Mark 13:20-25 Part 1 of 2

     "If the Lord had not cut short those days, no one would survive. But for the sake of the elect, whom he has chosen, he has shortened them. At that time if anyone says to you, 'Look, here is the Messiah!' or, 'Look, there he is!' do not believe it. For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. So be on your guard; I have told you everything ahead of time.

    "But in those days, following that distress,

    'the sun will be darkened,

    and the moon will not give its light;

the stars will fall from the sky,

    and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.' "

    "If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened."

    "Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves."

Jeremiah 23:16  

    This is what the LORD Almighty says:

    "Do not listen to what the prophets are prophesying to you;

        they fill you with false hopes.

    They speak visions from their own minds,

        not from the mouth of the LORD."  (see Jeremiah 23:9-40)

Matthew 24:24  

"For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect."

2 Peter 2:1  

    But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false prophets among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them--bringing swift destruction on themselves.  (see all 2 Peter 2)

2 Thessalonians 2:9-10  

The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with how Satan works. He will use all sorts of displays of power through signs and wonders that serve the lie, and all the ways that wickedness deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and be saved.
