1 John 4:9-10

This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.

This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world
John 1:18  No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known. (see verses 14-18)

that we might live through him.
John 3:16-17  For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. (see verses 14-21)
1 John 5:11-12  And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. (see verses 1-12)

This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us
Romans 5:8  But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners Christ died for us.
Romans 5:10  For if, while we were God's enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! (see verses 1-11)

and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.
Romans 3:25-26  God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood--to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished--he did it to demonstrate his righteousness at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justified those who have faith in Jesus. (see verses 21-31)
Psalm 65:3  When we were overwhelmed by our sins, you forgave our transgressions.
Hebrews 2:17  For this reason he had to be made like them, fully human in every way, in order that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, and that he might make atonement for the sins of the people. (see all chapter 2)
Hebrews 9:27-28  Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him. (see verses 11-28)
