timothy 2:3-4  This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. [see verses 1-7]

 

because of the truth, which lives in us and will be with us forever. 

John 14:16-17  "And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever--the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you." [see verses 15-27]

 

Grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and from Jesus Christ, the Father's Son, will be with us in truth and love.
