Aware that his disciples were grumbling about this, Jesus said to them, "Does this offend you? Then what if you see the Son of Man ascend to where he was before! The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you--they are full of the Spirit and life."
Does this offend you?
Matthew 13:57 And they took offense at him. But Jesus said to them, "A Prophet is not without honor except in his own town and in his own home."
Then what if you see the Son of Man ascend to where he was before
Mark 16:19 After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven and he sat at the right hand of God.
John 3:13 "No one has ever gone into heaven except the one who came from heaven--the Son of Man."
John 17:5 "And now, Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began."
Luke 24:50-51 When he had led them out to the vicinity of Bethany, he lifted up his hands and blessed them. While he was blessing them, he left them and was taken up into heaven.
The Spirit gives life
2 Corinthians 3:6 He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant--not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.
