John 10:14-16 Part 1 of 2

"I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me--just as the Father knows me and I know the Father--and I lay down my life for the sheep. I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd."

I am the good shepherd 
John 10:11  "I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep."

I know my sheep and my sheep know me 
John 10:27  "My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me."
Exodus 38:12-14  Moses said to the LORD, "You have been telling me, 'Lead these people,' but you have not let me know whom you will send with me. You have said, 'I know you by name and you have found favor with me.' If you are pleased with me, teach me your ways so I may know you and continue to find favor with you. Remember that this nation is your people." The LORD replied, "My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest." 

just as the Father knows me and I know the Father 
Matthew 11:27  "All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him."

I lay down my life for the sheep 
John 10:17-18  "The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life--only to take it up again. No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from my Father."

I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen 
Isaiah 56:8  The Sovereign LORD declares--he who gathers the exiles of Israel: "I will gather still others to them besides those already gathered."
Acts 10:34-35  Then Peter began to speak: "I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism but accepts from every nation the one who fears him and does what is right."
