Mark 13:9-11 Part 1 of 2

"You must be on your guard. You will be handed over to the local councils and flogged in the synagogues. On account of me you will stand before governors and kings as witnesses to them. And the gospel must first be preached to all nations. Whenever you are arrested and brought to trial, do not worry beforehand about what to say. Just say whatever is given you at the time, for it is not you speaking, but the Holy Spirit."

Matthew 24:9  

    "Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me."

Matthew 10:17-18  

"Be on your guard; you will be handed over to the local councils and be flogged in the synagogues. On my account you will be brought before governors and kings as witnesses to them and to the Gentiles."

Luke 21:12  

    "But before all this, they will seize you and persecute you. They will hand you over to synagogues and put you in prison, and you will be brought before kings and governors, and all on account of my name."

Acts 5:17-18  

    Then the high priest and all his associates, who were members of the party of the Sadducees, were filled with jealousy. (see verses 12-16) They arrested the apostles and put them in the public jail.  (see Acts 5:17-42, also Acts 6-7)

Acts 12:1-3  

    It was about this time that King Herod arrested some who belonged to the church, intending to persecute them. He had James, the brother of John, put to death with the sword. When he saw that this met with approval among the Jews, he proceeded to seize Peter also. This happened during the Festival of Unleavened Bread.  (see Acts 12:1-19)

Acts 25:24-26  

Festus said: "King Agrippa, and all who are present with us, you see this man! The whole Jewish community has petitioned me about him in Jerusalem and here in Caesarea, shouting that he ought not to live any longer. I found he had done nothing deserving death, but because he made his appeal to the Emperor I decided to send him to Rome. But I have nothing definite to write to His Majesty about him. Therefore I have brought him before all of you, and especially before you, King Agrippa, so that as a result of this investigation I may have something to write."  (see Acts 21:27 - 26:32)
