But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin. If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light,
Isaiah 2:5 Come, descendants of Jacob, let us walk in the light of the LORD. (see verses 1-5)
Isaiah 60:1 "Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you." (see verses 1-3)
Isaiah 60:19-20 "The sun will no more be your light by day, nor will the brightness of the moon shine upon you, for the LORD will be your everlasting light, and your God will be your glory. Your sun will never set again, and your moon will wane no more; the LORD will be your everlasting light, and your days of sorrow will end." (see all chapter 60)
we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.
Hebrews 9:14 How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit, offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God! (see all chapter 9)
Revelation 1:5-6 ... and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood, and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve his God and Father--to him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen. (see verses 1-8)
If we claim to be without sin,
Proverbs 20:9 Who can say, "I have kept my heart pure; I am clean and without sin"?
Ecclesiastes 7:20 Indeed, there is no one on earth who is righteous, no one who does what is right and never sins.
Romans 3:10-11 As it is written: "There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands; there is no one who seeks God." (see verses 9-20)
we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.
John 8:44 "You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father's desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies." (see verses 31-47)
1 John 3:8 The one who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil's work. (see verses 4-10)
