GLORY Isaiah 44:23 Part 2 of 2
Sing for joy, you heavens, for the LORD has done this; shout aloud you earth beneath. Burst into song, you mountains, you forests and all your trees, for the LORD has redeemed Jacob, he displays his glory in Israel.
he displays his glory in Israel
Exodus 16:10 While Aaron was speaking to the whole Israelite community, they looked toward the desert, and there was the glory of the LORD appearing in the cloud.
Leviticus 10:3 Moses then said to Aaron, "This is what the LORD spoke of when he said: 'Among those who approach me I will be proved holy; in the sight of all the people I will be honored.' " Aaron remained silent.
Isaiah 4:2 In that day the Branch of the LORD will be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the land will be the pride and glory of the survivors in Israel.
Isaiah 43:7 "... everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made."
Isaiah 46:13 I am bringing my righteousness near, it is not far away; and my salvation will not be delayed. I will grant salvation to Zion, my splendor to Israel.
Isaiah 49:3 He said to me, "You are my servant, Israel, in whom I will display my splendor."
Isaiah 52:1 Awake, awake, Zion, clothe yourself with strength! Put on your garments of splendor, Jerusalem, the holy city. The uncircumcised and defiled will not enter you again.
Isaiah 55:5 "Surely you will summon nations you know not, and nations you do not know will come running to you, because of the LORD your God, the Holy One of Israel, for he has endowed you with splendor."
Isaiah 60:9 Surely the islands look to me; in the lead are the ships of Tarshish, bringing your children from afar, with their silver and gold, to honor the LORD your God, the Holy One of Israel, for he has endowed you with splendor.
Isaiah 60:21 "Then all your people will be righteous and they will possess the land forever. They are the shoot I have planted, the work of my hands, for the display of my splendor."
Isaiah 61:3 ... and provide for those who grieve in Zion--to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the LORD for the display of his splendor.
Jeremiah 30:19 " 'From them will come songs of thanksgiving and the sound of rejoicing. I will add to their numbers, and they will not be decreased; I will bring them honor, and they will not be disdained.' "

GLORY Isaiah 40:5 Part 1 of 2
"And the glory of the LORD will be revealed, and all people will see it together. For the mouth of the LORD has spoken."
And the glory of the LORD will be revealed
Exodus 16:10 While Aaron was speaking to the whole Israelite community, they looked toward the desert, and there was the glory of the LORD appearing in the cloud.
Numbers 14:20-23 The LORD replied, "I have forgiven them, as you asked. Nevertheless, as surely as I live and as surely as the glory of the LORD fills the whole earth, not one of those who saw my glory and the signs I performed in Egypt and in the wilderness but who disobeyed me and tested me ten times--not one of them will ever see the land I promised on oath to their ancestors. No one who has treated me with contempt will ever see it."
Isaiah 59:19 From the west, people will fear the name of the LORD, and from the rising of the sun, they will revere his glory. For he will come like a pent-up flood that the breath of the LORD drives along.

GLORY Isaiah 35:1-2 Part 3 of 3
The desert and
the parched land will be glad; the wilderness will rejoice and blossom.
Like the crocus, it will burst into bloom; it will rejoice greatly and
shout for joy. The glory of Lebanon will be given to it, the splendor of
Carmel and Sharon; they will see the glory of the LORD, the splendor of
our God.
The glory of Lebanon will be given to it
Ezra 3:7 Then they gave money to the masons and carpenters, and gave food and drink and olive oil to the people of Sidon and Tyre, so that they would bring cedar logs by sea from Lebanon to Joppa, as authorized by Cyrus king of Persia.
Isaiah 33:9 The land dries up and wastes away, Lebanon is ashamed and withers; Sharon is like the Arabah, and Bashon and Carmel drop their leaves.
the splendor of Carmel
Song of Songs 7:5 Your head crowns you like Mount Carmel. Your hair is like royal tapestry; the king is held captive by its tresses.
and Sharon
1 Chronicles 27:29 Shitrai the Sharonite was in charge of the herds grazing in Sharon. Shaphat son of Adlai was in charge of the herds in the valleys.
Isaiah 65:10 "Sharon will become a pasture for flocks, and the Valley of Achor a resting place for herds, for my people who seek me."
they will see the glory of the LORD
Exodus 16:6-7 So Moses and Aaron said to all the Israelites, "In the evening you will know that it was the LORD who brought you out of Egypt, and in the morning you will see the glory of the LORD, because he has heard your grumbling against him. Who are we, that you should grumble against us?"
Isaiah 4:5 Then the LORD will create over all of Mount Zion and over those who assemble there a cloud of smoke by day and a glow of flaming fire by night; over everything the glory will be a canopy.
Isaiah 59:19 From the west, people will fear the name of the LORD, and from the rising of the sun, they will revere his glory. For he will come like a pent-up flood that the breath of the LORD drives along.
the splendor of our God
Isaiah 25:9 In that day they will say, "Surely this is our God; we trusted in him, and he saved us. This is the LORD, we trusted in him; let us rejoice and be glad in his salvation."

GLORY Isaiah 35:1-2 Part 1 of 3

The glory of Lebanon will be given to it, the splendor of Carmel and Sharon; they will see the glory of the LORD, the splendor of our God.
The desert and the parched land will be glad
Isaiah 27:10 The fortified city stands desolate, an abandoned settlement, forsaken like the wilderness; there the calves graze, there they lie down; they strip its branches bare.
Isaiah 32:14-16 The fortress will be abandoned, the noisy city deserted; citadel and watchtower will become a wasteland forever, the delight of donkeys, a pasture for flocks, till the Spirit is poured on us from on high, and the desert becomes a fertile field, and the fertile field seems like a forest. The LORD's justice will dwell in the desert, his righteousness live in the fertile field.
Isaiah 41:18-20 "I will make the rivers flow on barren heights, and springs within the valleys. I will turn the desert into pools of water, and the parched ground into springs. I will put in the desert the cedar and the acacia, the myrtle and the olive. I will set junipers in the wasteland, the fir and the cypress together, so that people may see and know, may consider and understand, that the hand of the LORD has done this, that the Holy One of Israel has created it."
the wilderness will rejoice and blossom
Isaiah 27:6 In the days to come Jacob will take root, Israel will bud and blossom and fill all the world with fruit.
Isaiah 51:3 "The LORD will surely comfort Zion and will look with compassion on all her ruins; he will make her deserts like Eden, her wastelands like the garden of the LORD. Joy and gladness will be found in her, thanksgiving and the sound of singing."

GLORY Isaiah 26:15
You have enlarged the nation, LORD; you have enlarged the nation. You have gained glory for yourself; you have extended all the borders of the land.
You have enlarged the nation
Job 12:23 "He makes the nations great, and destroys them; he enlarges nations, and disperses them."
Isaiah 14:1-2 The LORD will have compassion on Jacob; once again he will choose Israel and will settle them in their own land. Foreigners will join them and unite with the descendants of Jacob. Nations will take them and bring them to their own place. And Israel will take possession of the nations and make them male and female servants in the LORD's land. They will make captives of their captors and rule over their oppressors.
Isaiah 54:2-3 "Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes. For you will spread out to the right and to the left; your descendants will dispossess nations and settle in their desolate cities."
Isaiah 9:2-3 ... The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned. You have enlarged the nation and increased their joy; they rejoice before you as people rejoice at harvest, as warriors rejoice when dividing the plunder.
Zechariah 2:3-5 While the angel who was speaking to me was leaving, another angel came to meet him and said to him: "Run, tell that young man, 'Jerusalem will be a city without walls because of the great number of people and animals in it. And I myself will be a wall of fire around it,' declares the LORD, 'and I will be its glory within.' "
You have extended the borders of the land
Isaiah 33:17 Your eyes will see a king in his beauty and view a land that stretches afar.

GLORY Isaiah 24:16 Part 2 of 2
From the ends of the earth we hear singing: "Glory to the Righteous One." But I said, "I waste away, I waste away! Woe to me! The treacherous betray! With treachery the treacherous betray!"
The treacherous betray!
Psalm 25:3 No one who hopes in you will ever be put to shame, but shame will come on those who are treacherous without cause.
With treachery the treacherous betray!
Isaiah 21:2 A dire vision has been shown to me: The traitor betrays, the looter takes loot. Elam, attack! Media, lay siege! I will bring to an end all the groaning she (Babylon) caused.
Isaiah 33:1 Woe to you, destroyer, you who have not been destroyed! Woe to you, betrayer, you who have not been betrayed! When you stop destroying, you will be destroyed; when you stop betraying, you will be betrayed.
Jeremiah 3:6-7 During the reign of king Josiah, the LORD said to me, "Have you seen what faithless Israel has done? She has gone up on every high hill and under every spreading tree and has committed adultery there. I thought that after she had done all this she would return to me but she did not, and her unfaithful sister Judah saw it."
Jeremiah 3:20 "But like a woman unfaithful to her husband, so you, Israel, have been unfaithful to me," declares the LORD.
Jeremiah 5:11 "The people of Israel and the people of Judah have been utterly unfaithful to me," declares the LORD.
Jeremiah 9:2 Oh, that I had in the desert a lodging place for travelers, so that I might leave my people and go away from them; for they are all adulterers, a crowd of unfaithful people.
Hosea 5:7 "They are unfaithful to the LORD; they give birth to illegitimate children. When they celebrate their New Moon feasts, he will devour their fields."
Hosea 9:1 Do not rejoice, Israel; do not be jubilant like the other nations. For you have been unfaithful to your God; you love the wages of a prostitute at every threshing floor.

Psalm 48:10 Like your name, O God, your praise reaches to the ends of the earth; your right hand is filled with righteousness.
we hear singing
Psalm 65:8 The whole earth is filled with awe at your wonders; where morning dawns, where evening fades, you call forth songs of joy.
Glory
Isaiah 28:5 In that day the LORD Almighty will be a glorious crown, a beautiful wreath for the remnant of his people.
Isaiah 60:1 "Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you."
Isaiah 60:19 "The sun will no more be your light by day, nor will the brightness of the moon shine on you, for the LORD will be your everlasting light, and your God will be your glory."
to the Righteous One
Ezra 9:15 "LORD, the God of Israel, you are righteous! We are left this day as a remnant. Here we are before you in our guilt, though because of it not one of us can stand in your presence."
But I said, "I waste away, I waste away!"
Leviticus 26:39 " 'Those of you who are left will waste away in the lands of their enemies because of their sins; also because of their ancestors' sins they will waste away.' "
Woe to me!
1 Samuel 4:6-8 Hearing the uproar, the Philistines asked, "What's all this shouting in the Hebrew camp?" When they learned that the ark of the LORD had come into the camp, the Philistines were afraid. "A god has come into the camp," they said. "Oh no! Nothing like this has happened before. We are doomed! Who will deliver us from the hand of these mighty gods? They are the gods who struck the Egyptians with all kinds of plagues in the wilderness."
Isaiah 5:8 Woe to you who add house to house and join field to field till no space is left and you live alone in the land.
Jeremiah 10:19 Woe to me because of my injury! My wound is incurable! Yet I said to myself, "This is my sickness, and I must endure it."
Jeremiah 45:3 "You said, 'Woe to me! The LORD has added sorrow to my pain; I am worn out with groaning and find no rest.' "

to search out a matter is the glory of kings
Proverbs 16:10-15 The lips of a king speak as an oracle, and his mouth does not betray justice. Honest scales and balances belong to the LORD; all the weights in the bag are of his making. Kings detest wrongdoing, for a throne is established through righteousness. Kings take pleasure in honest lips; they value the one who speaks what is right. A king's wrath is a messenger of death, but the wise will appease it. When a king's face brightens, it means life; his favor is like a rain cloud in spring.
1 Kings 3:9 "So give your servant a discerning heart to govern your people and to distinguish between right and wrong. For who is able to govern this great people of yours?"

It is the glory of God to conceal a matter
Deuteronomy 29:29 The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may follow all the words of this law.
Job 26:14 "And these are but the outer fringe of his works; how faint the whisper we hear of him! Who then can understand the thunder of his power?"
Isaiah 40:13-14 (see verses 12-24) Who can fathom the Spirit of the LORD, or instruct the LORD as his counselor? Whom did the LORD consult to enlighten him, and who taught him the right way? Who was it that taught him knowledge, or showed him the path of understanding?
Romans 11:33-36 Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out!"Who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been his counselor?" (Isaiah 40:13) "Who has ever given to God, that God should repay them?" (Job 41:11) For from him and through him and for him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen.

GLORY Proverbs 19:11
A person's wisdom yields patience; it is to one's glory to overlook an offense.
A person's wisdom yields patience
2 Kings 5:11-12 But Naaman went away angry and said, "I thought that he would surely come out to me and stand and call on the name of the LORD his God, wave his hands over the spot and cure me of my leprosy. Are not Abana and Pharpar, the rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? Couldn't I wash in them and be cleansed?" So he turned and went off in a rage.
Proverbs 14:29 Whoever is patient has great understanding, but one who is quick-tempered displays folly.
Proverbs 15:18 A hot-tempered person stirs up conflict, but one who is patient calms a quarrel.
Proverbs 16:32 Better a patient person than a warrior, one with self-control than one who takes a city.
Ecclesiastes 7:9 Do not be quickly provoked in your spirit, for anger resides in the lap of fools.
James 1:19-20 My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires.
it is to one's glory to overlook an offense
Proverbs 12:16 Fools show their annoyance at once, but the prudent overlook an insult.
Proverbs 29:11 Fools give full vent to their rage, but the wise bring calm in the end.
2 Samuel 16:11-12 David then said to Abishai and all his officials, "My son, my own flesh and blood, is trying to kill me. How much more, then, this Benjamite! Leave him alone; let him curse, for the LORD has told him to. It may be that the LORD will look upon my misery and restore to me his covenant blessing instead of his curse today." 2 Samuel 16:11-12 David then said to Abishai and all his officials, "My son, my own flesh and blood, is trying to kill me. How much more, then, this Benjamite! Leave him alone; let him curse, for the LORD has told him to. It may be that the LORD will look upon my misery and restore to me his covenant blessing instead of his curse today." GLORY Psalm 149:5-9 Part 3 of 3
Let his faithful
people rejoice in this honor and sing for joy on their beds. May the
praise of God be in their mouths and a double-edged sword in their
hands, to inflict vengeance on the nations and punishment on the
peoples, to bind their kings with fetters, and their nobles with
shackles of iron, to carry out the sentence written against them--this
is the glory of all his faithful people. Praise the LORD.
to bind their kings with fetters
2 Samuel 3:33-34 The king sang this lament for Abner: "Should Abner have died as the lawless die? Your hands were not bound, your feet were not fettered. You fell as one falls before the wicked." All the people wept over him again.
They will make captives of their captors and rule over their oppressors.
their nobles with shackles of iron
2 Chronicles 33:10-11 The LORD spoke to Manasseh and his people, but they paid no attention. So the LORD brought against them the army commanders of the king of Assyria, who took Manasseh prisoner, put a hook in his nose, bound him with bronze shackles and took him to Babylon.
to carry out the sentence written against them
Deuteronomy 7:1-2 When the LORD your God brings you into the land you are entering to possess and drives out before you many nations--the Hittites, Girgashites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites, seven nations larger and stronger than you--and when the LORD your God has delivered them over to you and you have defeated them, then you must destroy them totally. Make no treaty with them, and show them no mercy.
Ezekiel 28:26 " 'They will live there in safety and will build houses and plant vineyards; they will live in safety when I inflict punishment on all their neighbors who maligned them. Then they will know that I am the LORD their God.' "
this is the glory of all his faithful people
Psalm 145:10 All your works praise you, LORD; your faithful people extol you.

in their hands
Nehemiah 4:16-18 From that day on, half of my men did the work, while the other half were equipped with spears, shields, bows and armor. The officers posted themselves behind all the people of Judah who were building the wall. Those who carried materials did their work with one hand and held a weapon in the other, and each of the builders wore his sword at his side as he worked. But the man who sounded the trumpet stayed with me.
to inflict vengeance on the nations
Numbers 31:3 So Moses said to the people, "Arm some of your men to go to war against the Midianites so that they may carry out the LORD's vengeance on them."
Deuteronomy 32:40-41 "I lift my hand to heaven and solemnly swear: As surely as I live forever, when I sharpen my flashing sword and my hand grasps it in judgment, I will take vengeance on my adversaries and repay those who hate me."
and punishment on the peoples
Psalm 81:15 "Those who hate the LORD would cringe before him, and their punishment would last forever."

Let his faithful people rejoice in this honor
Psalm 132:16 "I will clothe her priests with salvation, her faithful people will ever sing for joy."
and sing for joy on their beds
Job 35:10-11 "But no one says, 'Where is God my Maker, who gives songs in the night, who teaches us more than he teaches the beasts of the earth and makes us wiser than the birds in the sky?' "
Psalm 42:8 By day the LORD directs his love, at night his song is with me--a prayer to the God of my life.
May the praise of God be in their mouths
Psalm 66:17 I cried out to him with my mouth; his praise was on my tongue.
and a double-edged sword
Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
Revelation 1:16 In his right hand he held seven stars, and coming out of his mouth was a sharp, double-edged sword. His face was like the sun shining in all its brilliance.

GLORY Psalm 108:3-5
I will praise you, LORD, among the nations; I will sing of you among the peoples. For great is your love, higher than the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the skies. Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; let your glory be over all the earth.
For great is your love, higher than the heavens
Numbers 14:17-19 "Now may the LORD's strength be displayed, just as you have declared: 'The LORD is slow to anger, abounding in love and forgiving sin and rebellion. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation.' (Exodus 20:4-6) In accordance with your great love, forgive the sin of these people, just as you have pardoned them from the time they left Egypt until now."
Psalm 106:44-45 Yet he took note of their distress when he heard their cry; for their sake he remembered his covenant and out of his great love he relented.
your faithfulness
Exodus 34:6-7 And he passed in front of Moses, proclaiming, "The LORD, the LORD, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children and their children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation."
reaches to the skies
Psalm 36:5 Your love, LORD, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies.
