Mark 12: 24-27 Part 2 of 2

    Jesus replied, "Are you not in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God? When the dead rise, they will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven. Now about the dead rising--have you not read in the Book of Moses, in the account of the burning bush, how God said to him, 'I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.'? He is not the God of the dead, but of the living. You are badly mistaken!" 

    

"Now about the dead rising--have you not read in the Book of Moses, in the account of the burning bush, how God said to him, 'I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob'?"

Exodus 3:5-6

    "Do not come any closer," God said. "Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy ground." Then he said, "I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob." At this Moses hid his face, because he was afraid to look at God.  (see all Exodus 3)

Matthew 22:31-32a  

"But about the resurrection of the dead--have you not read what God said to you, 'I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob'?"

Luke 20:37  

"But in the account of the burning bush, even Moses showed that the dead rise, for he calls the Lord 'the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.' "

Acts 7:30-32  

"When he saw this, he was amazed at the sight. As he went over to get a closer look, he heard the Lord say: 'I am the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.' Moses trembled with fear and did not dare look."  (see all Acts 7)

 

"He is not the God of the dead, but of the living. You are badly mistaken!"  

Matthew 22:32b-33  

"He is not the God of the dead but of the living." 

    When the crowds heard this, they were astonished at his teaching.

Luke 20:38-39  

"He is not the God of the dead, but of the living, for to him all are alive."

    Some of the teachers of the law responded, "Well said, teacher!"
