On
the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were
together, with the doors locked for fear of the the Jewish leaders,
Jesus came and stood among them and said, "Peace be with you!" After he
said this, he showed them his hands and side. The disciples were
overjoyed when they saw the Lord.
After he said this, he showed them his hands and side
Luke 24:39-40 "Look at my hands and my feet. It is I myself! Touch me and see; a ghost does not have flesh and bones, as you see I have." When he had said this, he showed them his hands and feet.
John 19:34 Instead, one of the soldiers pierced Jesus' side with a spear, bringing a sudden flow of blood and water.
The disciples were overjoyed with they saw the Lord
John 16:19-22 Jesus saw that they wanted to ask him about this, so he said to them, "Are you asking one another what I meant when I said, 'In a little while you will see me no more, and then after a little while you will see me'? Very truly I tell you, you will weep and mourn while the world rejoices. You will grieve, but your grief will turn to joy. A woman giving birth to a child has pain because her time has come; but when her baby is born she forgets the anguish because of her joy that a child is born into the world. So with you: Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy."
Matthew 28:8 So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples.
