John 12:12-15

The next day the great crowd that had come for the festival heard that Jesus was on his way to Jerusalem. They took palm branches and went out to meet him, shouting, "Hosanna!"  "Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!"  "Blessed is the king of Israel!"  Jesus found a young donkey and sat on it, as it is written: "Do not be afraid, Daughter Zion; see, your king is coming, seated on a donkey's colt."

They took palm branches 
Leviticus 23:40  " 'On the first day you are to take branches from luxuriant trees--from palms, willows and other leafy trees--and rejoice before the LORD your God for seven days.' " (the Festival of Tabernacles)
Mark 11:8  Many people spread their cloaks on the road, while others spread branches they had cut in the fields. 
Revelation 7:9  After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands.

Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! 
Psalm 118:25-26  LORD, save us! LORD, grant us success! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the LORD. From the house of the LORD we bless you.

Blessed is the king of Israel! 
John 1:49  Then Nathanael declared, "Rabbi, you are the Son of God; you are the king of Israel."
Matthew 2:1-2  After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem and asked, "Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him."
Matthew 27:41-42  In the same way the chief priests, the teachers of the law and the leaders mocked him. "He saved others," they said, "but he can't save himself! He's the king of Israel! Let him come down now from the cross, and we will believe in him."

Do not be afraid, Daughter Zion; see, your king is coming, seated on a donkey's colt. 
Zechariah 9:9  Rejoice greatly, Daughter Zion! Shout, Daughter Jerusalem! See your king comes to you, righteous and victorious, lowly and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.
