1 John 2:1-2 Part 3 of 3

My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father--Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.

and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.
Matthew 1:21  "She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus (the LORD saves), because he will save his people from their sins." (see verses 18-25)
Psalm 130:7-8  Israel, put your hope in the LORD, for with the LORD is unfailing love and with him is full redemption. He himself will redeem Israel from all their sins. (see all Psalm 130)
John 3:17  For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. (see verses 1-21)
Acts 5:30-32  "The God of our ancestors raised Jesus from the dead--whom you killed by hanging him on a cross. God exalted him to his own right hand as Prince and Savior that he might bring Israel to repentance and forgive their sins. We are the witnesses of these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him." (see verses 17-42)
Romans 11:13-14  I am talking to you Gentiles. Inasmuch as I am the apostle to the Gentiles, I take pride in my ministry in the hope that I may somehow arouse my own people to envy and save some of them. (see all chapter 11)
Titus 2:11-14  For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say "No" to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope--the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good. (see all chapter 2)
