John 7:45-49

Finally the temple guards went back to the chief priests and the Pharisees, who asked them, "Why didn't you bring him in?"  "No one ever spoke the way this man does," the guards replied. "You mean he has deceived you also?" the Pharisees retorted. "Have any of the rulers or of the Pharisees believed in him? No! But this mob that knows nothing of the law--there is a curse on them."

Finally the temple guards went back to the chief priests and the Pharisees
John 7:32  The Pharisees heard the crowd whispering such things about him. Then the chief priests and the Pharisees sent temple guards to arrest him.

No one ever spoke the way this man does
Matthew 7:28-29  When Jesus had finished saying these things, the crowds were amazed at his teaching, because he taught as one who had authority, and not as their teachers of the law. (also Mark 1:22)
Matthew 13:54  Coming to his hometown, he began teaching the people in their synagogue, and they were amazed. "Where did this man get this wisdom and these miraculous powers?" they asked. (also Mark 6:2)
Matthew 22:33  When the crowds heard this, they were astonished at his teaching.
Mark 11:18  The chief priests and the teachers of the law heard this and began looking for a way to kill him, for they feared him, because the whole crowd was amazed at his teaching.

You mean he has deceived you also?
John 7:12  Among the crowds there was widespread whispering about him. some said, "He is a good man." Others replied, "No, he deceives the people."

Have any of the rulers or of the Pharisees believed in him? No!
John 12:42  Yet at the same time many even among the leaders believed in him. But because of the Pharisees they would not openly acknowledge their faith for fear they would be put out of the synagogue; for they loved human praise more than praise from God.
