Mark 10:41-45 Part 2 of 2

When the ten heard about this, they became indignant with James and John. Jesus called them together and said, "You know that those who are regarded as rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."

"For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."
Matthew 20:28
"... just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."
Matthew 26:28
"This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins."  (see Matthew 26:27-29)
Luke 12:37
"It will be good for those servants whose master finds them watching when he comes. Truly I tell you, he will dress himself to serve, will have them recline at the table and will come and wait on them."  (see Luke 12:35-40)
Luke 22:27
"For who is greater, the one who is at the table or the one who serves? Is it not the one who is at the table? But I am among you as one who serves."  (see Luke 22:24-30)
Philippians 2:6-7
Who, being in very nature God,
did not consider equality with God something to used to his
        own advantage;
rather, he made himself nothing
by taking the very nature of a servant,
being made in human likeness.  (see Philippians 2:5-11)
1 Timothy 2:5-6
For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all people. This has now been witnessed to at the proper time.  (see 1 Timothy 2:1-7)
1 Peter 1:18-19
For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.    (see all 1 Peter 1)
