The
man answered, "Now that is remarkable! You don't know where he comes
from, yet he opened my eyes. We know that God doesn't listen to sinners.
He listens to the godly person who does his will. Nobody has ever heard
of opening the eyes of a man born blind. If this man were not from God,
he could do nothing." To this they replied, "You were steeped in sin at
birth; how dare you lecture us!" And they threw him out.
We know that God doesn't listen to sinners.
He listens to the godly person who does his will
John 15:7 "If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you."
1 John 5:14-15 This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us--whatever we ask--we know that we have what we asked of him.
If this man were not from God, he could do nothing
John 9:16 Some of the Pharisees said, "This man is not from God, for he does not keep the Sabbath." But others asked, "How can a sinner perform such signs?" So they were divided.
John 3:2 He came to Jesus at night and said, "Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the signs you are doing if God were not with him."
You were steeped in sin at birth
John 9:2 His disciples asked him, "Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?"
And they threw him out
John 9:22 His parents said this because they were afraid of the Jewish leaders, who already had decided that anyone who acknowledged that Jesus was the Messiah would be put out of the synagogue.
John 9:35 Jesus heard that they had thrown him out, and when he found him, he said, "Do you believe in the Son of Man?"
Isaiah 66:5 Hear the word of the LORD, you who tremble at his word: "Your own people who hate you, and exclude you because of my name, have said, 'Let the LORD be glorified, that we may see your joy!' Yet they will be put to shame."
