1 Thessalonians 3:1-3 Part 2 of 2

So when we could stand it no longer, we thought it best to be left by ourselves in Athens. We sent Timothy, who is our brother and co-worker in God's service in spreading the gospel of Christ, to strengthen and encourage you in your faith, so that no one would be unsettled by these trials. For you know quite well that we are destined for them.

so that no one would be unsettled by these trials
Mark 4:17  "But since they have no root, they last only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away."
John 16:33  "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."
Romans 5:3-4  Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.
2 Corinthians 1:3-4  Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.
2 Corinthians 4:17  For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.
2 Timothy 3:12-13  In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, while evildoers and imposters will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.

For you know quite well that we are destined for them
Acts 9:16  "I will show him how much he must suffer for my name."
Acts 14:21-22  They preached the gospel in that city and won a large number of disciples. Then they returned to Lystra, Iconium and Antioch., strengthening the disciples and encouraging them to remain true to the faith. "We must go through many hardships to enter the kingdom of God," they said.
