James 5:11

As you know, we consider blessed those who have persevered. You have heard of Job's perseverance and have seen what the Lord finally brought about. The Lord is full of compassion and mercy.

we consider blessed
Matthew 5:10 "Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven."

You have heard of Job's perseverance
Job 1:21:22 ... and said: "Naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked I will depart. The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away; may the name of the LORD be praised." In all this, Job did not sin by charging God with wrongdoing.
Job 2:10 He replied, "You are talking like a foolish woman. Shall we accept good from God, and not trouble?" In all this, Job did not sin in what he said.
Hebrews 10:36 You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.

and have seen what the Lord finally brought about
Job 42:10 After Job had prayed for his friends, the LORD made him prosperous again and gave him twice as much as he had before. (see verses 12-17)

The LORD is full of compassion and mercy
Exodus 34:6 And he passed in front of Moses, proclaiming, "The LORD, the LORD, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, ..."
Numbers 14:18 "'The LORD is slow to anger, abounding in love and forgiving sin and rebellion. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation.'"
Psalm 103:8 The LORD is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love.

NOTES:
Job was not patient: Job 3; 12:1-3; 16:1-3; 21:4
but he persevered: Job 1:20-22; 2:9-10; 13:15
