He
will punish those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our
Lord Jesus. They will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut
out from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might on
the day he comes to be glorified in his holy people and to be marveled
at among all those who have believed. This includes you, because you
believed our testimony to you.
on the day
1 Corinthians 3:12-13 If anyone builds on this foundation (Jesus Christ) using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, their work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each person's work.
1 Corinthians 1:8 He will also keep you firm to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
2 Timothy 1:12 That is why I am suffering as I am. Yet this is no cause for shame, because I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him until that day.
2 Timothy 4:8 Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day--and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.
he comes to be glorified in his holy people
John 17:9-10 "I pray for them. I am not praying for the world, but for those you have given me, for they are yours. All I have is yours, and all you have is mine. And glory has come to me through them."
This includes you, because you believed our testimony to you
1 Corinthians 1:4-6 I always thank my God for you because of his grace given you in Christ Jesus. For in him you have been enriched in every way--with all kinds of speech and with all knowledge--God thus confirming our testimony about Christ among you.
