1 Timothy 3:1-2

Here is a trustworthy saying: Whoever aspires to be an overseer desires a noble task. Now the overseer is to be above reproach, faithful to his wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, ... 

Here is a trustworthy saying 
1 Timothy 1:15  Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners--of whom I am the worst.

Whoever aspires to be an overseer desires a noble task 
Acts 20:28  "Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which he bought with his own blood."
Philippians 1:1-2  Paul and Timothy, servants of Christ Jesus, To all God's holy people in Christ Jesus at Philippi, together with the overseers and deacons: Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Now the overseer is to be above reproach 
Titus 1:6-8  An elder must be blameless, faithful to his wife, a man whose children believe and are not open to the charge of being wild and disobedient. Since an overseer manages God's household, he must be blameless--not overbearing, not quick-tempered, not given to drunkenness, not violent, not pursuing dishonest gain. Rather he must be hospitable, one who loves what is good, who is self-controlled, upright, holy and disciplined.

faithful to his wife 
1 Timothy 3:12  A deacon must be faithful to his wife and must manage his children and his household well. 

temperate 
1 Timothy 3:11  In the same way the women are to be worthy of respect, not malicious talkers but temperate and trustworthy in everything.
Titus 2:2  Teach the older men to be temperate, worthy of respect, self-controlled, and sound in faith, in love and in endurance. 

self-controlled, respectable, hospitable 
Romans 12:13  Share with the Lord's people who are in need. Practice hospitality.

able to teach 
2 Timothy 2:24  And the Lord's servant must not be quarrelsome but must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful.
