3 John 11-12

Dear friend, do not imitate what is evil but what is good. Anyone who does what is good is from God. Anyone who does what is evil has not seen God. Demetrius is well spoken of by everyone--and even by the truth itself. We also speak well of him, and you know that our testimony is true.

Dear friend, do not imitate what is evil but what is good.
Psalm 34:12-14  Whoever of you loves life and desires to see many good days, keep your tongue from evil and your lips from telling lies. Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it. (see all Psalm 34)
Psalm 37:27-29  Turn from evil and do good; then you will dwell in the land forever. For the LORD loves the just and will not forsake his faithful ones. Wrongdoers will be completely destroyed; the offspring of the wicked will perish. The righteous will inherit the land and dwell in it forever.

Anyone who does what is good is from God.
1 John 2:29  If you know that he is righteous, you know that everyone who does what is right has been born of him. (see all chapter 2)

Anyone who does what is evil has not seen God.
1 John 3:6  No one who lives in him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has either seen him or known him.
1 John 3:9-10  No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God's seed remains in them; they cannot go on sinning, because they have been born of God. This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not God's child, nor is anyone who does not love their brother and sister. (see all chapter 3)

Demetrius is well spoken of by everyone--and even by the truth itself.
1 Timothy 3:7  He must also have a good reputation with outsiders, so that he will not fall into disgrace and into the devil's trap. (see verses 1-7)

We also speak well of him, and you know that our testimony is true.
John 19:35  The man who saw it has given testimony, and his testimony is true. He knows that he tells the truth, and he testifies so that you also may believe. (see verses 28-36)
John 21:24  This is the disciple who testifies to these things and who wrote them down. We know that his testimony is true. (see the whole gospel of John)

3 John 9-10

I wrote to the church, but Diotrephes, who loves to be first, will not welcome us. So when I come, I will call attention to what he is doing, spreading malicious nonsense about us. Not satisfied with that, he even refuses to welcome other believers. He also stops those who want to do so and puts them out of the church.

I wrote to the church, but Diotrephes, who loves to be first, will not welcome us. So when I come,
3 John 14  I hope to see you soon, and we will talk face to face. Peace to you. The friends here send their greetings. Greet the friends there by name.
2 John 12  I  have much to write to you, but I do not want to use paper and ink. Instead, I hope to visit you and talk with you face to face, so that our joy may be complete.

I will call attention to what he is doing, spreading malicious nonsense about us.
Mark 7:21-23  "For it is from within, out of a person's heart, that evil thoughts come--sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly. All these evils come from inside and defile a person." (see verses 1-23)
Ephesians 4:29-31  Do  not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. (see verses 17-32)
1 Peter 2:1  Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy and slander of every kind. (see verses 1-3)
1 Timothy 5:20  But those elders who are sinning you are to reprove before everyone, so that others may take warning. (see verses 17-20)

Not satisfied with that, he even refuses to welcome other believers.
3 John 5  Dear friend, you are faithful in what you are doing for the brothers and sisters, even though they are strangers to you. (see verses 5-8)

He also stops those who want to do so and puts them out of the church.
John 9:22  His parents said this because they were afraid of the Jewish leaders, who already had decided that anyone who acknowledged that Jesus was the Messiah would be put out of the synagogue.
John 9:34  To this they replied, "You were steeped in sin at birth; how dare you lecture us!" And they threw him out. (see all chapter 9)

3 John 5-8 Part 2 of 2

Dear friend, you are faithful in what you are doing for the brothers and sisters, even though they are strangers to you. They have told the church about your love. Please send them on their way in a manner that honors God. It was for the sake of the Name that they went out, receiving no help from the pagans. We ought therefore to show hospitality to such people so that we may work together for the truth.

It was for the sake of the Name that they went out,
John 15:21  "They will treat you this way because of my name, for they do not know the one who sent me." (see verses 18-25)
Isaiah 66:5  Hear the world of the LORD, you who tremble at his word: "Your own people who hate you, and exclude you because of my name, have said, 'Let the LORD be glorified, that we may see your joy!' Yet they will be put to shame." (see verses 1-6)
Matthew 5:10-11  "Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me." (see verses 1-12)
Matthew 10:22  "You will be hated by everyone because of me, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved." (see all chapter 10)
Luke 6:22  "Blessed are you when people hate you, when they exclude you and insult you and reject your name as evil, because of the Son of Man." (see verses 17-26)
Acts 5:41  The apostles left the Sanhedrin, rejoicing because they had been counted worthy of suffering disgrace for the Name. (see verses 12-42)
1 Peter 4:14  If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you. (see verses 12-19)
Revelation 2:3  "You have persevered and have endured hardships for my name, and have not grown weary." (see verses 1-7)

We ought therefore to show hospitality to such people so that we may work together for the truth.
Acts 20:4-5  "You yourselves know that these hands of mine have supplied my own needs and the needs of my companions. In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.' " (see verses 17-38)

Colossians 1:9-10  For this reason, since the day we heard about you we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, ... (see verses 3-14)
1 Thessalonians 2:11-12  For you know that we dealt with each of you as a father deals with his own children, encouraging, comforting and urging you to live lives worthy of God, who calls you into his kingdom and glory. (see verses 9-16)

2 John 12-13

I have much to write to you, but I do not want to use paper and ink. Instead, I hope to visit you and talk with you face to face, so that our joy may be complete. The children of your sister, who is chosen by God, send their greetings.

I have much to write to you, but I do not want to use paper and ink. Instead, I hope to visit you and talk with you face to face, so that our joy may be complete.
John 3:27-30  To this John replied, "A person can receive only what is given to them from heaven. You yourselves can testify that I said, 'I am not the Messiah but am sent ahead of him.' The bride belongs to the bridegroom. The friend who attends the bridegroom waits and listens for him, and is full of joy when he hears the bridegroom's voice. That joy is mine, and it is now complete. He must become greater, I must become less." (see verses 22-36)

2 John 9-11 Part 3 of 3

Anyone who runs ahead and does not continue in the teaching of Christ does not have God; whoever continues in the teaching has both the Father and the Son. If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not take them into your house or welcome them. Anyone who welcomes them shares in their wicked work.

If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not take them into your house or welcome them. (continued)
1 Corinthians 5:11  But I am now writing to you that you must not associate with anyone who claims to be a brother or sister but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or slanderer, a drunkard or swindler. Do not even eat with such people. (see verses 9-13)
2 Thessalonians 3:6  In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, we command you, brothers and sisters, to keep away from every believer who is idle and disruptive and does not live according to the teaching you received from us. (see verses 1-13)
2 Timothy 3:5  ... having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them. (see verses 1-9)
Titus 3:9-11  But avoid foolish controversies and genealogies and arguments and quarrels about the law, because these are unprofitable and useless. Warn a divisive person once, and then warn them a second time. After that, have nothing to do with them. You may be sure that such people are warped and sinful; they are self-condemned.

Anyone who welcomes them shares in their wicked work.
Ephesians 5:11  Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. (see verses 1-20)
1 Timothy 5:22  Do not be hasty in the laying on of hands, and do not share in the sins of others. Keep yourself pure. (see verses 21-24)

2 John 9-11 Part 2 of 3

Anyone who runs ahead and does not continue in the teaching of Christ does not have God; whoever continues in the teaching has both the Father and the Son. If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not take them into your house or welcome them. Anyone who welcomes them shares in their wicked work.

If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not take them into your house or welcome them.
Romans 16:17  I urge you, brothers and sisters, to watch out for those who cause divisions and put obstacles in your way that are contrary to the teaching you have learned. Keep away from them. (see verses 17-19)
Galatians 1:8-9  But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God's curse! As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let them be under God's curse! (see verses 6-10)
1 Timothy 1:3-4  As I urged you when I went into Macedonia, stay there at Ephesus so that you may command certain people not to teach false doctrines any longer or to devote themselves to myths and endless genealogies. Such things promote controversial speculations rather than advancing God's work--which is by faith. (see verses 3-7)
1 Timothy 6:3-5  If anyone teaches otherwise and does not agree to the sound instruction of our Lord Jesus Christ and to godly teaching, they are conceited and understand nothing. They have an unhealthy interest in controversies and quarrels about words that result in envy, strife, malicious talk, evil suspicions and constant friction between people of corrupt mind, who have been robbed of the truth and who think that godliness is a means of financial gain. (see verses 3-16)
Matthew 18:15-17  "If your brother or sister sins, go and point out their fault, just between the two of you. If they listen to you, you have won them over. But if they will not listen, take one or two others along, so that 'every matter may established by the testimony of two or three witnesses' (Deuteronomy 19:15). If they still refuse to listen, tell it to the church; and if they refuse to listen even to the church, treat them as you would a pagan or a tax collector." (see verses 15-20)

2 John 9-11 Part 1 of 3

Anyone who runs ahead and does not continue in the teaching of Christ does not have God; whoever continues in the teaching has both the Father and the Son. If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not take them into your house or welcome them. Anyone who welcomes them shares in their wicked work.

Anyone who runs ahead and does not continue in the teaching of Christ does not have God;
John 8:31-32  To the Jews who had believed in him, Jesus said, "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." (see verses 31-58)
John 15:6-7  "If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you." (see verses 1-17)
John 16:1-2  "All this I have told you so that you will not fall away. They will put you out of the synagogue; in fact, the time is coming when anyone who kills you will think they are offering a service to God." (see verses 15:18-16:15)

whoever continues in the teaching has both the Father and the Son.
1 John 2:23  No one who denies the Son has the Father; whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father also. (see verses 18-27)
John 8:19  Then they asked him, "Where is your father?"  "You do not know me or my Father," Jesus replied. "If you knew me, you would know my Father also." (see verses 12-20)
John 14:6-7  Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him." (see verses 1-14)
1 John 4:15  If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God. (see verses 7-16)
1 John 5:1  Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves the father loves his child as well. (see verses 1-5)

2 John 8

Watch out that you do not lose what we have worked for, but that you may be rewarded fully.

Proverbs 19:17  Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward them for what they have done.
Matthew 10:41-42  "Whoever welcomes a prophet as a prophet will receive a prophet's reward, and whoever welcomes a righteous person as a righteous person will receive a righteous person's reward. And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones who is my disciple, truly I tell you, that person will certainly not lose their reward." (see verses 32-42)
Mark 9:41  "Truly I tell you, anyone who gives you a cup of water in my name because you belong to the Messiah will certainly not lose their reward." (see verses 38-41)
Mark 10:29-30  "Truly I tell you," Jesus replied, "no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for me and the gospel will fail to receive a hundred times as much in this present age: homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children and fields--along with persecutions--and in the age to come eternal life." (see verses 17-31)
1 Corinthians 3:8  The one who plants and the one who waters have one purpose, and they will each be rewarded according to their own labor. (see verses 1-9)
Hebrews 10:35-36  So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. (see verses 32-39)
Hebrews 11:24-26  By faith Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be known as the son of Pharaoh's daughter. He chose to be mistreated along with the people of God rather than to enjoy the fleeting pleasures of sin. He regarded disgrace for the sake of Christ as of greater value than the treasures of Egypt, because he was looking ahead to his reward. (see verses 23-29)

2 John 7

I say this because many deceivers who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh, have gone out into the world. Any such person is the deceiver and the antichrist.

I say this because many deceivers who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh,
1 John 2:22  Who is the liar? It is whoever denies that Jesus is the Christ. Such a person is the antichrist--denying the Father and the Son. (see verses 20-23)
1 John 4:2-3  This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world. (see verses 1-6)
John 1:14  The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. (see verses 1-18)
John 14:6  Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." (see verses 1-14)
Acts 3:15  "You killed the author of life, but God raised him from the dead. We are witnesses of this." (see verses 12-26)
1 John 1:1-2  That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked at and our hands have touched--this we proclaim concerning the Word of life. The life appeared; we have seen it and testify to it, and we proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and has appeared to us. (see verses 1-4)
1 John 5:20  We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true. And we are in hm who is true by being in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life. (see verses 18-20)
Revelation 1:18  "I am the Living One; I was dead, and now look, I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades." (see verses 9-20)

have gone out into the world. Any such person is the deceiver and the antichrist.
1 John 4:1  Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. (see verses 1-6)
1 John 2:18  Dear children, this is the last hour; and as you have heard that the antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come. This is how we know it is the last hour. (see verses 18-23)

2 John 4-6

It has given me great joy to find some of your children walking in the truth, just as the Father commanded us. And now, dear lady, I am not writing you a new command but one we have had from the beginning. I ask that we love one another. And this is love: that we walk in obedience to his commands. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you walk in love.

It has given me great joy to find some of your children walking in the truth, just as the Father commanded us.
3 John 3-4  It gave me great joy when some believers came and testified about your faithfulness to the truth, telling how you continue to walk in it. I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth. (see verses 1-8)

And now, dear lady, I am not writing you a new command but one we have had from the beginning.
1 John 2:7  Dear friends, I am not writing you a new command but an old one, which you have had since the beginning. This old command is the message you have heard. (see verses 3-11)
1 John 2:24  As for you, see that what you have heard from the beginning remains in you. If it does, you also will remain in the Son and in the Father. (see verses 24-27)
1 John 3:11  For this is the message you heard from the beginning: We should love one another. (see verses 11-18)
1 John 3:23  And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us. (see verses 19-24)

And this is love: that we walk in obedience to his commands.
John 14:15  "If you love me, keep my commands." (see verses 15-24)
1 John 2:3-5  We know that we have come to know him if we keep his commands. Whoever says, "I know him," but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in that person. But if anyone obeys his word, love for God is truly made complete in them. (see verses 3-11)
1 John 3:21-22  Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God and receive from him anything we ask, because we keep his commands and do what pleases him. (see verses 19-24)

2 John 1-3

The elder, To the lady chosen by God and to her children, whom I love in the truth--and not I only, but also all who know the truth--because of the truth, which lives in us and will be with us forever: Grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and from Jesus Christ, the Father's Son, will be with us in truth and love.

The elder,
Acts 11:29-30  The disciples, as each one was able, decided to provide help for the brothers and sisters living in Judea. This they did, sending their gift to the elders by Barnabas and Saul. [see verses 19-30]
Acts 15:22  Then the apostles and elders, with the whole church, decided to choose some of their own men and send them to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas. They chose Judas (called Barsabbas) and Silas, men who were leaders among the believers. [see verses 1-35]
1 Peter 5:1  To the elders among you, I appeal as a fellow elder and witness of Christ's sufferings who also will share in the glory to be revealed: ... [see verses 1-11]

To the lady chosen by God and to her children, whom I love in the truth--and not I only, but also all who know the truth--
John 8:31-32  To the Jews who had believed in him, Jesus said, "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." [see verses 31-47]
1 Timothy 2:3-4  This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. [see verses 1-7]

because of the truth, which lives in us and will be with us forever.
John 14:16-17  "And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever--the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you." [see verses 15-27]

Grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and from Jesus Christ, the Father's Son, will be with us in truth and love.
Romans 1:7  To all in Rome who are loved by God and called to be his holy people: Grace and peace to you from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ. [see verses 1-17]
1 Timothy 1:2  To Timothy, my true son in the faith: Grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord. [see all chapter 1]

1 John 5:19-21

We  know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one. We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true. And we are in him who is true by being in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life. Dear children, keep yourselves from idols.

We know that we are children of God,
1 John 4:6  We are from God, and whoever knows God listens to us; but whoever is not from God does not listen to us. This is how we recognize the Spirit of truth and the spirit of falsehood. (see verses 1-6)

and that the whole world is under control of the evil one.
John 12:31  "Now is the time for judgment on this world; now the prince of this world will be driven out." (see verses 20-36)
John 17:15  "My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one." (see verses 13-19)

We know also that the Son of God has come
1 John 5:5  Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God. (see verses 1-12)

and has given us understanding,
Luke 24:45  Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures. (see verses 44-49)

so that we may know him who is true.
John 17:3  "Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent." (see verses 1-5)

And we are in him who is true by being in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.
1 John 5:11  And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. (see verses 1-12)
John 3:16  For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. (see verses 14-18)
John 3:36  Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God's wrath remains on them. (see verses 31-36)

Dear children, keep yourselves from idols.
1 Corinthians 10:14  Therefore, my dear friends, flee from idolatry. (see verses 1-22)
1 Thessalonians 1:8-9  The Lord's message rang out from you not only in Macedonia and Achaia--your faith in God has become known everywhere. Therefore we do not need to say anything about it, for they themselves report what kind of reception you gave us. They tell how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God, ... 1 John 5:16-18 Part 2 of 2

If you see any brother or sister commit a sin that does not lead to death, you should pray and God will give them life. I refer to those whose sin does not lead to death. There is a sin that leads to death. I am not saying that you should pray about that. All wrong doing is sin, and there is sin that does not lead to death. We know that anyone born of God does not continue to sin; the One who was born of God keeps them safe, and the evil one cannot harm them.

We know that anyone born of God does not continue to sin;
John 1:13  ... children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God. (see verses 1-14)
John 3:6  "Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit." (see verses 1-21)
James 1:18  He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all he created. (see verses 16-18)
1 Peter 1:23  For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God. (see verses 13-25)
1 John 3:9  No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God's seed remains in them; they cannot go on sinning, because they have been born of God. (see verses 1-10)
1 John 4:7  Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. (see verses 7-21)
1 John 5:1  Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves the father loves his child as well. (see verses 1-12)

the One who was born of God keeps them safe, and the evil one cannot harm them.
Matthew 6:13  "And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one." (see verses 5-15)
Matthew 13:19  "When anyone hears the message about the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in their heart. This is the seed sown along the path." (see verses 1-23)
John 17:15  "My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one." (see verses 6-19)
Ephesians 6:16  In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. (see verses 10-20)
2 Thessalonians 3:3  But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one. (see verses 1-5)

1 John 5:16-18 Part 1 of 2

If you see any brother or sister commit a sin that does not lead to death, you should pray and God will give them life. I refer to those whose sin does not lead to death. There is a sin that leads to death. I am not saying that you should pray about that. All wrong doing is sin, and there is sin that does not lead to death. We know that anyone born of God does not continue to sin; the One who was born of God keeps them safe, and the evil one cannot harm them.

If you see any brother or sister commit a sin that does not lead to death, you should pray and God will give them life.
James 5:15  And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven. (see verses 13-20)

I refer to those whose sin does not lead to death. There is a sin that leads to death.
Exodus 23:20-21  "See, I am sending an angel ahead of you to guard you along the way and to bring you to the place I have prepared. Pay attention to him and listen to what he says. Do not rebel against him; he will not forgive your rebellion, since my Name is in him." (see verses 20-33)
Hebrews 6:4-6  It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age and who have fallen away, to be brought back to repentance. To their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace. (see all chapter 6)
Hebrews 10:26  If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, ... (see verses 19-31)

I am not saying that you should pray about that,
Jeremiah 7:16  "So do not pray for this people nor offer any plea or petition for them; do not plead with me, for I will not listen to you." (see verses 1-29)
Jeremiah 14:11  Then the LORD said to me, "Do not pray for the well-being of these people." (see all chapter 14)

All wrongdoing is sin, and there is sin that does not lead to death.
1 John 3:4  Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact, sin is lawlessness.
1 John 2:1-2  My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father--Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world. (see verses 1:5-2:2)

1 John 5:13-15 Part 2 of 2

I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life. This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us--whatever we ask--we know that we have what we asked of him.

And if we know that he hears us--whatever we ask--we know that we have what we asked of him.
Matthew 7:7-8  "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened." (see verses 7-12)
Matthew 18:19  "Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them." (see verses 15-20)
Matthew 21:21-22  Jesus replied, "Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and it will be done. If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer." (see verses 18-22)
John 14:13-14  "And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it." (see verses 1-14)
John 16:23-24  "In that day you will no longer ask me for anything. Very truly I tell you, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete." (see verses 16-33)
James 1:5  If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. (see verses 2-8)
James 5:16  Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. (see verses 13-20)

1 John 5:13-15 Part 1 of 2

I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life. And if we know that he hears us--whatever we ask--we know that we have what we asked of him.

I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God

John 6:29  Jesus answered, "The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent." (see verses 15-40)

so that you may know that you have eternal life.
1 John 5:11  And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. (see verses 1-12)

Matthew 25:34  "Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world.' " (see verses 31-46)

This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.
Ephesians 3:12  In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence. (see verses 7-13)
2 Corinthians 3:4-5  Such confidence we have through Christ before God. Not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything for ourselves, but our competence comes from God. (see verses 1-6)
Hebrews 4:16  Let us then approach God's throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. (see verses 14-16)

And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life,
