Romans 3:27-28 Part 1 of 2

Where, then, is the boasting? It is excluded. Because of what law? The law that requires works? No, because of the law that requires faith. For we maintain that a person is justified by faith apart from the works of the law.

Where, then, is boasting?
Romans 2:17  Now you, if you call yourself a Jew; if you rely on the law and boast in God; ...
Romans 2:23  You who boast in the law, do you dishonor God by breaking the law?
Romans 4:2  If, in fact, Abraham was justified by works, he had something to boast about--but not before God.
1 Corinthians 1:27-31  But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things--and things that are not--to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before him. It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God--that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption. Therefore, as it is written: "Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord." (Jeremiah 9:24)
Ephesians 2:8-9  For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God--not by works, so that no one can boast.
