Jesus gave them
this answer: "Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by himself;
he can only do what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the
Father does the Son also does. For the Father loves the Son and shows
him all he does. Yes, and he will show him even greater works than
these, so that you will be amazed. For just as the Father raises the
dead and gives them life, even so the Son gives life to whom he is
pleased to give it.
For just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life
Romans 4:17 As it is written: I have made you (Abraham) a father of many nations." (Genesis 17:5) He is our father in the sight of God, in whom he believed--the God who gives life to the dead and calls into being things that were not.
Romans 8:11 And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you.
2 Corinthians 1:9 Indeed, we felt we had received the sentence of death. But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead.
Hebrews 11:19 Abraham reasoned that God could even raise the dead, and so in a manner of speaking he did receive Isaac back from death.
even so the Son gives life to whom he is pleased to give it
John 11:25-26 Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?"
John 1:4 In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind.
John 3:14-15 "Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him."
