Since you died
with Christ to the elemental spiritual forces of this world, why, as
though you still belonged to the world, do you submit to its rules: "Do
not handle! Do not taste! Do not touch!"? These rules, which have to do
with things that are all destined to perish with use, are based on
merely human commands and teachings. Such regulations indeed have an
appearance of wisdom, with their self-imposed worship, their false
humility and their harsh treatment of the body, but they lack any value
in restraining sensual indulgence.

not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a
religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. These are a
shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found
in Christ.

Hebrews 8:5 They (the priests) serve at a sanctuary that is a copy and shadow of what is in heaven. This is why Moses was warned when he was about to build the tabernacle: "See to it that you make everything according to the pattern shown you on the mountain."
Hebrews 10:1-4 The law is only a shadow of the good things that are coming--not the realities themselves. For this reason it can never, by the same sacrifices repeated endlessly year after year, make perfect those who draw near to worship. Otherwise, would they not have stopped being offered? For the worshipers would have been cleansed once for all, and would no longer have felt guilty for their sins. But those sacrifices are an annual reminder of sins. It is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sin.
the reality, however, is found in Christ
Hebrews 10:8-13 First he said, "Sacrifices and offerings, burnt offerings and sin offerings you did not desire, nor were you pleased with them"--though they were offered in accordance with the law. Then he said, "Here I am, I have come to do your will." He sets aside the first to establish the second. And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. Day after day every priest stands and performs his religious duties; again and again he offers the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. But when this priest (Jesus) had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God, and since that time he waits for his enemies to be made his footstool. For by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy.

I tell you this
so that no one may deceive you by fine-sounding arguments. For though I
am absent from you in body, I am present with you in spirit and delight
to see how disciplined you are and how firm your faith in Christ is.

Romans 16:17-18 I urge you, brothers and sisters, to watch out for those who cause divisions and put obstacles in your way that are contrary to the teaching you have learned. Keep away from them. For such people are not serving our Lord Christ, but their own appetites. By smooth talk and flattery they deceive the minds of naive people.
2 Timothy 2:23 Don't have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels.
Titus 3:9 But avoid foolish controversies and genealogies and arguments and quarrels about the law, because these are unprofitable and useless.
Ephesians 5:6 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God's wrath comes on those who are disobedient.
Titus 1:10 For there are many rebellious people, full of meaningless talk and deception, especially those of the circumcision group.

I want you to
know how hard I am contending for you and for those at Laodicea, and for
all who have not met me personally. My goal is that they may be
encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full
riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the
mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of
wisdom and knowledge.

For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength.

That power is the same as the mighty strength he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come.
Ephesians 3:7-13 I became a servant of this gospel by the gift of God's grace given me through the working of his power. Although I am less that the least of all the Lord's people, this grace was given me: to preach to the Gentiles the boundless riches of Christ, and to make plain to everyone the administration of this mystery, which for ages past was kept hidden in God, who created all things. His intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms, according to his eternal purpose that he accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord. In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence. I ask you, therefore, not to be discouraged because of my sufferings for you, which are your glory.

Three times I was beaten with rods, once I was pelted with stones, three times I was shipwrecked, I spent a night and a day in the open sea. I have been constantly on the move. I have been in danger from rivers, in danger from bandits, in danger from my fellow Jews, in danger from Gentiles; in danger in the city, in danger in the country, in danger at sea; and in danger from false believers. I have labored and toiled and have often gone without sleep; I have known hunger and thirst and have often gone without food; I have been cold and naked.

Now I rejoice
in what I am suffering for you, and I fill up in my flesh what is still
lacking in regard to Christ's afflictions, for the sake of his body,
which is the church. I have become its servant by the commission God
gave me to present to you the word of God in its fullness--the mystery
that has been kept hidden for ages and generations, but is now disclosed
to the Lord's people. To them God has chosen to make known among the
Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you,

1 John 2:27 As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit--just as it has taught you, remain in him.

Romans 2:4 Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, forbearance and patience, not realizing that God's kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?
Romans 11:33 Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out!
Colossians 2:2-3 My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
