PEACE 2 Corinthians 13:11

Finally, brothers and sisters, rejoice! Strive for full restoration, encourage one another, be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you.

Finally, brothers and sisters
1 Thessalonians 4:1  As for other matters, brothers and sisters, we instructed you how to live in order to please God, as in fact you are living. Now we ask and urge you in the Lord Jesus to do this more and more.
2 Thessalonians 3:1  As for other matters, brothers and sisters, pray for us that the message of the Lord may spread rapidly and be honored, just as it was with you.

live in peace
Mark 9:50  "Salt is good, but if it loses its saltiness, how can you make it salty again? Have salt among yourselves, and be at peace with each other."

and the God of love
1 John 4:16-19  And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment: In this world we are like Jesus. There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. We love because he first loved us.

and peace
Romans 15:33  The God of peace be with you all. Amen.
Ephesians 6:23-24  Peace to the brothers and sisters, and love with faith from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Grace to all who love our Lord Jesus Christ with an undying love.

PEACE 1 Corinthians 14:33

For God is not a God of disorder but of peace--as in all the congregations of the Lord's people.

For God is not a God of disorder
1 Corinthians 14:39-40  Therefore, my brothers and sisters, be eager to prophesy, and do not forbid speaking in tongues. But everything should be done in a fitting and orderly way.

but of peace
Romans 15:33  The God of peace be with you all. Amen.

as in all the congregations
1 Corinthians 7:17  Nevertheless, each person should live as a believer in whatever situation the Lord has assigned to them, just as God has called them. This is the rule I lay down in all the churches.
1 Corinthians 10:31-33  So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. Do not cause anyone to stumble, whether Jews, Greeks or the church of God--even as I try to please everyone in every way. For I am not seeking my own good but the good of many, so that they may be saved.

of the Lord's people
Acts 9:13-15  "Lord," Ananias answered, "I have heard many reports about this man and all the harm he has done to your holy people in Jerusalem. And he has come here with authority from the chief priests to arrest all who call on your name." But the Lord said to Ananias, "Go! This man is my chosen instrument to proclaim my name to the Gentiles and their kings and to the people of Israel."

PEACE Romans 14:19 Part 2 of 2

Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification.

and to mutual edification
1 Corinthians 14:12  So it is with you. Since you are eager for gifts of the Spirit, try to excel in those that build up the church.
1 Corinthians 14:17  You are giving thanks well enough, but no one else is edified.
1 Corinthians 14:26  What then shall we say, brothers and sisters? When you come together, each of you has a hymn, or a word of instruction, a revelation, a tongue or an interpretation. Everything must be done so that the church may be built up.
2 Corinthians 12:19  Have you been thinking all along that we have been defending ourselves to you? We have been speaking in the sight of God as those in Christ; and everything we do, dear friends, is for your strengthening.
Ephesians 4:11-13  So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up, until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fulness of Christ.
Ephesians 4:29  Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.

PEACE Romans 14:19 Part 1 of 2

Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification.

Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace
Psalm 34:14  Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.
Romans 12:18  If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.
1 Corinthians 7:15  But if the unbeliever leaves, let it be so. The brother or the sister is not bound in such circumstances; God has called us to live in peace.
2 Timothy 2:22  Flee the evil desires of youth and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
Hebrews 12:14  Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord.

and to mutual edification
Romans 15:2  Each of us should please our neighbors for their good, to build them up.
1 Corinthians 14:3-5  But the one who prophesies speaks to people for their strengthening, encouraging and comfort. Anyone who speaks in a tongue edifies themselves, but the one who prophesies edifies the church. I would like every one of you to speak in tongues, but I would rather have you prophesy. the one who prophesies is greater than the one who speaks in tongues, unless someone interprets, so that the church may be edified.

PEACE Romans 12:18-19

If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: "It is mine to avenge; I will repay," says the Lord.

If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone
Mark 9:50  "Salt is good, but if it loses its saltiness, how can you make it salty again? Have salt among yourselves, and be at peace with each other."
Romans 14:19  Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification.

Do not take revenge
Romans 12:17  Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone.
Leviticus 19:18  " 'Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against anyone among your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the LORD.' "
Proverbs 20:22  Do not say, "I'll pay you back for this wrong!" Wait for the LORD, and he will avenge you.
Proverbs 24:29  Do not say, "I'll do to them what they have done to me; I'll pay them back for what they did."

"It is mine to avenge; I will repay," says the Lord
Deuteronomy 32:35  "It is mine to avenge; I will repay. In due time their foot will slip; their day of disaster is near and their doom rushes upon them."
Genesis 50:19  But Joseph said to them, "Don't be afraid. Am I in the place of God?"
1 Samuel 26:10  "As surely as the LORD lives," he (David) said, "the LORD himself will strike him (Saul), or his time will come and he will die, or he will go into battle and perish."
Psalm 94:1  The LORD is a God who avenges. O God who avenges, shine forth.
Jeremiah 51:36  Therefore this is what the LORD says: "See, I will defend your cause and avenge you; I will dry up her (Babylon's) sea and make her springs dry."

PEACE Romans 8:5-6

Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.

Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires
Galatians 5:19-21  The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.

but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires
Galatians 5:22-25  But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.

The mind governed by the flesh is death
Romans 6:23  For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

but the mind governed by the Spirit if life and peace
Romans 8:13  For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live.
Galatians 6:8  Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.

PEACE Romans 5:1-2

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God.

Therefore, since we have been justified
Romans 4:25  He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.

through faith
Romans 3:28  For we maintain that a person is justified by faith apart from the works of the law.

we have peace with God
Luke 2:14  "Glory to God in the highest heaven, and peace on earth to those on whom his favor rests."

through our Lord Jesus Christ
Romans 5:10  For if, while we were God's enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!

through whom we have gained access by faith
Ephesians 2:18  For through him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit.
Ephesians 3:12-13  ... remember that at that time you were separate from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners to the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ.

into this grace in which we now stand
1 Corinthians 15:1  Now, brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand.

And we boast in the hope of the glory of God
Hebrews 3:6  But Christ is faithful as the Son over God's house. And we are his house, if indeed we hold firmly to our confidence and the hope in which we glory.
Hebrews 6:18-19a  God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope set before us may be greatly encouraged. We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.

PEACE Romans 2:9-11

There will be trouble and distress for every human being who does evil: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile; but glory, honor and peace for everyone who does good: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. For God does not show favoritism.

There will be trouble and distress for every human being who does evil
Psalm 32:10  Many are the woes of the wicked, but the LORD's unfailing love surrounds the one who trusts in him.

first for the Jew, then for the Gentile
Romans 1:16-17  For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile. For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed--a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: "The righteous will live by faith." (Habakkuk 2:4)
Amos 3:1-2  Hear this word people of Israel, the word the LORD has spoken against you--against the whole family I brought out of Egypt: "You only have I chosen of all the families of the earth; therefore I will punish you for all your sins."
Romans 3:1-2  What advantage, then, is there in being a Jew, or what value is there in circumcision? Much in every way! First of all, the Jews have been entrusted with the very words of God.
John 4:22  "You Samaritans worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know, for salvation is from the Jews."

For God does not show favoritism
Acts 10:34-36  Then Peter began to speak: "I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism but accepts from every nation the one who fears him and does what is right. You know the message God sent to the people of Israel, announcing the good news of peace through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all."

To all in Rome who are loved by God and called to be his holy people: Grace and peace to you from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ.

To all in Rome who are loved by God
Romans 8:38-39  For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
1 Thessalonians 1:4  For we know, brothers and sisters, loved by God, that he has chosen you, ...

and called to be his holy people
Acts 9:13  "Lord," Ananias answered, "I have heard many reports about this man and all the harm he has done to your holy people in Jerusalem."

Grace and peace to you from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ
1 Corinthians 1:3 and Ephesians 1:2  Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Timothy 1:2  Grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.
Titus 1:4  To Titus, my true son in our common faith: Grace and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Savior.
1 Peter 1:1-2  Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, To God's elect, exiles scattered throughout the provinces of Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia and Bithynia, who have been chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through the sanctifying work of the Spirit, to be obedient to Jesus Christ and sprinkled with his blood: Grace and peace be yours in abundance.

PEACE John 16:33 Part 2 of 2

"I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."

But take heart! I have overcome the world
Revelation 2:7  "Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to eat from the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God."
Revelation 2:11  "Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. The one who is victorious will not be hurt at all by the second death."
Revelation 2:17  "Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who is victorious, I will give some of the hidden manna. I will also give that person a white stone with a new name written on it, known only to the one who receives it."
Revelation 2:26-29  "To the one who is victorious and does my will to the end, I will give authority over the nations--that one 'will rule them with an iron scepter and will dash them to pieces like pottery' (Psalm 2:9)--just as I have received authority from my Father. I will also give that one the morning star. Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches."
Revelation 3:5-6  "The one who is victorious will, like them be dressed in white. I will never blot out the name of that person from the book of life, but will acknowledge that name before my Father and his angels. Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches."
Revelation 3:12-13  "The one who is victorious I will make a pillar in the temple of my God. Never again will they leave it. I will write on them the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which is coming down out of heaven from my God; and I will also write on them my new name. Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches."
Revelation 3:21-22  "To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat down with my Father on his throne. Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches."
Revelation 21:7  "Those who are victorious will inherit all this, and I will be their God and they will be my children."

PEACE John 16:33 Part 1 of 2

"I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."

I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace
John 14:27  "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."

In this world you will have trouble
John 15:18-21  "If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you. Remember what I told you: 'A servant is not greater than his master.' (John 13:16) If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also. They will treat you this way because of my name, for they do not know the one who sent me."

But take heart! I have overcome the world
Romans 8:37-39  No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
1 John 4:4  You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you, (the Holy Spirit) is greater than the one who is in the world.
1 John 5:3-5  In fact, this is love for God: to keep his commands. And his commands are not burdensome, for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.

Ephesians 2:14-18  For he himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, by setting aside in his flesh the law with its commands and regulations. He came and preached  peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near. For through him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit.

PEACE Zechariah 8:19

This is what the LORD Almighty says: "The fasts of the fourth, fifth, seventh and tenth months will become joyful and glad occasions and happy festivals for Judah. Therefore love truth and peace."

The fasts of the fourth
(the fast that lamented the breaching of the walls of Jerusalem by Nebuchadnezzar)
Jeremiah 39:2  And on the ninth day of the fourth month of Zedekiah's eleventh year, the city wall was broken through.
2 Kings 25:7  They killed the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes. Then they put out his eyes, bound him with bronze shackles and took him to Babylon.

fifth
(the fast that commemorated the burning of the temple and other important buildings)

2 Kings 25:8-9  On the seventh day of the fifth month, in the nineteenth year of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, Nebuzaradan commander of the imperial guard, an official of the king of Babylon, came to Jerusalem. He set fire to the temple of the LORD, the royal palace and all the houses of Jerusalem. Every important building he burned down.

seventh
(the fast that marked the anniversary of Gedaliah's assassination)
2 Kings 25:25-26  In the seventh month, however, Ishmael son of Nethaniah, the son of Elishama, who was of royal blood, came with ten men and assassinated Gedaliah and also the men of Judah and the Babylonians who were with him at Mizpah. At this, all the people from the least to the greatest, together with the army officers, fled to Egypt for fear of the Babylonians.

and the tenth months
(this fast mourned the beginning of Nebuchadnezzar's siege of Jerusalem)
Jeremiah 52:4-5  So in the ninth year of Zedekiah's reign, on the tenth day of the tenth month, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon marched against Jerusalem with his whole army. Therefore love truth and peace

PEACE Micah 5:5-6 Part 2 of 2

And he will be our peace when the Assyrians invade our land and march through our fortresses. We will raise against them seven shepherds, even eight commanders, who will rule the land of Assyria with the sword, the land of Nimrod with drawn sword. He will deliver us from the Assyrians when they invade our land and march across our borders.

We will raise against them seven shepherds, even eight commanders
Isaiah 10:24-27  Therefore this is what the Lord, the LORD Almighty, says : "My people who live in Zion, do not be afraid of the Assyrians, who beat you with a rod and lift up a club against you, as Egypt did. Very soon my anger against you will end and my wrath will be directed to their destruction." The LORD Almighty will lash them with a whip, as when he struck down Midian at the rock of Oreb; and he will raise his staff over the waters, as he did in Egypt. In that day their burden will be lifted from your shoulders, their yoke from your neck; the yoke will be broken because you have grown so fat.

The lion killed enough for his cubs and strangled the prey for this mate, filling his lairs with the kill and his dens with the prey. "I am against you," declares the LORD Almighty. "I will burn up your chariots in smoke, and the sword will devour your young lions. I will leave you no prey on earth. The voices of your messengers will no longer be heard."
