When we were overwhelmed by sins, you forgave our transgressions. Blessed are those you choose and bring near to live in your courts! We are filled with the good things of your house, of your holy temple.
When we were overwhelmed by sins
Psalm 40:12 For troubles without number surround me; my sins have overtaken me, and I cannot see.
you forgave our transgressions
Psalm 79:9 Help us, God our Savior, for the glory of your name; deliver us and forgive our sins for your name's sake.
Romans 3:25-26 God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood--to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished--he did it to demonstrate his righteousness at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.
Hebrews 9:14 How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God!
Blessed are those you choose
Psalm 33:12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people he chose for his inheritance.
and bring near to live in your courts
Numbers 16:5-7 Then he (Moses) said to Korah and all his followers: "In the morning the LORD will show who belongs to him and who is holy, and he will have that person come near him. The man he chooses he will cause to come near him. You, Korah, and all your followers are to do this: Take censers and tomorrow put burning coals and incense in them before the LORD. The man the LORD chooses will be the one who is holy. You Levites have gone too far!"
We are filled with the good things of your house
Psalm 36:8 They feast on the abundance of your house; you give them drink from your river of delights.
