1 Thessalonians 4:13-14 Part 3 of 3

Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.

 

For we believe that Jesus died and rose again

Romans 14:9  For this very reason, Christ died and returned to life so that he might be the Lord of both the dead and the living.

Revelation 1:18  "I am the Living One; I was dead, and now look, I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades."

Revelation 2:8  "To the angel of the church in Smyrna write: These are the words of him who is the First and the Last, who died and came to life again." 

1 Corinthians 15:3-5  For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised from the dead on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Cephas, and then to the Twelve.

2 Corinthians 5:15  And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again. 

 

and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him 

1 Corinthians 6:14  By his power God raised the Lord from the dead, and he will raise us also.

2 Corinthians 4:14  ... because we know that the one who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead will also raise us with Jesus and present us with you to himself.

Romans 6:3-5  Or don't you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his.
