John 10:17-18

"The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life--only to take it up again. No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from my Father."

I lay down my life
John 10:11  "I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep."
John 10:14-15  "I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me--just as the Father knows me and I know the Father--and I lay down my life for the sheep."

No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord
Matthew 26:53-54  "Do you think I cannot call on my Father, and he will at once put at my disposal more than twelve legions of angels? But how then would the Scriptures be fulfilled that say it must happen in this way?"
2 Kings 6:17  And Elisha prayed, "Open his eyes, LORD, so that he may see." Then the LORD opened the servant's eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.
Daniel 7:9-10  "As I looked, thrones were set in place, and the Ancient of Days took his seat. His clothing was as white as snow; the hair of his head was white like wool. His throne was flaming with fire, and its wheels were all ablaze. A river of fire was flowing, coming out from before him. Thousands upon thousands attended him; ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him. The court was seated, and the books were opened."
Matthew 4:11  Then the devil left him, and angels came and attended him.

This command I received from my Father
John 15:10  "If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commands and remain in his love."
Philippians 2:8  And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death--even death on a cross!
Hebrews 5:8-9  Son though he was, he learned obedience from what he suffered and, once made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him ...
