Mark 1:1-3 Part 2 of 2

The beginning of the good news about Jesus the Messiah, the Son of God, as it is written in Isaiah the prophet:
    "I will send my messenger ahead of you,
        who will prepare your way"--
    "a voice of one calling in the wilderness,
    'Prepare the way for the Lord,
        make straight paths for him.' "

as it is written in Isaiah the prophet: "I will send my messenger ahead of you, who will prepare your way"--
2 Chronicles 36:15  The LORD, the God of their ancestors, sent word to them through his messengers again and again because he had pity on his people and on his dwelling place.  (see verses 15-23)
Matthew 3:3  This is he who was spoken of through the prophet Isaiah:
    "A voice of one calling in the wilderness,
    'Prepare the way for the Lord,
        make straight paths for him.' "  (see verses 1-12)
Luke 7:26-28  "But what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more than a prophet. This is the one about whom it is written:
    " 'I will send my messenger ahead of you,
    who will prepare your way before you.'
I tell you, among those born of women there is no one who is greater than John; yet the one who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he."
(see verses 18-35, also Matthew 11:1-19, John 1:6-28)

"a voice of one calling in the wilderness, 'Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.' "
Isaiah 40:3
A voice of one calling:
"in the wilderness prepare
    the way for the LORD;
make straight in the desert
    a highway for our God."  (see verses 1-5)
Isaiah 43:18-19
"Forget the former things;
    do not dwell on the past.
See, I am doing a new thing!
    Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness
    and streams in the wasteland."  (see verses 18-21)
John 1:22-23  Finally they said, "Who are you? Give us an answer to take back to those who sent us. What do you say about yourself?"
    John replied in the words of Isaiah the prophet, "I am the voice of one calling in the wilderness, 'Make straight the way for the Lord.' "  (see verses 19-28)
