1 John 4:17-18 Part 1 of 2

This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment: In this world we are like Jesus. There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.

 

This is how love is made complete among us

1 John 4:12  No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us. (see verses 7-19)

1 John 2:5-6  But if anyone obeys his word, love for God is truly made complete in them. This is how we know we are in him: Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did. (see verses 3-11)

so that we will have confidence 

Ephesians 3:12  In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence. (see verses 1-13)

2 Corinthians 3:4-5  Such confidence we have through Christ before God. Not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything for ourselves, but our competence comes from God. (see verses 1-6)

Hebrews 3:14  We have come to share in Christ, if indeed we hold our original conviction firmly to the very end. (see all chapter 3)

Hebrews 4:16  Let us then approach God's throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. (see verses 14-16)

Hebrews 10:19  Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, ...(see verses 19-23)

Hebrews 10:35  So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. (see verses 32-39)

1 John 2:28  And now, dear children, continue in him, so that when he appears we may be confident and unashamed before him at his coming. (see verses 18-29)

1 John 3:21-22  Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God and receive from him anything we ask, because we keep his commands and do what pleases him. (see verses 16-24)
