Now this I know: The LORD gives victory to his anointed. He answers him from his heavenly sanctuary with the victorious power of his right hand.
The LORD gives victory to his anointed
2 Samuel 23:1 These are the last words of David: "The inspired utterance of David son of Jesse, the utterance of the man exalted by the Most High, the man anointed by the God of Jacob, the hero of Israel's songs: ..."
Psalm 28:8 The LORD is the strength of his people, a fortress of salvation for his anointed one.
with the victorious power of his right hand
Job 40:9-14 "Do you have an arm like God's, and can you voice thunder like his? Then adorn yourself with glory and splendor, and clothe yourself in honor and majesty. Unleash the fury of your wrath, look at all who are proud and bring them low, look at all who are proud and humble them, crush the wicked where they stand. Bury them all in the dust together; shroud their faces in the grave. Then I myself (the LORD) will admit to you that your own right hand can save you."
Habakkuk 3:12-13 In wrath you strode through the earth and in anger you threshed the nations. You came out to deliver your people, to save your anointed one. You crushed the leader of the land of wickedness, you stripped him from head to foot.

Psalm 19:10-11
They are more precious than gold, than much pure gold; they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the honeycomb. By them your servant is warned; in keeping them there is great reward.
They are more precious than gold
Job 22:23-25 "If you will return to the Almighty, you will be restored: If you remove wickedness far from your tent, and assign your nuggets to the dust, your gold of Ophir to the rocks in the ravines, then the Almighty will be your gold, the choicest silver for you."

they are sweeter than honey
Psalm 119:103 How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth!

than honey from the honeycomb

Psalm 19:7
The law of the LORD is perfect, refreshing the soul. The statutes of the LORD are trustworthy, making wise the simple.
The law of the LORD
Psalm 1:1-2 Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the LORD, and who meditates on his law day and night.
is perfect
Psalm 119:142 Your righteousness is everlasting and your law is true.
James 1:25 But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it--not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it--they will be blessed in what they do.
refreshing the soul
Psalm 23:2-3 He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name's sake.
The statutes of the LORD are trustworthy
Psalm 93:5 Your statutes, LORD, stand firm; holiness adorns your house for endless days.
Psalm 111:7 The works of his hands are faithful and just; all his precepts are trustworthy.
Psalm 119:138 The statutes you have laid down are righteous; they are fully trustworthy.
Psalm 119:144 Your statutes are always righteous; give me understanding that I may live.
making wise the simple
Deuteronomy 4:5-7 See, I have taught you decrees and laws as the LORD my God commanded me, so that you may follow them in the land you are entering to take possession of it. Observe them carefully, for this will show your wisdom and understanding to the nations, who will hear about all these decrees and say, "Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people." What other nation is so great as to have their gods near them the way the LORD our God is near us whenever we pray to him?
Psalm 119:130 The unfolding of your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple.

Psalm 19:2-6
Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge. They have no speech, they use no words; no sound is heard from them. Yet their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world. In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun. It is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, like a champion rejoicing to run his course. It rises at one end of the heavens and makes its circuit to the other; nothing is deprived of its warmth.
night after night they reveal knowledge
Psalm 74:16 The day is yours, and yours also the night; you established the sun and moon.
their words to the ends of the world
Romans 10:18 But I ask: Did they (the Israelites) not hear? Of course they did: "Their voice has gone out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world." (Psalm 19:4)
In the heavens God has pitched a tent
Job 36:29 "Who can understand how he spreads out the clouds, how he thunders from his pavilion?"
Psalm 104:2 The LORD wraps himself in light as with a garment; he stretches out the heavens like a tent ...
for the sun
Judges 5:31 "So may all your enemies perish, LORD! But may all who love you be like the sun when it rises in its strength." Then the land had peace forty years.
It is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber
Joel 2:16 Gather the people, consecrate the assembly; bring together the elders, gather the children, those nursing at the breast. Let the bridegroom leave his room and the bride her chamber.
like a champion rejoicing to run his course
1 Samuel 17:4 A champion named Goliath, who was from Gath, came out of the Philistine camp. His height was six cubits and a span. (about 9 feet 9 inches)
It rises from one end of the heavens
Deuteronomy 30:4 Even if you have been banished to the most distant land under the heavens, from there the LORD your God will gather you and bring you back.
and makes its circuit to the other
Psalm 113:3 From the rising of the sun to the places where it sets, the name of the LORD is to be praised.
Ecclesiastes 1:5 The sun rises and the sun sets, and hurries back to where it rises.

Psalm 19:1
The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
The heavens
Psalm 89:5 The heavens praise your wonders, LORD, your faithfulness too, in the assembly of the holy ones.
Isaiah 40:22 He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth, and its people are like grasshoppers. He stretches out the heavens like a canopy, and spreads them out like a tent to live in.

The LORD lives!
Joshua 3:9-10 Joshua said to the Israelites, "Come here and listen to the words of the LORD your God. This is how you will know that the living God is among you and that he will certainly drive out before you the Canaanites, Hittites, Hivites, Perizzites, Girgashites, Amorites and Jebusites."

2 Corinthians 13:4 For to be sure, he (Christ) was crucified in weakness, yet he lives by God's power. Likewise, we are weak in him, yet by God's power we will live with him in our dealing with you.

Psalm 18:45
They all lose heart; they come trembling from their strongholds.
They all lose heart
1 Samuel 17:32 David said to Saul, "Let no one lose heart on account of this Philistine; your servant will go and fight him."
2 Corinthians 4:1 Therefore, since through God's mercy we have this ministry, we do not lose heart.
Hebrews 12:3 Consider him (Jesus) who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
they come trembling
Isaiah 66:2 "Has not my hand made all these things, so that they came into being?" declares the LORD. "These are the ones I look on with favor: those who are humble and contrite in spirit, and who tremble at my word."
Hosea 3:5 Afterward the Israelites will return and seek the LORD their God and David their king. They will come trembling to the LORD and to his blessings in the last days.
Hosea 11:10-11 "They will follow the LORD; he will roar like a lion. When he roars, his children will come trembling from the west. They will come from Egypt, trembling like sparrows, from Assyria, fluttering like doves. I will settle them in their homes," declares the LORD.
from their strongholds
Psalm 9:9 The LORD is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.
Micah 7:16-18 Nations will see and be ashamed, deprived of all their power. They will put their hands over their mouths and their ears will become deaf. They will lick dust like a snake, like creatures that crawl on the ground. They will come trembling out of their dens; they will turn in fear to the LORD our God and will be afraid of you. Who is a God like you, who pardons sin and forgives the transgression of the remnant of his inheritance? You do not stay angry forever but delight to show mercy.

Psalm 18:43-44
You have delivered me (David) from the attacks of the people; you have made me the head of nations. People I did not know now serve me, foreigners cower before me; as soon as they hear of me they obey me.
You have made me the head of nations
2 Samuel 8:13-14 And David became famous after he returned from striking down eighteen thousand Edomites in the Valley of Salt. He put garrisons throughout Edom, and all the Edomites became subject to David. The LORD gave David victory wherever he went. (see verses 1-14)
People I did not know now serve me
Isaiah 55:3-5 "Give ear and come to me; listen that you may live. I will make an everlasting covenant with you, my faithful love promised to David. See, I have made him a witness to the peoples, a ruler and commander of the peoples. Surely you will summon nations you know not, and nations you do not know will come running to you, because of the LORD your God, the Holy One of Israel, for he has endowed you with splendor."
foreigners cower before me
Psalm 54:3 Arrogant foes are attacking me; ruthless people are trying to kill me--people without regard for God.
Psalm 144:7-8 Reach down your hand from on high; deliver me and rescue me from the mighty waters, from the hands of foreigners whose mouths are full of lies, whose right hands are deceitful.
Isaiah 25:4-5 You have been a refuge for the poor, a refuge for the needy in their distress, a shelter from the storm and a shade from the heat. For the breath of the ruthless is like a storm driving against a wall and like the heat of the desert. You silence the uproar of foreigners; as heat is reduced by the shadow of a cloud, so the song of the ruthless is stilled.

Psalm 18:41-42
They cried for help, but there was no one to save them--to the LORD, but he did not answer. I beat them as fine as windblown dust; I trampled them like mud in the streets.
They cried for help, but there was no one to save them
2 Kings 14:26-27 The LORD had seen how bitterly everyone in Israel, whether slave or free, was suffering; and there was no one to help them. And since the LORD had not said he would blot out the name of Israel from under heaven, he saved them by the hand of Jeroboam son of Jehoash.
Psalm 50:22-23 "Consider this, you who forget God, or I will tear you to pieces, with no one to rescue you: Those who sacrifice thank offerings honor me, and to the blameless I will show my salvation."
to the LORD, but he did not answer
1 Samuel 8:18 "When that day comes, you will cry out for relief from the king you have chosen, but the LORD will not answer you in that day."
1 Samuel 14:37 So Saul asked God, "Shall I go down and pursue the Philistines? Will you give them into Israel's hand?" But God did not answer him that day.
Jeremiah 11:11 "Therefore this is what the LORD says: 'I will bring on them a disaster they cannot escape. Although they cry out to me, I will not listen to them.' "
I beat them as fine as windblown dust
Deuteronomy 9:21 Also I (Moses) took that sinful thing of yours, the calf you had made, and burned it in the fire. Then I crushed it and ground it to powder as fine as dust and threw the dust into a stream that flowed down the mountain.
Isaiah 2:22 Stop trusting in mere humans, who have but a breath in their nostrils. Why hold them in esteem?

Psalm 18:33-34
He makes my feet like the feet of a deer; he causes me to stand on the heights. He trains my hands for battle; my arms can bend a bow of bronze.

Psalm 42:1 As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God.

he causes me to stand on the heights
Deuteronomy 32:13-14 He (the LORD) made him (Jacob/Israel) ride on the heights of the land and fed him with the fruit of the fields. He nourished him with honey from the rock, and with oil from the flinty crag, with curds and milk from herd and flock and with fattened lambs and goats, with choice rams of Bashan and the finest kernels of wheat. You drank the foaming blood of the grape.
He trains my hands for battle
Psalm 144:1-2 Praise be to the LORD my Rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle. He is my loving God and my fortress, my stronghold and my deliverer, my shield, in whom I take refuge, who subdues people under me.

Psalm 18:29
With your help I can advance against a troop; with my God I can scale a wall.
Psalm 18:32 It is God who arms me with strength and keeps my way secure.
Psalm 18:39 You armed me with strength for battle; you humbled my adversaries before me.

Hebrews 11:32-34 And what more shall I say? I do not have time to tell about Gideon, Barak, Samson and Jephthah, about David and Samuel and the prophets, who through faith conquered kingdoms, administered justice, and gained what was promised; who shut the mouths of lions, quenched the fury of the flames, and escaped the edge of the sword; whose weakness was turned to strength; and who became powerful in battle and routed foreign armies.

Psalm 18:28
You, LORD, keep my lamp burning; my God turns my darkness into light.
You, LORD, keep my lamp burning
1 Kings 11:36 " 'I will give one tribe to his son so that David my servant may always have a lamp before me in Jerusalem, the city where I chose to put my Name.' "
Psalm 132:17 "Here I will make a horn (strong one, king) grow for David and set up a lamp for my anointed one."
my God turns my darkness into light
Job 29:2-3 "How I long for the months gone by, for the days when God watched over me, when his lamp shone on my head and by his light I walked through darkness!"
Psalm 97:11 Light shines on the righteous and joy on the upright in heart.
Psalm 112:4 Even in darkness light dawns for the upright, for those who are gracious and compassionate and righteous.
John 1:1, 3-5 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. ... Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
Acts 26:17-18 " 'I will rescue you (Saul/Paul) from your own people and from the Gentiles. I am sending you to them to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.' "
2 Corinthians 4:6 For God, who said, "Let light shine out of darkness," (Genesis 1:3) made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of knowledge of God's glory displayed in the face of Christ.
2 Peter 1:19 We also have the prophetic message (the Scriptures) as something completely reliable, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.

Psalm 18:26
... to the pure you show yourself pure, but to the devious you show yourself shrewd.
to the pure you show yourself pure
Proverbs 15:26 The LORD detests the thoughts of the wicked, but gracious words are pure in his sight.
Matthew 5:8 "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God."
Philippians 1:9-11 And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ--to the glory and praise of God.
1 Timothy 5:22 Do not be hasty in the laying on of hands, and do not share in the sins of others. Keep yourself pure.
Titus 1:15 To the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are corrupted and do not believe, nothing is pure. In fact, both their minds and consciences are corrupted.
1 John 3:1-3 See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. All who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure.
but to the devious you show yourself shrewd
Proverbs 3:34 He mocks proud mockers but shows favor to the humble and oppressed.
Matthew 10:16 "I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves."
Luke 16:8 "The master commended the dishonest manager because he had acted shrewdly. For the people of this world are more shrewd in dealing with their own kind than are the people of the light."
