1 John 3:7-8

Dear children, do not let anyone lead you astray. The one who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous. The one who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning since the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil's work.

Dear children, do not let anyone lead you astray.
1 John 2:26  I am writing these things to you about those who are trying to lead you astray. (see all chapter 2)

The one who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous.
1 John 2:28-29  And now, dear children, continue in him, so that when he appears we may be confident and unashamed before him at his coming. If you know that he is righteous, you know that everyone who does what is right has been born of him.

The one who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning since the beginning.
1 John 3:10  This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not God's child, nor is anyone who does not love their brother and sister. (see verses 7-15)
John 8:44  "You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father's desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies." (see verses 31-47)

The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil's work.
Matthew 4:3-4  The tempter came to him and said, "If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread." Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.' (Deuteronomy 8:3)" (see verses 1-11)
1 Thessalonians 3:5  For this reason, when I could stand it no longer, I sent to find out about your faith. I was afraid that in some way the tempter had tempted you and that our labors might have been in vain. (see all chapter 3)
Hebrews 2:14-15  Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might break the power of him who holds the power of death--that is, the devil--and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death. (see all chapter 2)
