When you were
dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you
alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the
charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned
us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross. And having disarmed
the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them,
triumphing over them by the cross.

Isaiah 53:11 After he has suffered, he will see the light of life and be satisfied; by his knowledge my righteous servant will justify many, and he will bear their iniquities.

Just as people are destined to die, and after that to face judgment, so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sins, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.
