"Whoever
speaks on their own does so to gain personal glory, but he who seeks the
glory of the one who sent him is a man of truth; there is nothing false
about him. Has not Moses given you the law? Yet not one of you keeps
the law. Why are you trying to kill me?" "You are demon-possessed," the crowd answered. "Who is trying to kill you?"
Why are you trying to kill me?
John 7:1 After this Jesus went around in Galilee. He did not want to go about in Judea because the Jewish leaders there were looking for a way to kill him.
Matthew 12:14 But the Pharisees went out and plotted how they might kill Jesus.
Mark 3:6 Then the Pharisees went out and began to plot with the Herodians how they might kill Jesus.
Luke 6:11 But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law were furious and began to discuss with one another what they might do to Jesus.
Matthew 27:1 Early in the morning, all the chief priests and the elders of the people made their plans how to have Jesus executed.
"You are demon-possessed," the crowd answered
Mark 3:22 And the teachers of the law who came down from Jerusalem said, "He is possessed by Beelzebul! By the prince of demons he is driving out demons."
Matthew 9:34 But the Pharisees said, "It is by the prince of demons that he drives out demons."
Matthew 12:24-28 But when the Pharisees heard this, they said, "It is only by Beelzebul, the prince of demons, that this fellow drives out demons." Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them, "Every kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and every city or household divided against itself will not stand. If Satan drives out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then can his kingdom stand? And if I drive out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your people drive them out? So then, they will be your judges. But if it is by the Spirit of God that I drive out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you. (See also Luke 11:14-20)
