Colossians 1:18-20 Part 1 of 2

And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross. 

And he is the head 
Ephesians 1:22-23  And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.

of the body, the church 
Colossians 1:24  Now I rejoice in what I am suffering for you, and I fill up in my flesh what is still lacking in regard to Christ's afflictions, for the sake of his body, which is the church.
1 Corinthians 12:27  Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.

he is the beginning and the firstborn 
Colossians 1:15  The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.
Psalm 89:27  And I will appoint him to be my firstborn, the most exalted of the kings of the earth.
Romans 8:29  For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.
Hebrews 1:6  And again, when God brings his firstborn into the world, he says, "Let all God's angels worship him." (Deuteronomy 32:43, see Dead Sea Scrolls and Septuagint)

from among the dead 
Acts 26:22-23  "But God has helped me to this very day; so I stand here and testify to small and great alike. I am saying nothing beyond what the prophets and Moses said would happen--that the Messiah would suffer and, as the first to rise from the dead, would bring the message of light to his own people and to the Gentiles."
Revelation 1:5  ... and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth.
