Then they would put their trust in God and would not forget his deeds but would keep his commands. They would not be like their ancestors--a stubborn and rebellious generation, whose hearts were not loyal to God, whose spirits were not faithful to him.

2 Chronicles 30:7-8 "Do not be like your parents and your fellow Israelites, who were unfaithful to the LORD, the God of their ancestors, so that he made them an object of horror, as you see. Do not be stiff-necked, as your ancestors were; submit to the LORD. Come to his sanctuary, which he has consecrated forever. Serve the LORD your God, so that his fierce anger will turn away from you."
a stubborn
Exodus 32:9 "I have seen these people," the LORD said to Moses, "and they are a stiff-necked people."
and rebellious generation
Exodus 23:20-21 "See, I am sending an angel ahead of you to guard you along the way and to bring you to the place I have prepared. Pay attention to him and listen to what he says. Do not rebel against him; he will not forgive your rebellion, since my Name is in him."
Deuteronomy 21:18-19 If someone has a stubborn and rebellious son who does not obey his father and mother and will not listen to them when they discipline him, his father and mother shall take hold of him and bring him to the elders at the gate of his town.
Isaiah 30:9 For these are rebellious people, deceitful children, children unwilling to listen to the LORD's instruction.
Isaiah 65:2-3 "All day long I have held out my hands to an obstinate people, who walk in ways not good, pursuing their own imaginations--a people who continually provoke me to my very face, offering sacrifices in gardens and burning incense on altars of brick; ..."
