It was not through the law that Abraham and his offspring received the promise that he would be heir of the world, but through the righteousness that comes by faith. For if those who depend on the law are heirs, faith means nothing and the promise is worthless, because the law brings wrath. And where there is no law there is no transgression.

Acts 13:32-33 "We tell you the good news: What God promised our ancestors he has fulfilled for us, their children, by raising up Jesus."
Acts 26:6-7 "And now it is because of my hope in what God has promised our ancestors that I am on trial today. This is the promise our twelve tribes are hoping to see fulfilled as they earnestly serve God day and night. King Agrippa, it is because of this hope that these Jews are accusing me."
Romans 1:2 ... the gospel he promised beforehand through the prophets in the Holy Scriptures ...
Romans 9:4 ... Theirs (the people of Israel) is the adoption to sonship; theirs the divine glory, the covenants, the receiving of the law, the temple worship and the promises.
Galatians 3:16 The promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. Scripture does not say "and to seeds," meaning many people, but "and to your seed," (Genesis 12:7; 13:15; 24:7) meaning one person, who is Christ.
Galatians 3:29 If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.
that he would be heir of the world
Genesis 17:3-6 Abram fell face down, and God said to him, "As for me, this is my covenant with you: You will be the father of many nations. No longer will you be called Abram (exalted father); your name will be Abraham (father of many), for I have made you a father of many nations. I will make you very fruitful; I will make nations of you, and kings will come from you."
